If you are currently with Lebara, have fewer than 4 SIMs to the same email address, want to use this plan and still want keep your current number (eventually), here are the porting steps as per my previous comment:
  • buy this plan (wait and get a new Lebara SIM, keep safe for later)
  • request for a PAC code from your existing Lebara plan
  • get a free altnerate provider SIM (e.g.: ASDA PAYG SIM, or Three PAYG SIM)
  • submit the PAC to the alternate provider, to move your number from Lebara to another provider
  • once the number has ported to the alternate provider, wait 1 day for the number to fully register on their system
  • ask for a PAC from this alternate provider
  • provide this PAC to Lebara (via this Lebara form, or web chat, or call Lebara's customer services), to move the number from alternate provider to Lebara (this new plan).

What's the cheapest deal to port out on from lebara then back to this? 6 months makes it finally worth it
    xPabloz's avatar
    Three sim.

However want to mention if you get one make sure you remember the DOB you enter when you get one.

I luckily has screenshot however accidentally put 1900 in dob. So now sending text with the word PACDOB or PAC DOB to 65075 fails saying cant verify account. In the end i had to create account wait a day to get the pac code via the website/app (edited)

Thank you . How does it work then please? Do they take the full monthly first payment ?
    Listy2021's avatar

They'll take the £1 then you have 30 days to activate the SIM, then they'll take the next month until you cancel it (really easy to do just switch auto renew off in the app or on the website)

If anyone has a split port issue (ie phone calls working but SMS showing as the wrong number) - go into messaging settings (android phones) and turn off RCS chat if it's enabled. Fixed my problem.
    t3r4's avatar
You can turn it back on in a week or two, it'll sort itself out.

    Any cheaper deals at all??

Why is south Africa never included in the international minutes countries or Pakistan (edited)
    itsmewhoami's avatar
You have previously asked the same question already. You have also commented on the 1p (per month for first 3 months) TalkHome SIM only deal.

Sadly the days of 1p Lebara SIM deals from previous years, seems to be over.

Depending on your data usage, I don't think £1/month for 15GB is that poor value.

Can't answer for certain why about S. Africa / Pakistan not included in IDD deals.

However, my guess would be the MVNOs might have different agreements with various roaming and international calling operators or brokers, and those countries are more costly for Lebara's (and other operators') agreements, than those on offer? (edited)

I have this deal but the speed is only 2mpbs and sometimes no internet. My daughter uses Lyca(EE) and gets 40mbps. Any deals on Lyca?
    KodaBear's avatar
If you look on Uswitch you'll find some. They aren't allowed here on HUKD so you've got to do some searching around yourself.

Alternatively there's TalkHome Mobile who are allowed on this website and use the same EE Signal. All deals are linked below. 30 Day rolling plans with first 3 months discounted.

    talkhome.co.uk/sim…192 1p>£5 4GB
    talkhome.co.uk/sim…193 99p>£8 8GB
    talkhome.co.uk/sim…194 £1.99>£10 20GB
    talkhome.co.uk/sim…180 £6.50>£15 50GB
    talkhome.co.uk/sim…181 £8.50>£20 100GB

    Question for experts please.
If I order the SIM today. i.e. 07 Feb 2024 and pay £1 and it arrives in 2-3 days but .....I activate the SIM on 07 March 2024. my 06 months £1 deal will 'start from '07 March and end on 07 September' or it will end on 06 August 2024. I mean the LAST £1 payment will fall on 06 Aug or 06 September. ! (edited)
    Wammer's avatar
If you activate on 7th March (cutting it a bit fine), it will end on 3rd September. It doesn't renew on a calendar month, it's every 30 days.

You will get an email advising that it will renew in 17 days and another the day before renewal is due. As long as you turn off Auto Renew before 3rd September, you won't be charge the higher amount.

By my calculations, your final (6th) payment would be 4th August, but don't turn off auto renew until just before 3rd September. (edited)

I’m suffering from split port issue atm. Three are looking into it but they are vague on timescales. Can I request a PAC code from Three while it’s suffering split port and go back to Lebara with that Three PAC code?
Will this cause more chaos or fix the issue?
    KodaBear's avatar
The only place you can port during a split port is back to the network who originally supplied your phone number when you first got it. This cancels all porting and forwarding and fixes the issue.

If you port it anywhere else, you'll complicate things to a point where your phone number will probably never work again.

Depending upon how badly things have split, Three may not be able to generate a PAC for you until it's fixed anyway though.
  17. Love_Bargains's avatar
Does anyone know of any providers that I can port in and out without having to top up?
    KodaBear's avatar
Three PAYG is the common one these days.
  18. harmageddon's avatar
i dont have time to wait for this to arrive (holiday) could i pick up a lebara sim from local shops and add this plan to it? anyone know how i could do it given shot time before hols?
    KodaBear's avatar
Nope it's definitely not possible. If you pick one up anywhere else you'll pay standard retail pricing from day one.

As tonymx has said though, there are other providers available who do eSIM for immediate activation of deals. Check a couple of SIM Only comparison tools and you'll find a few introductory offers you can download and activate as an eSIM Today.

I tried to cancel one of these deals with Lebara before, and it was a nightmare. They told me it was cancelled but continued to take the money out of my bank account. I called them various times for several months for a refund and cancellation, but they would still continue. Finally they stopped after many complaints. Nightmare.

You can do what you want when you want via the app or website login.
  25. HKmilktea's avatar
I always have question about the monthly payment of these plans, let say if I just paid for a monthly fee 2 days ago, and I decided to port out, how much would I be paying for the extra few days of uses? Another whole month? Nothing or by how many days?
    KodaBear's avatar
With Lebara it's pay as you go with a monthly bundle on top. So you pay upfront for the month ahead. If you decide to leave you lose the remainder of the month you've paid upfront for. No refunds. So try to port out when you only have a day or two left before your bundle expires if you want to get full value for your money.

With other networks if you have a proper SIM contract with them and are moving to/from Lebara then the other network will likely give you pro-rata charges for you final bill so you only pay for the days your number was actually on their network instead.

Do you need to turn on Auto top up once activated sim? Or no need? I paid originally by PayPal the £1
    luke_coverdale's avatar
No you dont, the sim automatically comes with 'auto renew' enabled which means the plan renews every month with your 15gb allowance for £1, it changes after 6 months but you can toggle off the auto renew button anytime and your plan will end. The auto top up facility is simply added additional credit to use for services that are not within your plan.

    Hi
    A quick question
If get this deal and activate the sim start of next month (because my current package just renewed 5th of this month) will my contract start from the day of activation or the day i bought sim?
    steve252's avatar
    There is no contract.

First month is paid for when you buy the SIM and begins when you activate the SIM.

Second month is paid for when first month ends.

    Wammer's avatar
You need to activate the sim within 30 days of purchase. So may be worth waiting till closer to the expiry date of the offer if you don't need them in the next month.
  32. mstrb8r's avatar
Boo! I'm on £1.99/month 6 months 15GB. Next time eh
    MK5HashTag66's avatar
You could order a SIM from this offer, activate it and stop the renewal from the SIM on the old offer. If you wanted to keep the mobile number attached to the SIM from the old offer, just port out for free, you can order a free intermediary SIM to port the number between to the SIM from this offer by ordering a PAYG 3 SIM from the Three Mobile website or pop in a shop, would recommend a PAYG Asda or PAYG 3 SIM if collecting in person.
Bear in mind that when you request a PAC code on the intermediary SIM, (e.g. 3 or Asda) you typically need to wait 24 hours after activating that SIM to be able to complete the request and receive the PAC by SMS / text message. (edited)

Quick question for anyone in the know. It states " here are the countries included on your plan:

The USA is included so is that for making-receiving calls & texts plus data roaming while in the USA?
    52152976-t2DtL.jpg (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
That's to call from the UK with your 100 free international minutes.

US Roaming with this is not included and is very expensive. There's much better options out there like Three Go Roam on PAYG (12GB), O2 With Volt (25GB), or EE with their roaming pass (50GB)... Depending upon how much you're willing to pay and how much data you want.
  35. rundmck's avatar
My Lebara SIM arrived today, but my 02 month has just renewed. I'm not in contract, but my next bill is 11th March.
If I port out today will I still have to pay 02 the £9 for this month? Should I wait until the start of March
    KodaBear's avatar
If you are on an O2 Pay Monthly contract then your final bill will credit back unused time from the date you port out up to the final date you've currently paid up until. Keep your direct debit open and they'll credit it back eventually.

If you're on Pay and Go, or one of the 'no contract' SIM only rolling plans with a recurring monthly payment then you'll lose any time remaining on your monthly bundle so should keep using it until a few days before renewal now. BUT if you have any cash credit on your account you can contact customer service after the account closes (You'll need the SIM Serial number to hand when you do) and claim a refund of this amount by cheque.
  36. MontBelzoni's avatar
Does the £1 pm start from purchase date or from when you insert SIM i.e if I insert SIM 30 days after purchase will the price increase after 5 months or 6 months ? thanks (edited)
    steve252's avatar
First month is paid for when you buy the SIM and starts when you activate it.

2nd month is paid for and starts when 1st month expires.

    7th month is higher price.
  37. MontBelzoni's avatar
Coming from the original 1p per month 3gb lebara deal I think we are slowly being weened by these companies onto higher data usage (and higher prices)

That said am not going to begrudge £1 per month (currently paying 45p a month with lyka 3gb which is coming to an end soon.
    t3r4's avatar
You can swap Lebara plans without doing the double port, eg to the £4.40 3GB £4.90 5GB or £6.95 15GB plan, you just don't get the intro offer

Has anyone tried to port an old Lebara over to Lebara. I mean it is worth trying it would save the headache.
    KodaBear's avatar
It's not possible to port with a PAC into the same network (With exception of O2 PAYG to O2 PAYM as they are two separate networks) so it will fail if you try it.

You must go to another provider first then back. Or start over with a new phone number. There's no way around that. If you don't want the hassle you'd have to accept Lebara's standard monthly pricing and stick with what you have.
