Good deal for AO five star members, £906 for 48” OLED TV with free sondbar.

Product Overview

This 48-inch LG OLED smart TV is full of top-notch tech. Sit back, get comfy, and enjoy an absolutely stunning view with its 4K Ultra HD screen. It brings out loads of detail, especially when combined with Brightness Booster tech – perfect for box set binges or movie marathons. As for contrast, LG’s self-lit OLED evo panel means deeper, richer blacks for that added realism without any washed-out images spoiling things. You can even give classics the same treatment thanks to the clever α9 Gen 6 AI Processor. Just imagine skipping down the Yellow Brick Road in 4K – amazing. Plus, you’ll be able to find some golden oldies to test it with webOS, which gives you loads of streaming apps to choose from.

We want you to fully enjoy your new TV, so please be careful when unpacking it to avoid putting any pressure on the screen. There are a few different ways to get it out safely, so look for the instructions on the box. If you need to return your TV for any reason, we just ask that you don't pack the plug in front of the screen as it could damage the TV in transit.

Key Features
  • 4K OLED — Stunning sharpness and crystal clarity
  • webOS — Watch Freeview Play, Netflix, Disney+ and more
  • LG self-lit OLED evo — Deeper blacks & brighter whites
  • Brightness Booster — Images are up to 20% brighter
  • α9 Gen 6 AI Processor — AI upscaling for images & sound

RicherSounds offed a price match of £896 on this (including the free soundbar), then I realised I could use PerksAtWork as above, so went direct with LG.com for £822. (edited)

Richer Sounds wouldn't price match for me, might see if I can via LG direct instead

Bought this morning for £822 for LG direct with a 20% code through employer discount scheme. Worth checking with family / friends if they have access to a code!

Decent price but the 1 year warrenty is a bit of a deal breaker for me

Does this have black frame insertion? Someone said they removed it from recent versions
    Tech-Tastic's avatar
They removed BFI on the C2/G2 onwards, you would have to find a C1/G1 or CX for BFI

Bugger, bought one 2 weks ago for a similar price, missed out on the soundbar though

Contact them to ask if you can have the soundbar, of course you don’t want to return the TV I’m sure

Can anyone tell me how to connect this for audio out to a Sonos system via wi-fi or ethernet? 🙏
    mrcashman's avatar
If you want to connect to a Sonos speaker it needs to be a TV soundbar and will need to be connected via a cable (HDMI / optical out ) depending on which soundbar you have. You can't go from the TV to a Sonos speaker without wires.

Once you have it connected to the soundbar any additional surrounds or sub bases will be wireless. (edited)

But that's only if you from LG store. With AO it's only 1 year.

    Any deal on 77inch?

Not cheap, but it's a premium OLED.

Waiting now for mainstream manufacturers to pick up Sharp's new QDEL technology, quantum dot self-emissive displays. These TVs will have identical if not better PQ than OLED, pure blacks with potentially superior brightness levels and colour gamut, superior longevity and no image retention, and importantly can be produced in a standard LCD assembly line with no requirement for a vacuum as for OLEDs thus keeping costs down.

Was about to say but self emissive

This technology from sharp sounds impressive, especially if an techy put a 30" screen for a secret demo, it does sound like they took the best bits from LCD, LED, QD and all off OLED and made it their own without the high cost or issues.

If it can release and be competitive is another ball game though.

I know the G2/3 models have a heatsink, initially I was of the understnading the C3 didn't however, after speaking to a staff at my local TV store they said it does, it was the C2 and before that didn't?

I was initially leaning towards the G2 but now am contemplating the C3 if it has a heatsink as you can use a wider arrange of 3rd party wall brackets taht allow full swivel, unlike the G2 which I believe you are limited to unless you use the inbuilt bracket, which is very basic.
    ShopCom123's avatar
Not to sure, my understanding was same as yours that the G series had the heatsink which is why they can go considerably brighter than the C series.

I bought mine from LG store for £976, a week ago. It was delivered Friday, I powered it up and there is a plastic? burning smell coming from back of TV. I am now waiting for someone from LG to contact me regarding the replacement they promised (mad).
    trancefreak87's avatar
Have you taken the plastic film off from the back of the TV?

I was torn between the c2,c3 and the epsom 4k projector recently listed.

I went into my local richer sounds. They couldn't price match AO due to the warranty difference.
They showed me a top range 4k projector in day light and in ideal conditions. So that made me rethink the projector I ordered.

The best richer sounds could do is £890 on the c2, and possibly £1040 on the c3. Both 48" models.

Going to have a think, and may collect the c2 tomorrow.

C3 is £899 at Costco (excluding soundbar) if they'll match that instead? (edited)
