I had their social tariff version of this for £12 a month and it was fine for what I wanted. If you can let go of needing 4 rock solid bars and a bazillion gig download speed all day then it's more than good enough.

Can you get this if you already have it (running out soon) by using a different card payment?

You can ask customer service and most likely they will swap you to this deal without changing anything.

    Looks good.

Any idea on data usage in USA? Is this included as unlimited too?

There is NO inclusive data in the USA at all. You have to pay a pretty large amount by the megabyte for it. It's free EU Roaming only and this is not unlimited.

If you want to use your phone in the US, you need to look at Three PAYG with Go Roam for up to 12GB of data inclusive, O2 with Volt benefits for up to 24GB of data inclusive, or EE with the roaming pass for up to 50GB of data inclusive, all with minutes and texts back to the UK included too.

If you need unlimited data, you'll have to pick up a local SIM upon arrival instead.

Be very careful with Roaming. Once you have used more than 12gb in UK in a given month, you have nothing left to use in EU. I couldn't believe it and raised it as a question with customer services and they confirmed it. I then raised a complaint as false advertising but they seem to think it's clearly explained in the FAQs.

I've had this deal for over a year in a 4g router at home for my internet and average 200 to 500GB a month getting 80mbps. No complaints at all

My contract with Virgin ended over a month ago. I have been using it in a 5G router, in a semi rural area with external antenna I get abouts 150-250mbps. I am pretty satisfied with it, also saving £25 every month.

I'm not sure why this hasn't got hot yet, usually available for £16. 🔥

Would love this, shame no 5G for three network in my area. My 5G router kept saying 4G only.

Where does it say the price stays the same for atleast 12 months? Thanks

For those considering this for use in a 4G/5G router, I compared a Three SIM and a Smarty SIM back-to-back for a month and it became obvious there were significant differences and that for me Smarty was unusable. YMMV.

I saw that post a while ago. I have also tested three, smarty, EE, and Lyca. I have a poor signal with Lyca and EE, but EE was 20% faster when I was testing it.

For Smarty and Three, Smarty was stopping working for no reason in a Zyxel router (three unlocked form ebay one), three was working fine and to this day I have no idea why it didn't work properly on Smarty. (I have tested it in 2 the same model routers with the same results)

Anyway, I bought a proper router from Amazon, and my smarty sim was working perfectly fine for nearly a year now, with no dropouts, a stable connection with 500+ mbps download, and 50-70 mbps upload speed.

Smarty is changing ip every couple of minutes, but from what I have seen, Three is doing the same as they don't provide IPv6.

In my opinion, both networks work the same as they are both owned by the same company, unlike ID Mobile, who's owned by the carphone warehouse.
