One person's experience doesn't make a statistic, but I have had a terrible experience with them and my port back out is actually scheduled for today. The SIM was late in arriving (could be the Post Office fault, of course) but the number transfer (to a SIM that I hadn't yet received) went ahead anyway. Their phones lines didn't even ring when I tried to call customer support. Emails disappeared without a trace. So - I suggest that you wait until you get a SIM before transferring and not arrange it as you sign up. My phone number came back "Not a valid phone number, for days..."

The SIM arrived and all appeared well - except it doesn't automatically set the APN data or warn you to do so. So, no data service until that was sorted. Again - no one to speak to, I found the APN settings online. Then odd days when no one could ring my transferred number. At least it wasn't coming up "invalid number" for them - just "cannot be called at this time" or something similar. I've never be confident that I could be called, or not.

Repeatedly, if I tried to use it a a hotspot - it would just stop sending/receiving data from time to time. Then start again some hours later. Well within the limit. I'd manage about 100 MByte or so - really quickly (5G whooppee) - then nada.

Oh, they also have this thing (Other companies may have the same, but I haven't encountered it before) that their billing is a fixed calendar month - so you get data limit prorata until the next month starts, when you first connect. So, if you have a, say 10GB contract but there is only 3 days left in the month - it will cut you off at 1GB. Albeit that's only initially, until you have started the first whole calendar month with them. There doesn't appear to be any way of setting warnings that you are approaching the end of your data allowance and with 5G, you can get there really quickly.

I'll never know how many family and friends and other contacts tried to ring me when the phone was in the "invalid number" state. Plus the fear of the number having been lost for all time. Plus the frustration of not being able to contact anyone. It might have been possible using social media - but I don't use that.

It could just be me. But I thought that I would share the experience.

Never heard of this brand, so it's useful when people share their experiences, so thanks a lot

How long has this network been about for? Thank you
    KodaBear's avatar
Way less than a year in the UK. But much longer in their home country of Austria.

Ordered 3 sims and all of them were cutting out during a phone call so returned to Lebara.

Why did you leave Lebara? I've just joined so interested to know

Tried these little while ago. Found they had great customer service and amazing 5g network but unfortunately I wouldn't receive any phone calls so had to switch. If they can sort this issue I would swap back.

Good service but be warned, they are having issues with receiving OTPs from certain providers. Working with Ofcom but no ETA.

Might not worry everyone but certain companies, American Express for example, the OTPs for login or high value payments don’t come through so you’re unable to approve.

Is there a comprehensive list of affected otp / updates on this?

Great network but expensive for unlimited data. Is 1pmobile just as good does anyone know? They do 200GB for £20

I switched to them a couple of months ago. No complaints so far, the reception seems just as good as when I had an EE pay monthly SIM, except I can now get 5G which wasn't availbel on the EE plan I was on. For travelling for work in Europe they have been useful with their EU call and data allowance. They have a Whatsapp helpline that never seems to get answered but emails and voice calls to them are answwred quickly.

My comment was removed because it contained a blacklisted word. The company I am guessing who Spusu have replaced!

Hoping these are much better. Seem to be based on most comments. (edited)
