Each POCO F3 review notes the low price point of the phone compared to the stunning range of features it packs in. In Android Headlines, H Ranpura praises the ‘high-end specs at an unbelievably low price’, whilst in Android Authority, C Scott Brown points out that is it the ‘notable features that set it apart from other phones in its price range'. They also focus on the big, colourful screen and the high processing speeds. POCO F3 Features
- Design
This phone has a shiny finish that looks incredible and gives it the appearance of a far more expensive device. On the rear, the back panel is glossy and mirrored. This can attract fingerprints, but a clear case takes care of that problem. The phone has an aluminium frame paired with sturdy Gorilla Glass 5 securing the back and front panels. Tucked away on the side of the phone there is a fingerprint scanner, but you can also use AI Face Unlock to open the interface.
- Display
The POCO F3 has a Full HD display measuring 6.67-inches which provides a great viewing experience. The 120Hz refresh rate keeps the visuals sharp and smooth, while the AMOLED panel delivers a rich colour palette. If you prefer to use a phone with one hand, the larger size of this phone won’t be ideal. However, people who are planning to stream media and play high-end games are more likely to consider the large size a bonus.
- Performance
A Snapdragon 870 chipset makes light work of day to day browsing, messaging and scrolling, providing seamless navigation between apps. Lags are rare and with 6GB of RAM in the cheapest version, the POCO F3 is comfortable when tackling complex tasks.
- Software
The MiUI 12 software may be a cause of frustration due to the amount of pre-installed apps and pop-up adverts which may soon start to feel intrusive. Aside from this, it is user-friendly and easy to pick up.
- Battery
A 4520mA battery keeps the big screen powered during standard usage but videos and games can drain it swiftly. On light use, you will probably have a full day of browsing and texting on one charge, but you can save power with the 60Hz option if you need it to last longer. Like most Xiaomi phones the POCO F3 can be fast-charged using a 33W adapter included.
- Photography
The main sensor includes a 48MP lens and will produce great shots in daylight conditions. Images look bright and colourful, as well as being packed with detail. The 8MP ultrawide lens provides less detail on landscapes and the 5MP macro lens is also slightly disappointing. A Night Mode option minimises glare and enhances colour, but in low light, the POCO F3 camera images lack quality.
- Speakers
The stereo speakers are located in the earpiece, on the top of the phone and on the frame. There is also a speaker on the bottom of the phone. In all this figuration creates loud, clear sound with high, mid and bass notes equally represented.
