    McAfee is malware

    Any evidence to it?

Microsoft have rejected the extra three months and when I contacted them on live chat they said it can only be claimed when you buy hardware and M365 Family.

Has anybody else had this problem?

    Cheers

I was rejected twice and contacted the live chat. There is confusion about the 'qualifying product' which is not clear, but you need to have bought a bundle

McAfee and this is the qualifying product that makes this a bundle.

You need to upload both the receipt for O365 and McAfee before you qualify for the 'Bundle' 3 month add-on.

I got my 3 months extra when I did this

Can't have 6TB on one account? Was looking for cloud storage options earlier. (edited)
    Stitch123's avatar
No but you can set up 6 with different emails but then share all the storage to one account and access all 6TB from one OneDrive account. That’s how I do it anyway. I have accounts 2,3,4,5,6 with a shared folder in at root that account 1 has access to. So account one effectively has 6TB of storage accessible to it. Been doing it this way for years.

    Can these be stacked?

EDIT - Looks like they can be stacked for 5 years. (edited)

So I can buy two of this offer and that will get me 30 months of MS and 24 months of Mcafee?
    Or have I misunderstood stacking

I'm a little confused, I signed up to Office 365 in 2018 and paid £49, I still have what appears to be a lifetime license. Have they changed Office 365 so you only purchase a few months at a time?
    Youngy's avatar
Best check your card statements, you don't get Office365 lifetime license for £49. You either purchased Office 2019 perpetual license without upgrades, or Office365 subscription and been charged every year.

Currently have 12 months of 365 Personal remaining - what happens if I add this 15 months Family plan to it....anyone know?
    Garyb71's avatar
When I went for this last year, the remaining Personal subscription, for a couple of months, was lost. So better off waiting until Personal is nearly finished..
It did warn me it would do this but it didn’t really matter to me at the time.

I've never understood why people pay an annual subscription for this when you can buy a 'secondhand' lifetime licence perfectly legally. Although Microsoft don't like it, it has been established by the courts that they can't stop licences that are no longer used or have never been used (but bought in bulk by large corporations) being sold on to third parties, who then sell them at a fraction of the original cost.

I have never paid an annual subscription for any software, and recently bought a lifetime licence to Office 2021 (which is virtually identical to 365) from Ecokeys for £18.49. (edited)

I was going to increase my Google Drive subscription, but the 1TB and Office subscription offered here is a no brainer.

Use Google Drive for daily use, OneDrive for long-term storage, and get hassle free Office too - win/win/win.
    EndemicAlarm's avatar
That's the kicker, even getting 200gb for free with Opinion Rewards... the next jump up from there is huge. Still, It's £44 vs nothing. Hmmm

Don't waste your money on this. Use C D ke ys and it's priced less than this. £18.99. just Google them
    kanesurveys's avatar
Does CD Keys option gives you 6TB data? And is £18.99/ year?

Is Mcafee any good for anti virus protection as they used to be rubbish

Sell it on eBay. I got a tenner for it last year but think it’s a bit less now.

  12. GazW1888's avatar
Should I activate the product before applying for the additional 3 months or should I apply for the 3 months first and then activate after?
    GazW1888's avatar
Activated first then claimed 3 months. All worked no problem

Genuine question. Why pay for this when Google docs is free?
    vb90's avatar
I tried following the free/open source document softwares and I am afraid it doesn't work for anything remotely professional because most companies use Microsoft. I tried libre docs, google docs and open office. When I would apply for jobs, my cv would get reformatted when opening in MS office. Adobe pdf would reformat it too. Was literally rejected from job applications because of it with a feedback saying cv is not professional enough.
Also if you receive a word or excel file and you rely on macros, they all stop working too.
The only way it works is if you don't share files or rely on open formats only when saving files which most don't do

There used to be a trick where you could set up reoccurring billing, choose to cancel, and it would offer you 3 months not to cancel it. This seems to have gone now, but if you cancel reoccurring billing it looks like it offers you another month for free if you turn it back on:

Another month for a few clicks. (edited)
    benjos's avatar
I just did this successfully. I went to turn it off, it offered me 2 free months to keep it on. Redeemed those. Turned it off. Then it offered me another free 1 month to turn it back on, turned it back on, got that and then turned off again. Gained 3 months for nothing - thanks for the tip! May be account specific if you have already used the trick
  15. nomnomnomnom's avatar
Also managed to get a successful claim for the additional 3 months.
I went with the subscription option. For the first receipt, I used a screenshot that shows Office + McAfee. For the second one receipt, I used the McAfee email with the product key in (blurred it out though).
Took about 10 mins and got the key for another 3 months.

All in, that's 16 months with the trick in my last post. Thanks Op!
  16. HughJeejit's avatar
Make sure you upload both receipts from Argos, which are emailed separately. for both 365 and Mcafee to qualify for the extra 3 months

Did anyone experience any delays with receiving the link after purchasing? It's been over 2 hours and I'm still waiting.

I had thought the 15 month deals would come to an end sometime this month. Though from the 365 promo link, it is for purchases to the end of May 2024 and claim by the end of June.

Am I right in saying that you can use any random email address that you have to get the sign up code and then sign into your "normal" Argos account to use the code? (edited)

    Yes
  22. TechJunkie's avatar
Thank you. I cancelled my amazon purchase of £53.

So MS offer a free 1 month trial, can you start that trial and then apply this redemption code, and then to claim the extra 3 months too? That's what I'm going to try anyway.
    Thanks
    mgk's avatar
    Yes you can

Can this be used instead of renewing an existing O365 account? Mine's due to renew in Feb.
    biggie333's avatar
Yes just did. instructions as provided in the email you get with the code

Go to microsoft365.com/setupLog in with your Microsoft account, or create an account, if you haven't got one yet.
Take note of this account, so that you can install Office at a later date without a product key or reinstall it. Enter your Office product key without the hyphens. Follow the instructions to complete the redemption process.
