I've had them. I thought they were good but then I bought some Bose equivalents and there was no comparison. So before Bose I thought they were great. Depends on what you are used too. Problem with jaybirds is they have lots of faults and I got through 3 pairs in 4 years as they didn't last. About a year into Bose now so I'll see how they go

chrisredmayne

Yeah my x3s were very flat but once you change the settings in the app they are a lot better. Took a lot of listening to find comfortable buds too but I think I'm good now!!!

topdealman

Had these excellent sound and value , but upgraded to AirPods which I prefer

Neil_Coombes

Just to let anyone interested know, the main difference between the special edition and the normal version is that the special editions don't include the comply earbuds, just the silicone ear tips and only in small and medium sizes so keep this in mind if you think this could be an issue for you. Heat for the price!

b1g1an

My lad's got them and they are dire out of the box but if you use some crazy looking EQ settings through the associated app they are quite acceptable.

(annoyed)

bluefish2303

I get that but it says 3 times in the blurb 4 + 4 (I've only included the first one in the description here) plus if you look very closely on the picture of the box it says it there too :p

sofia.clark

Nope

b1g1an

It does in the body but the bullets says 8 like most earphones have and you know no one reads anything properly nowadays :)

Yeah, I use them mainly for the gym and cycling. I don't use the treadmill at the gym but I skip, they're not too bad and stay in most the time. They do come with wing-tips to help stay in, haven't tried whilst using them yet. Haven't had any problems with sweat as yet, I don't tend to sweat excessively but enough. Hope this helps, great set of earphones though, 5 min charge lasts 2 hours of playback which is extremely handy.

markovanbaston

Do you use the Beats X in the gym / running? How have they fit and lasted with sweat etc?

Gilmanez

Must admit if I almost bought these and would have at £50 but I personally opted for Beats X and must say I'm extremely happy with them. The sound is great and I'd recommend hands down.

tropicocitwo

I love the sound quality, and customisation in terms of both sound profile and how you can wear them...but they're flawed. I'm on my 3rd pair at the moment, and they have a fatal flaw where the battery randomly holds a charge around 50% less than it should. I used to get a good 4 or so hours on one charge when listening at a high volume, every set I've owned would eventually start lasting only 2 :(

Husamx

Not a big fan. After spending weeks on YouTube reviews i bought a pair for £109, when they first came out. Tbh there's nothing special about them other than giving me headaches

People who want more battery life I imagine. Just a punt though

red16

Also who is voting this cold?

Ok, as shockclown says they are brilliant in everyway except for the battery life

How are these compared to the X2 or X3? Does anyone know?

Anyone know where I can pick these up for a cheap price? Cheapest I can find at the moment is £95 at Curry’s.

I have Jaybird Freedoms and the lack of AptX isn't an issue, they are still a stunning set of earphones.

Argos is doing jaybird freedoms for £59.99 if anybody wants a slightly cheaper set.

Xemorph

I got these on black Friday, great sound once you adjust the equaliser on the phone app. If you use it on a pc don't put the Bluetooth adaptor anywhere near a WiFi adaptor because the signal will keep going. Sometimes it will go into hands free for no reason for a couple of seconds, turn off hands free if you're using it on a pc and it won't do this. Great pair of earphones though.

fuz

Yeah I just noticed that, but I'd still prefer to pay the extra £4.96 for the extra year's warranty tbh.

They've been fine for me, I said above I think they are light as they come with less foam tips. But you can get them for like £2 on Amazon :)

SportsTechLover100

They have slighly less tips, the only difference I can see, think this is the 'light'.

artax

Anyone know if these are worse than the x3 cant find many reviews of the light version anywhere?

tom_g

Are these the normal Freedoms or not? The box seems to say 'special edition', does that mean 'crappy edition'?

Fraser_Poole

Just tried mine. They sound great and fit well. Really pleased with them. There's no foam tips in the box

That's because you can swap left and right using the MySound app. Not sure why anyone would want to do that but you can. Maybe it's something to do with wearing them over or under ear?

efem

Using Jaybird bluebuds X for 2.5+ years, and had Jaybird freedom ( 1st gen ) for another 2 years before. Worth every penny! If you need a decent sound and build quality headphones for gym, or any sport activity ( except swimming ) I can only recommend these. Pairing with Comply tips, easily can be made "noise isolating" to ignore others groaning and giving birth noises plus Katy Perry music in the gym.

smiler594

43 out of 147 reviews on Amazin describe these headphones as "poor" eg less than 3/5 stars. Sound guys and other websites be damned, the people have spoken! Caveat Emptor ! Bad deal.

I've been looking to find Jaybird earphones at a descent price for ages and finally found them on Amazon.
Dusty

Bluedio CI3's are worth a look if you enjoy music on the go. The only problem is getting a good earbud seal.

Vanderlust

Sold mine because the bluetooth connection was so weak that it would constantly drop out if I had the phone in the rear pocket of my shorts. I mean seriously, that's the most common place to keep a phone these days. Nearly all running shorts have a large phone sized pocket there, so when designing sports bluetooth earphones you'd expect a stable connection in that location. Just utter pants. Sound quality is woeful too for the price. Honestly, just woeful. For 2016 you want a lot more for your money. Also got sick charging them all the time. I'll go BT headphones again when they last a couple of weeks solid and have a strong connection and decent sound quality and don't cost a small fortune. £50 should be enough these days with the price of components being what they are.

efem

I had these, however left ear died after 1.5 year. Bluebuds or x2 is better for value/money - if music quality, durability and battery life is important for you. I have 2 different £20ish clones similar to these but overall quality is nowhere near. I have been using Bluebuds just over 2 years now - no issues, apart from a small piece of plastic has came off from the charger port's door ( has no effect on the functionality )

DevilzGtr

They might be facing competition from similarly designed bluetooth headphones from Anker and MPow that costs between £25 and £16
