It’s actually a lot easier to get a child into a rear facing seat than it is to get them into a forward facing seat. Think about how the car door opens, to get them in forward facing you have to stand where the door is attached to the car - when they are rear facing you stand further back, in the big side gap where the door has opened. The only exception where it would possibly be more awkward to get the rear facing child in is if your car was a Vauxhall Meriva with the ‘back to front’ rear doors!

I have this in dark grey . I paid £300 for just the buggy and pram top. Had to buy the car seat separate.. and 6 months ago that was a bargain. So this is a very good deal . Pram is comfy. Buggy is great. Would recommend. Check prices elsewhere to see the difference. Unsure what colour foggy is but looks nice

How does this compare to the quality of buying individual items? I have 0 experience and the time to buy for a newborn to be is getting close.

Yes it appears that the picture is misleading. The description says lime green. The one I have is not the same, it's a different make but yellow.

Its not actually yellow when you get it. It’s like a lime green kind of colour. It’s not bad. We bought it as a holiday pushchair. It’s lasted 3 trips abroad and my parents use it at their house when my little one is over there

Have to agree- wipes clean easy.. No food stuck everywhere. All modular so bits can be replaced and collapses easy for outings to friends/family/meal etc.

Agreed these sloped back high chairs are a joke. Imagine trying to eat on a sun lounger and that’s basically what you’re asking your kid to do. We had one of these. Binned it and got the ikea one. Bolt upright and the kids loved it and immediately ate better. Good price but frankly a poorly designed product.

Voted hot for great price, and will be perfectly good for purpose however I've just had baby number three and this time bought a baby bjorn highchair, if price isn't an issue this is so much better as no straps to get messy and so easy to clean. I've also head very good things about the ikea chair for value if price is an issue I had high chairs like this for the first two, they were fine but I was glad to dump them when the time came as they were pretty gross by then...for £20 though it is a good deal

Note that some other cheaper Graco car seats (the junior maxi for example) are Which? don't buy due to poor crash test protection. These are independent tests carried out to try and identify seats which though they pass basic tests when they go on sale, are not as safe as some other seats. This particular model has not been tested by which so it's difficult to say how good it is. It may be ok, or it may not be. If you're buying a child car seat you should consider if this is the right deal for you. See other Graco deals in the past for more info. Which reviews can often be found at your local library.

The Best Buy ones are mostly Britax, Cybex and Kiddy. However the Joie seats are much more affordable and only a few points below the ‘Best Buy’ seats that are twice the price. I know other independent child seat advisors use the Joie high backed boosters, I have a Cybex one and a Britax one but I don’t think you have to spend a fortune if you don’t want to. Essentially all a high backed booster does is lift your child up so that the seatbelt can fit them properly, as long as it has some side impact protection too you don’t have to spend over £100.

What are there recommend seats please?

It’s still on the Which? website as a ‘Don’t Buy’ seat with a score of 20% “Despite being fairly easy to use, and offering average front-crash protection, the side protection of this seat is so poor, with or without the hi-back on, that it automatically becomes a Which? Don’t Buy.”

I think the above list is looking at good high backed booster seats only? There are other which best buy seats for group 2-3 sized children. Which reports are often accessible through your local library.

From 9m? Aren't all highchair design to be used from 6m onwards? Some people even start using these before 6m!

the basic ikea one is perfectly fine. My only gripe is that it would be great if the tray could slide closer to the child so not so much food falls on the floor. But then again I'm looking at spending about £100 more for models like that!

Try IKEA, rather nice high chair.. you would be surprised at the price

I have had 3 of these high chairs over the last 9 years and they are fine, after all who wants to leave baby in there for hours on end !! Used for babies from around 9 months until almost 3 years they are compact and easy to clean

Don't ever buy baby stuff from Smyths. If there is problem with it they will fight tooth and nail not to give you a refund.

Be warned some seats don’t fit all cars. Check manufacturer website for compatibility

This one has a seat belt tension locking clip. It feels very secure when fitted with the seat belt.​ :) Pull the belt as tight as you can while pushing the child seat back into the cars own seat as you lock it and you should be sorted.

​This is a bigger picture car seat. It is a group 123 seat. Isofix can only be used to fit a group one seat in place as it is only suitable to restrain up to18kg. At group 2 and 3 it is the cars own seatbelt holds it in place. Isofix in a high back booster would only prevent it from moving if the child isn't in it. It's convenience not safety for 123 seats as it does not reduce the importance of the seat belt being routed correctly in group 2 or 3 mode. Which is true of any high back booster.

Tell that to my daughter who will be 6 in three months time and has a rear facing seat. Children will naturally sit cross-legged, or find another position that is comfortable. The only complaint about legs we get in our car is from our 9 year old when we are on long journeys - her legs ache from dangling in mid-air off the front of her high backed booster with no support.

Good to know it’s a non iso-fix seat as my car doesn’t have iso-fix.

I think so, as the video suggests that they are compatible. I have both here still in the box I will check. Updated: Yes they are compatible
