I wish this was the war hammer one (mad) 😩
All Total War Discounts, Offers and Sale - November 2018
It's still £37.85 including all the DLC, for a game which came out over 2 years ago (annoyed)
The first pic looks quite Dungeon Keeper-esque... Happy days! 👹
The intial complaints were infounded.... there are literally hundreds of free mods... mortal empires etc and many others are free. It is a superb game with real difficulty....but adding the mods do enhance it.
I can't see it cheaper either, good price
Despite being a good Despite being a good game it received quite a bit of criticism because you have to buy the first game and DLC in order to unlock everything in this one. That increases the cost significantly and has alienated a lot of players.
Good price, cannot find a cheaper alternative, don't understand the cold votes
where is it cheaper thanks?
No... PM me the code...
Never buy from steam ever? But I got £40 in vouchers with my motherboard. Am I allowed to spend that?
WH1 is kinda obsolete now too due to ME if you own both... BUT ME runs like dog crap... really slow turn times even on the very best of PCs. BTW ME is Mortal Empires, WH1 and 2 maps combined in to a grand campaign, you need both games to unlock it. Also CA seem to never patch the game until they release DLC these days... so theres bugs from release still in the game and they fix like 1 or 2 each DLC. End of the day, is it worth £10? yes! but can you get a better deal with all DLC? yes, never buy direct from steam EVER.
Even in this sale, if you don't want half a game and get the DLC the entire lot will still cost you over £48 (annoyed)
I just opened this deal post thinking the same thing. It’s been this price several times
Ah that may go some way to explaining it. They are now back on the SEGA Approved List. The code 'bluewinter' works for 20% off.
This is merely my opinion, but it may have something to do with the Two Point Hospital fiasco. There was a lot of confusion and upset when Steam linked a news article advertising the game with a hefty discount at launch. Customers who pre-ordered the game on Steam misinterpreted it as an official discount by Sega and felt hard done by.
Ordered Football Manager 19 for £22.85!! Thanks so much!!!
Same here, best price for a long while I'd imagine 8)
I didn't mean (or say) that HUKD have a vetting process against grey market keys - only that they have a vetting process for the companies that have deals listed for them. Presumably to make sure its a legit company and that HUKD's users aren't going to get shafted by using a deal found on the site.
I presume it must be at least 5p cheaper than previously posted to justify the heat ? Gamers always seem easily pleased :( - or more likely , just vote any gaming deal hot :S
Contains everything apart from the new dlc that came out recently?
Picked up empire total war collection for under 3 quid as well Great find op. Thanks
Can you elaborate on how it's unbalanced?
Not heard about it, might need to have a look. cheers
Recommend Radious mod; dramatically improves the game's balance. (which is rather poor out of the box)
Thanks ,was actually thinking of buying this earlier today, so at this price I got it.
Agree a lot of repeatability
I got it recently. I completed it as the Empire and now I’m completing it as Dwarves. Each faction is quite different and worth replaying.
Cheapest ive ever seen yes... game had one day deal for like 13 12.99 or something and it sat at 19.99 for ages it seemed to hold its value for a long time but ye ive bought it because ive never seen it cheaper so if u been interested in trying it.. i mean.. for the price of 1 2 hour cinema ticket you get so many hours of fun, cant go wrong.
Cheapest it's ever been?
Cos they're totally different games? Magic orc marines vs Napoleonic wars See?
Personally, because I like the Napoleonic era. Each to their own as ever, but for me it's worth a fiver to stand my redcoats in line and blow away the French columns. :)
Its old crap... u can pick up warhammer 1 for a tenner... why play this mess?
I can’t remember why but think I preferred Empire Total War rather than Napoleon for some reason...haven’t played this for years. Good price
This says shogun 2 and rome 2 are the easiest... I have them both in a humble bundle! <maybe> they improved the UI in the second games to get people on board? https://steamcommunity.com/app/34330/discussions/0/1620599015889948917/
I find the whole concept of super warriors a bit disconcerting as would like to use the rock paper scissor basics of say infantry and artillery and cavalry
Thanks! I guess I am looking for one easy to play with a good tutorial to get me into it. I vaguely remember renting it on pc ageeeeeesss ago and did not have a manual only the cd rom and I got a bit lost!
It depends what you're looking for. Fantasy or Historical. I'm also pretty new to the franchise, did my research before deciding which on to play first. Ended up buying Total War: Rome 2 because i'm a big fan of the time period, but there is a learning curve. Also, Rome 2 was not well received by the fans on launch, because of bugs and been stripped of certain features. The game is over 5 years old now, so you can probably get the game and all dlc for cheap, when it's on sale. Rome 2 is actually still getting dlc. Shogun 2, Medieval 2 and the first Rome game, are all highly regarded. Depends on how far in the series you want to go back to. Maybe check out some videos on youtube because it can be a bit overwhelming at first. They're all on sale at the Gameplanet, but it's a flash sale and it'll expire by tomorrow morning.
Oh tempted.. Never got into total war games. This could be a great entry? I do have some on humble bundle but was not sure where to start!
Expired.. it's 41.99 now.
Might you be CPU bound? Dunno what the game is like on CPU but Ivy Bridge is getting on a bit now... What res you playing at?
I5 skylake 16gb ddr4 Ssd 1060 6gb MSI twin frozr Maxed and plays smoothly. Although I still play at 1080 res.
Really? I'm still on a 980Ti and had no issues, although can't remember the FPS I was pulling. Running on a 2560x1080 monitor too. Seemed smooth for me.
I really struggled to get the 5 hour demo / trial to play smoothly on a 1070ti / SSD / Ivy Bridge 3.4Ghz Quad / 16 GB DDR3. No matter how much I backed off in the graphics settings I still had the common stutter problem. Played better on the XB1X ... sad times lol.
Agreed, the earlier total wars had so much more personality. Nowadays it seems like they just re-hash it over and over. Exact same content, sometimes less so that they can then go on to add "expansions" for more money. I'm not cynical.... (lol)
Good price for Rome 2, voted hot. After playing the original Rome and Rome 2, I personally prefer the original even though it starting to look quite dated its less buggy and more fun to play.
The time spent waiting toward the endgame becomes ridiculous on all the recent games. And yes if we all had the MET office's supercomputers at home then maybe we could run a halfway decent game, but it would still be with a reduced graphics display and no shadows and no fire and a unit size of 10 etc... Medieval 2 had the balance correct, and is infinitely more playable than anything since. Plus you actually get to finish the game which is novel. Empire has a known glitch i've never been able to get around, where it freezes halfway through a campaign, usually on a naval battle. And using autocomplete defeats the purpose of playing a RTS. Shogun had horrendous sea battles, and "fixed" this with Fall of the Samurai which introduced 1-sided sea battles if you pick any side with ironclads. But again, i never actually got to complete a game because it took so long to wait for the AI turns to be done. Basically buy the newer versions of total war if you're all about CPU and SSD and want to START dozens of amazing campaigns. Which i will be doing. Heat added. Game bought. Sigh, i hate this site.
Good price. Just cant get into the more recent total wars, spend more time waiting for the turns to process than you do issuing orders/commands. Medieval 2 was the best. I liked empire total war but it was pretty slow at processing turns, seemed to go downhill from there.
Went to grab it a couple hours ago and it just went back up to full price...damnit, guess I'l have to wait :(
Great game, fantastic variety in races and the Warhammer license is perfect for Total War. I'd always recommend the sequel over this as it fixed some of the issues the original had plus Mortal Empires, but this is a good price for this.
I couldn’t never get into total war until the war hammer ones. Sunk many hours into this and the second one.
Ha. I have some total war bundle from humble not opened... And arma 2.... Company of heroes 2... Civ v... i look forward ro retirement!
I am still addicted to "Rome Total War". Apparently I have 851 hours played according to Steam. I highly recommend that you take the plunge and give it a go. I can't tell you how good Wahammer Total War is though as I still haven't gotten around to playing it... Along with another 160+ games in my Steam library.
Don’t even remember doing it, think it happened putting my phone in my pocket or something :/ Thank you!
Apparently I’ve voted cold on this when it’s blatantly hot, can some kind person counter my fat thumbs please!
Voted hot. I loved the original, might give this one a go.
It's considered to one of the best modern day total war games. It has a 90 on metacritic with a 8.4 user score. Never played the original so can't compare, unfortunately.
how does this compare to the old shogun? like is it a classic I still haven't got around to playing CiV 5 fully yet but wouldnt mind a blast haha
Never mind, it was a throw away comment...
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
Terrible.. just tried to play again but its tedious as fk... such a bad game, avoid it
Really? How about AI?
Bad game.... nothing like TW
Thanks, OP :D
Nice, was just looking to get this, thanks :)
If you have both of them, then it essentially makes the game twice as large with the mortal empires campaign. Not to mention the extended mod support (due to having two games in the series, people just update the mods from the original and just carry them over) The races in the sequel are also great additions. Very varied.
I preferred the first one tbh - it does build upon it but I didn't like the vortex game mechanic - I prefer just to conquer everyone
How does this compare to the first one?
Agreed on the 40k bit, definitely. Guess the nearest you'll get to that at the moment is Dawn of War series but realise its more C&C. 40k armies on this scale would be amazing
heat from me.. though I'm not really into fantasy.. 40k version I would buy straight
gone back up to £22.99 now
Gonna wait for an even cheaper price. Heat though.
If only it was this price on Steam so I could use up some credit!
