Had such a terrible experience with Centres Direct. It's not actually a centralised retailer, it's just a collective front for all the Sony Centres stores. So when you buy on this website, it allocates stock from a specific store and your dealings are with that store from that point on.

I ordered a sound bar from them a couple of years ago. It was allocated from a store quite a long way from me. It arrived badly damaged, in fact the power cord (which was hardwired to the unit) had a pin snapped off the plug, so I couldn't even power it on. There is no centralised customer services, and the store that fulfilled my order wouldn't answer the phone or respond to emails. So I started a chargeback with my bank. As soon as that went through, lo and behold, I got a call from the store manager yelling at me and basically accusing me of retaining the product and claiming money back under false pretenses. He even submitted representation to my bank alleging that I intended to sell the soundbar, or move house and keep it so they could not recover it.

He eventually agreed to arrange to collect the product, and did so. The whole process took 3 months and a lot of totally unnecessary stress and admin.

I'll never buy anything through this site again, and certainly not from the particular store in question.

I bought XM4's and decided it was a bit of an impulse buy so changed my mind and tried to cancel the order at which point I found as you've said, it's not a single online site you're dealing with but a collection of stores. I managed to track down the store that was supplying my order and spoke to them over the phone but they claimed they had no knowledge of such an order so they couldn't cancel it. The same person phoned back about half an hour later to say they'd found the order and dispatched it suffering short term memory loss that I'd just told them to cancel it.

The item arrived and worked fine but I wouldn't use them again because if I had any issues with the item I think it would be a real pain to deal with as you've unfortunately found.

If you contact them via live chat, or phone them you can add 3, 4 or 5 year warranty. I got 4 years for £20 which I thought was worth it. The guy said these are often open box returns so come in original packaging

It'll be a miracle if it lasts 4 years with constant use.

I got some xm4's from the same place, complete with someone else's ear wax - never again

I've just received my order, I messaged them on live on chat to make sure it was legit. I'm very happy with them they are 'like new' and didn't arrive dirty or anything. Maybe I got lucky

I got the same - next day delivery and like new

I've bought a few items from centres direct and so far no issues

Refurbished yes, but a very good price ♨️

Ordered cheers. I have the WH XM5s already but sometimes require something more discreet.
Look like they have reviewed very well.

How do these compare vs XM4's?

Not a bad price. I'll back it!

Reviews of this supplier here alone are enough to discourage me from buying. Price is great otherwise.

Love the headphones but the tips are not easy to clean and the charging case feels very cheap quality

    Has anyone received they order?

    Still not shipped

    Great find, heat added.

I got my order the next day, Saturday (surprised at that...).

And note that the WF-1000XM5 is better than the WF-1000XM4.
