Caution with Uber Eats.

If you load up a gift card and expect to pay for say shopping, since that's on there... think again.

What's worse, It just ignored my attempts to pay via Card aswell so I was stuck until I used up the credit.

I dont think so. I remember I had GBP balance that I couldnt use in Poland though that was about 2 years ago.

I think its country (or atleast currency) specific.

One golden rule to follow - the bigger the discount they have to offer, the greater the need for cash, the greater the risk of insolvency and the greater the risk of a worthless gift card.

Are you suggesting uber is about to go insolvent? Don't think I've heard anyone suggesting so anywhere else. And I don't think any large company will be looking at amazon to raise millions to stop them going under either.

It could be just that amazon had negotiated a good deal with them.

Made an order with Uber Eats recently, paid with a gift card and they were missing part of the order, went to support multiple times and they wouldn't refund me! If you buy with debit/credit card at least you can chargeback, if you pay with gift cards you have no recourse.

yes you can - I tend to buy discounted gift cards or via cashback and I use the balance with the 40% or whatever offers.

They have removed the Nandos card, which is a shame. I had one of those great British pub vouchers before, but no bars knew how to honour the credit! So I ended up spending twice as much as intended. Clever marketing.

"Only one promo code can be applied to an order. You can either use a discount code or an Uber gift card, but not both.

You can use an Uber gift card to pay for your Uber Eats order, but you will not be able to apply a discount code to the same order.

If you have a discount code for Uber Eats, you can use it to pay for your order, but you will not be able to use an Uber gift card to pay for the same order.

No I’m sure it’s wrong. I used both in the same order last week. The Uber gift card applies to your account as ”Uber cash” and shows up as the payment method, whereas a discount is applied on the promo section. Maybe someone else can corroborate but I’m pretty sure that’s how it works

Works for me and I no longer have prime. However, it's capped at £150. Going to give it a miss though as its not enough of a saving IMO, rather have flexibility between my multiple Ubereats accounts based on promo codes.

So the suggestion above is you can buy a maximum of £200 vouchers in one transaction, and the terms of promotion suggest you can only use it once. So I'm assuming that means you can only buy 1 x £200 voucher throughout the promotion? Anyone tried buying more than £200, or done multiple transactions and still received the discount?
