Existing customers who pay via direct debit. Available as dual-fuel and electricity-only. This is a 12-month fixed term tariff, priced £50 below the Price Cap (at average annual use). The price changes each quarter in line with Price Cap changes. This means if the Price Cap falls in October, then Next Pledge will also fall.

Next Pledge fixed 1 year tracker tariff guarantees that your prices will always be £50 a year lower than the Ofgem price cap (for an average dual fuel customer).

We’ll automatically update your prices every three months in line with the Ofgem price cap and give you two weeks notice of any price change. Price changes will take effect on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October.

No exit fees.

It's all up in the air just now. More hassle moving from variable rate to this one to save like £3 a month(plus moving deal will restart all the meter hassle....keep trying to get me to get a smart meter although they have already been out and can't fit one without quite major joinery work so had agreed to put on system--not for smart meter) still keep bugging me with it. Not enough certainty here for it to be worthwhile. Things will keep changing is my personal thoughts. Probably better waiting a bit. Still can't believe looking at the bills I'm paying £100 a month more for electric/gas than just few years ago. Noticed car fuel prices sneaking up too. The normal for us now is £1.40 a litre+ so they will just keep it here and bump it up even higher as we're "used to it now". House insurance renewal...£50 dearer than last year. Car insurance a con too. Probably everything in fairness. Was like £15 for a fish supper recently. Used to get one for £7. I'm not sure where it all stops 😔🛑 let's revolt! Seems to work for the French. Lol.

Unfortunately a lot of big businesses are using it as an excuse to keep prices high and increase profits, juslook at all the recent company results most are making lots of profit and we are paying for it.

Ever since I moved to Octopus tracker, I have been saving a lot of money.

This tariff is expensive compared to the Octopus tracker.

Quick question, where do you get this historical tracker rates? Thanks

Just signed up, seems a win win at the moment. Lower price and no exit fee if something better comes up. Was just on the standard variable so not a huge saving but better than nothing.

Energy price cap is the most incongruous policy. All it does is give the providers licence to print money. Govt agencies does way more damage, not a single goody.
    fablanta's avatar
it's not the providers, it's the producers that are make the crazy profits.

We need to protest absolutely no need for these high inflated costs deliberate (edited)

Yes we do 100% but we don't do we....

These Gas & Electric prices are a joke. They should be LOT cheaper than they actually are.

As usual we're all getting ripped off in good ole Britain!

Energy prices will get a bit lower in october tho
    llywmog's avatar
this tariff will track and stay £50 under the price cap, and no exit fees either so if something cheaper does turn up you can jump to it (edited)

Surprised this isn't hotter. No brainer for anyone already on EON next flexible rate

I'm with E.on so cant go wrong as there's no exit fee.Problem is you have to agree to a smart meter.
    llywmog's avatar
doesn't mean they'll send one to you though

Tried to sign up & was also told smart meter had to be fitted even though previously told one could not be fitted cos I am in a flat
  11. smellyonion's avatar
I would sign up to this but then there is a time commitment to check that you're on the best deal.

So the risk is you actually pay more if the price decreases and you forget to switch.

I went with octopus. Got a referral from a friend, so we both get 50 squid. Works outs to be 4 percent below the price cap.

If I also change to their fixed contract, it further reduces my bill by another 5 percent, so 9 percent below the cap.

I am waiting till near the next price cap announcement (25 aug ) to decide to fix or not.

Just switched, was on flex tariff. Not sure what's with this fear of smart meters. Had it installed about a year ago and haven't had any issues.

Hi guys. Thinking of switching to this today - there are a few options showing but wasn't sure what will be best:

    A) Next Secure Fixed 12m V1 (elec rate 28.19/kwh & 50.31 std charge, gas rate 7.07/kwh & 29.11 std charge) showing £150.61pm direct debit

    B) Next Pledge Tracker 12m V1 (elec rate 28.62/kwh & 50.31 std charge, gas rate 7.17/kwh & 29.11 std charge) showing £152.51pm direct debit

Option B says it will be £50 a year lower than the Ofgem price cap (25 gas & 25 elec) but as it is, works out 1.90/month more than fixed tarrif atm (22.80 per year more)

Eon update prices every 3 months on option B - how likely are they to drop enough for it be better than option A with the fixed tarriff?

    Thanks

I was on their variable tariff and swapped over to this and they reduced my monthly payments by £45 a month, no idea why but works for me!
    jamstaruk1972's avatar
    were you in credit?
  16. ThermalRider's avatar
I am on this tariff, East Mids. Sept 2nd unit rate shows as:-
    E=28.62p/kwh;50.31p/day :
    G =7.17p/kwh;29.11p/day

I'm not sure if the recent Ofgem price cap starting sept 1st cap has updated yet...

I was looking at this due to it saying no exit fees. However when you click more information it says there's a £25 each exit fee if you change in the first 12 months. Has anyone else noticed this or is mine just different?
    G2DL's avatar
It might be they added the exit fees? I see the same as you. £25 per fuel exit fees.
  18. jamstaruk1972's avatar
dont get this i currently pay 175 a month with eon and im 450 in credit will be even more after next bill, but with this tarif they want me to pay £197? but it will drop to £157 because of my credit but rise to the £197 in july 24!!! that doesnt make sense when energy prices are dropping?
  19. Paid-in-full's avatar
Anyone know if this is available to Sainsbury's energy customers? Considering it runs through e.on and we have to use the e.on app as well.
