    If you prefer to buy in store at Halfords over eBay.

    British Cycling membership £26. Pay with Chase = £25.74
    Bike = £1600
    Discount is 8% = £128 (£1472)
    Cardyard 10% = £147.20 (£1324.80)
    Bought with Chase @ 1% (£13.25) £1311.55 + £25.74 = £1337.29

    Now I need a coffee

    Sportdrive by Dapu. I know Dapu makes decent hub motors and is a big OEM supplier to many brands for hub motors. I've not read much about their mid-drive motors and support would seem very difficult. Mid-drive motors are complicated motors, often with internal gearing and a lot of bearings plus the controller board is integrated into the motor and its down in a position which is prone to water ingress and other issues plus not only do the bearings have to cope with the motor power but the riders own power going through it. There is a clutch normally to allow normal pedal operation without power.

    There is a lot to potentially go wrong over the years. I have absolutely no idea who will provide spares and servicing for this motor. Seems far better to go for a bike with a Bafang motor which are more common, better supported and have easy access to spares. I personally would avoid a ebike with a Sportdrive motor, remember the motor housing is dedicated to this motor design and the battery is designed to fit into this exact frame. If anything fails out of warranty it's going to be difficult to keep on the road. It has a 2 year warranty and that could be as long as it lasts. The RST fork is not very inspiring either.

    Also don't confuse the suspension seat post with a dropper post. Seems like another short life throwaway product to me.

    I'd sooner go for the Rockrider E-ST 520 at 1400 or the E-ST 900 at £1800.
