Asda is giving a Leffe chalice alongside a purchase of either 12x330ml case of Leffe Blonde (£13) or 6x250ml Leffe Alcohol Free (£4.50)

The glass is marked as a half pint, but holds a 330ml bottle nicely. £13 is a standard price for a case of leffe blonde as well.

The self checkout didn't take off the price of the glass though, and had to ask the staff but they were happy to remove it.

this is an Inbev product from the same company that is involved in the Budlight scandal in the US , some people may have an issue with purchasing from that particular company and others may not . also by reducing the alc vol they are in fact tampering with the recipe , in my view degrading it

Inbev also tampered with the Stella beer recipe reducing the % from 5.2 to 4.6% these changes are never advertised

I thought it was just me when I thought the taste changed, I didn't have any idea it had actually been changed.

Only a matter of time before they also ruin Leffe Brune. Shame new Leffe Blonde drinkers like the taste, it’s a poor reflection on what it used to be like.

The problem being you’d have to buy leffe in the first place.

When did they change Leffe Blond? Haven't bought it for a while and looks like I won't be buying it again from the comments here!

Why did you scan the glass if it's free anyway?
    Heat added. (edited)

It was on the shelf with a label for £5 so it's available to buy as well.

I just assumed the checkout would automatically apply a discount because it's in the same transaction as the beer 🤷

Bought yesterday, unimpressed with the glass quality and the beer.
    Wont buy again.

Why does it only appear to be the UK were these brewers are lowering abv? Is it extra tax the government is taking?
    Rickardo's avatar
Yep, is the tax - drinkflation

Did you actually get the glass free? I've argued with a asda in Dundee many times about this they advertise free glass but charge you due to scottish licencing laws they cannot give you a free glass unless it's in an enclosed case.
