Hi, looking for a bit of help please.
    I have a contract with EE,it doesn't include roaming,unless I pay a charge for it.
I'm going to Europe for 18 days soon, can I use this instead of my EE sim in my mobile, and only pay £1.00?
How would this affect my contract with EE, would they have to know? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm quite elderly and not up to date with technology! :/

Yes you can use this for £1 in your phone.
EE got nothing to do with what you do with your phone and which sim you use.

And no question is stupid question. (edited)

Do we still have 90 days to activate the SIM?
    Soni210's avatar
They reduced it to 30 days but helpfully send emails to prompt activation with the date

The previous deal is still available and better! £0.99pm (reduced from £1 pm) x 6 months for 15GB data.

I guess this one is cheaper if you decide to carry on after six months (that is if you only require 12GB of data per month). I haven't quite worked out the sums but there you are 🧮 (edited)

How can I transfer by GiffGaff number? Is it after or before I order it?

Wait till you get your Lebara sim first then,
Text:Pac to 65075 using your GG sim then GG will send you a Pac code to give to Lebara
Once you have the Pac code give it to Lebara and your number will go over with-in a day.

( Don't use the Pac code over the weekend because it will take longer for the number to go over )
    Use it Monday to Thursday.

VoLTE doesn't work for Pixels. Don't buy this is you have no 3G in your area.

You can if you are willing to port out and then port in...

Good offer. But I got this last month was 15GB same minutes and texts. Same price.
    Ragdoll_Pigeon's avatar
Yeah but if you don't cancel at 6 months the new price is higher on the 15gb

I already have a similar Lebara Plan, but with only 5GB a month.
I'd rather pay an additional £1 a month and get this 12GB plan.

What advice would you give me, in order to move to this new plan?
I guess I have to mess with Sim's and other spare phone, pac codes, and even a new email address?

Welcome advice (wish they would just upgrade my sim/deal but I guess thats too easy!)

It's pretty straight forward to change, but you have to jump through a couple of hoops to get there.
Have a look at the Lebara 15Gb deal, 99p for six months (still available) and there is also a guide to the process you need to follow at the start of the thread.
You can order the new SIM on your existing account. Log into your Lebara account, then open a new browser tab and navigate to the new deal. Once you start to enter your details, their system will recognise you and auto complete payment details etc.
You will need to double port. I tend to use 3 as you don't need to add any credit to their PAYG SIM. Order the 3 SIM.
Once you receive the Sims, decide when you will start the porting process, best to go just before the end of your existing billing month, so that you don't waste any of your monthly allowances.
Request PAC from Lebara by texting PAC to 65075 on your existing SIM.
Activate the 3 SIM, and keep it in a phone and switched on. If you have a dual SIM phone this makes life easier.
Give the PAC to 3 (online or using the app), the number will port over within one working day.
Activate the new Lebara SIM on the day your old number ports to 3. This will start the billing month.
The day after your number ports to 3, request PAC from 3 and give to Lebara to port into new SIM. If Lebara's system gives you a port date of two working days, just go onto online chat and ask them to pull it forward to the next working day.
You can add the new SIM to your Lebara account either before or after your number ports back. If you add it before the port, the number will automatically update once the port completes.
    That's about it! (edited)

Is Lebara reliable? This seems like a good deal even after the 6 months are up?
    Mortal.Wombat's avatar
Excellent in my opinion. My phone is on Vodafone corporate and the wife and DD have been on Lebara for over a year and there's no difference in coverage or speed that we have noticed.

I've used their web chat once when DD ran out of credit and that was all smooth and helpful.

I also managed to get a £50 Amazon voucher when I ported the second SIM in on a similar 12gb deal. It took about 6 months but all came through.

I love being able to see both the accounts on their app and see the data and international minutes remaining. My wife has family in France so we've dumped our international land line calls package and she just rings on her mobile.

Im now paying £6.90 per SIM but am happy with that. If it was just me, I might port out and in after the introductory period ends but it's not worth the hassle if it's someone else's phone that they rely on.

In short, thumbs up from me.
  13. Jay_Patel6cq's avatar
Can this be cancelled on the 6th month once £1 offer ends?
    AW10's avatar
Been switching regularly for the past few years, and like you was very apprehensive at first.

    Cancellation is easy.
Either from Lebara app or website, login, then just cancel the "auto renew".

This can be done at anytime, but best to do it just after the 5th months £1 renewal.

Once cancelled, you still have all privileges until the end (of the paid for period) at 5th month.

    Porting is quick & easy

    Hope this helps. (edited)

Not sure why you'd take this over the 15 GB deal that's still active... cold until that expires, then hot

Anyone wanting to stay on it after 6 months pays a quid less on this.

Just a heads up to anyone already on, or planning on joining Lebara with a pixel phone who values WiFi calling - the previous workaround to get WiFi calling with pixel phones is not working with the latest version of android (March update).

Worth deferring this update if you value WiFi calling.

Hopefully the developer of the pixel IMS app will have a fix soon 🤞
    ally_n_2000's avatar
Does VoLTE work on the latest Android march update?

I read somewhere that it got fixed and the option now appears in the settings.

How easy is it to move from an existing Lebara 30 day sim to this one? Can I just request it against the same number or do I need to get a PAC code?
    Hutchyy's avatar
If you want to keep the same number then you need to pac out to another provider and then port back in. There's a guide in the description of this deal: hotukdeals.com/sha…293

Anything like this with slightly more data around at the minute?
  23. TristanDeCoonha's avatar
Remember to change the number in the google messaging if you are keeping your own number, and then reboot. Otherwise it will pick up, and send messages as if from, the number last associated with the Sim.

As someone who is technically illiterate if I have a sim only now with O2 and want to switch to this offer do I buy it first then contact 02 to cancel and switch my number?

I have been doing this dance for many years now. Just requires discipline to use your phone's calendar to set reminders. I do miss the 1p and 5p deals though.

Anyone know if I can use an existing Lebara SIM, that I ordered but never activated, with this new deal? Or do I need to order yet another SIM in the post?

Must be a new sim ordered specifically with this deal preloaded to it.

Hi folks can anyone advise please: I have the latest iPhone but need to keep my main physical sim in it along with its number. I’m thinking of getting an eSIM to put a third number on my phone (I have an O2 eSIM @ £10 per month). Can these Lebara ones work as esims? Or any other advice? I think eSIM technology may have improved over the last year or two. Thanks.
    KodaBear's avatar
Lebara UK is only available as a physical SIM. If you need an eSIM you'll have to look at other companies.

Vodafone, O2, Three, EE, Giffgaff, Spusu, Honest Mobile and the other 'L' network we don't talk about anymore on this website all do eSIM off the top of my head.

I'm in a dilemma here! Currently , I'm on a previous Lebara 5GB deal and got caught this month by it running out, meaning I've just paid the "after three months price". I actually thought it was four moths but couldn't find any confirmation mails or anything on my account saying when it was due to run out. Neither did the email saying the were about to take payment, so I'm a bit narked at being stung with the monthly uplift.

Now, my dilemma is, whilst obviously I'm going to ditch the deal I'm on because there are better ones for less and far better ones for about the same as my current price of £4.99.

I've already got the SIM for this deal but will have to port in and out but that's not an issue as i just got the Moto Edge 40 deal, so have the Three SIM available to do the port dance.

But, now there's the Smarty 40GB for £5.25 for 15 months available, my quandary is that I use very little data currently and this one would probably be more than I'd ever need. But, it's likely that in 6 months I'll get caught again because I won't remember to sort another deal in time! And then I'll have to do the porting in and out or go elsewhere entirely as well.

Or, I could take the Smarty deal, have no worries about remembering or needing to change anything until next year but pay a fiver a month.

Take this new deal and even if you forget in the future you will still be saving money just swap and change again after this deal expires.

Can't say a bad thing about Lebara. The services has worked flawlessly for me since I took a similar deal out two years ago. I've been the normal rate of £6.90 since and I don't care. It's worth it.

I can't be bothered with the poking around to save £30 over six months.

They don't bother me and I don't bother them because it just works. (edited)

Same here. I took out the 5gb deal over last year & it works great. No issue porting either. It even worked in Goa.
  32. jedijacobs's avatar
    Isn't the 15GB deal better?

Easy to cancel before it goes up?

Just remove your payment option. Or porting out will cancel it too.

Cracking deals again these with Lebara. Had 5 contracts running with them for years now for the whole family. Just wish I could get these new deals without double porting 5 numbers!

Is the 15gb for 99p deal not better? it's not actually expired even though it says it is on hotukdeals and can sstill be taken out. I know the post 6 month price will be higher but who really goes onto that and doesn't just double port and come back on the next cheap lebara deal?
    t3r4's avatar
Most people aren't double porting... or they wouldn't offer it, most of the world isn't HUKD lol
