How long does battery mode last?

On first charge (5 Dec 2023), messing around with settings for the 1st week and paired to Homebase 3 for the AI stuff, I got 21 days before the battery was at 4%. I've had 3 firmware updates, supposedly optimising the battery usage & wi-fi connection. Currently on my 2nd charge (7-8 days) and at 91%, according to the app it has been active for 29 days and recorded 2644 events (avg of 91 per day), but also says it detected 5625 events, don't know what counts as a detected event and why it wasn't recorded considering for most of the 29 days it has been setup to record everything. It's hard to gauge as it's relatively new so I assume the battery is still getting conditioned and the firmware updates are affecting consumption.

I would recommend using wired power with it though, more often than not, people can walk 3-4 metres up our driveway onto our steps before it starts recording, even with the motion sensor intervals set to every 2secs. With wired power, you can turn on the 4secs pre-record option so it's always recording and then when the motion sensor gets triggered it has the previous 4 secs to start the clip from. I found upping the motion sensitivity drained the battery a bit too much for my liking.

Problem is, as mentioned by someone else, if you don't already have a hard wired doorbell and want to use a 3-pin plug in adapter, the specs required are a bit weird and I don't think the official Ring adapters will work. eufy's AI chatbot recommends a plug in adapter from Amazon, but the reviews aren't great, apparently it can buzz and fail after some time.

Charging the battery doesn't take a huge amount of time, around 5hrs, just be careful of unplugging too early, I've seen the light turn green then go back to red for a couple of hours before turning back and staying green.

Edit: Seeing J4m3s.B0nd's response below made me realise I'd severely underestimated the avg. daily events by over 3x. Have edited first paragraph to reflect what the app says and not my sleep deprived brain. (edited)

I had it for 2 years .....not waterproof enough to last longer . caution if you thinking of buying it and install it direct outside

That's impressive considering it only came out 3 months ago.

I installed these eufy all the time and they are fussy with the wired cable u use, I settled with buying the whole wired kit instead it's easier.

With the wired version, does it come off with the small pin or is it harder to take off (dont like the idea it can be taken off easily)? Do you know if the homebase with the wired has any benefit or extras you get with combining them?

Any way of expanding that 8GB local storage? Seems low

Only possible using the homebase or a micro SD card in the chime.

Don't buy eufy doorbell. They come with 12 months warranty and trust me they don't made last long. Talking from personal experience
