How good is Talktalk 150 mbps for £28 a month. Black Friday offer doubles the speed from 75 to 150 mbps. It a 18 month contract and £50 cashback.

I have used them in the past for 11 years without much hassle and now with BT for the last 4 years who are quoting £30.99 pm for 50 mbps.

    I can't get a City Fibre where I live.

    Any views.

I note no one posts TT deals - are they banned here? (edited)

Haggle with BT I have 150 for £31 a month with them if you want to stay

I think title needs to include what product (speed) they are marketing at £23.50/month. Full Fibre means nothing relevant here

Not that good a deal. As previously stated about 2 price rises in the term. I previously had Vodafone broadband that started at £21.50. After the first price rise it went to £23.50. After the second price rise I think it was about £25.88. After the 2 year contract ended it was going to go to about £28.00. Needless to say I left Vodafone.

I'm in the same position. Was with Vodafone for 2 years, 35Mbps. Worked ok, started at £20 per month. Now looking at £29 per month because of two annual RPI +4% prices rises. Contract now expiring . . I'm off!

Any other ISP and this cashback amount would be scorching, I suppose ymmv though so heat added

Two hits of RPI within the 24 months though… and lots of people have complained about Voda on here before. Awful support and congested network

    Bingo

The worst broadband provider I ever used. I wouldn't use them ever again even if they paid me £50 a month.

In what way? Not getting the advertised speed? Dropped connection? Other?

For context to those complaining I can’t fault them.

Have 950mb down and 850mb up pretty consistently

Quidco never tracks the transactions and I lost quite a lot , not good at all.  If we raise a complaint, you will receive an apology, that's all.

Quidco shows £52.50 or £82.50 cashback for Full Fibre 1 or 2 respectively. Where do you see £110?

I'm not sure about any of them. My Internet contact runs out 24 of this month, or do I hold out till blackfriday

Onestream Fibre 80 is £22 for 12 months with £73 cash back Inc witch makes it £15.92

Ans shell energy is £23.99 12 months with £76 cash back znd £100 gift card. =£17.66 plus gift card

Both est 63mb both deals 12 months contracts (edited)

Onestream is just Vodafone but with UK Customer service. The actual operations and setup is Vodafone business though. Rather than the Vodafone router you get a brand name TP Link one. I believe the current model is a VR1210v.

Shell Energy piggybacks on TalkTalk Wholesale. So their connection is good, but some of the routers they hand out are pretty bad. And their customer service is generally considered poor. There's also been a few people complaining about billing issues. Finally, be aware that Shell Energy is more or less dead, being sold off to Octopus - But I don't think there's any solid plans for the broadband arm of the business yet. You could end up being sold off to anyone really.

I've used Onestream before and recommended them to others I know too. They've improved a lot over the years, but you must remember to opt out of their free trials to avoid a charge for stuff like antivirus services - That's pretty much the one scummy practice of theirs that I can't get behind.

No cashback for Vodafone Gull Fibre 900 unless you get the Pro package?
    anonsw's avatar
Quidco says pro 1, but there is no pro 1 in Vodafone site just full fibre 500. I assumed it is the same thing

FWIW I’ve been with them for about a year. Only lost connection once and it resolved itself within a few mins. As others have stated though just be aware of the price rises during the contract. Mine started at £21 per month, went up in April this year to £24.02 and will go up again next April.

I’ve not had to use their support in any way and from what others are saying I hope I never need to.

Coming to the end of my 18 month contract with Vodafone. We've not had a good experience - outages roughly once a month or so.

Anyone considering Vodafone full fibre, might wanna check out Giganet as a close competitor. I've just switched to them and they give out an Amazon Eero Pro 6E router with their packages, have UK based customer service who are easy to understand and helpful, and they won't increase the prices of their packages until 2025 (maybe even 2026). The Wifi6E router will be handy for folk considering buying a Steam Deck OLED (released this Thursday) as it has Wifi6E capability meaning faster game downloads and more stable online gaming (edited)

Only thing to note with them is that they use CGNAT unlike Vodafone. This can cause problems for some use cases, including online gaming for some people due to the fact that multiple customers are sharing one IP Address.

If this isn't a problem then they are indeed worth considering if the price is right.

Rather than Eero, unless you actually need mesh, I would personally recommend opting for their Cobra WiFi 6 router instead for better WiFi range from one single device, and without adding the extra latency you end up with from adding extra access points to your mesh network. I'm currently using this exact router myself and despite the brand name being responsible for some really cheap and nasty models in the past, this one has really impressed me.

I would not bother it’s cheap, but they are useless, 7 days without internet city fibre installed, every day I have called every day I have been on there chat, awful customer service, stay well clear of them
