7000 is too small to be effective. We run 15000, they are noisy, need tray emptying regularly but cool 5m X 5m high ceiling iffices. Bought years ago from Makeo, no problems.

But maybe other newer brands and models work better? I've little experience of portable air conditioners and you perhaps of just 1? You have a old air conditioner, likely more inefficient, older tech etc. It's also a different brand. Read a few reviews of various 7000 BTU and even 5000 BTU with folks reporting back good things. Have you considered that the technology may have gotten better over the years? Plus high ceilings really make a big difference to the volume a room, especially as hot air rises. (edited)

Air cooler not conditioner. No wonder it’s so cheap

Thanks so much for posting this, my daughter is severely autistic and sleeps in a special bed, basically a massive padded frame with bouncy castle material and clear plastic windows and a bed in the middle, she absolutely loves it in there and it keeps her safe at night, it’s called a, sleep safe. It goes up to 12 inches from the ceiling and has a mesh roof, in the summer it gets quite warm, we usually aim a fan at the ceiling, so it bounces colder air into the bed. Summers seem to be getting warmer so we were thinking of getting some air conditioning, we just bought one of these so her room will be much cooler next summer. Thanks again gen.

Could be but genuinely isn't, just offering up alternative as can't get student discount at House Of Fraser but can here at SD with Student Beans or Uni Days @ 10%. The other post gets all the glory, excellent find, lets hope it proves to be good after reviews come in from buyers. Plus this deal has some information, so helps the other listing. What you said, I've said to a few others before lol. (edited)

Ordered, thanks OP! Just in the process of buying our first home, a 10ish year old flat. Has an energy rating of B which is great in the winter to keep the gas bill low. But that’s gonna be scorching in summer!

I was using a 5000btu for years in a reasonable size bedroom. The trick is to to use a window kit and close the curtains. It will take 30 minutes to work. Keep doors shut. It works good enough. (edited)

God what a nightmare. Logged into sports direct, removed my old address, added my new one. Placed my order and they are still sending to my old address.

Have no idea who to contact or anything. Can't amend details, can't cancel order.

I've been toying with the idea of a split unit ac. Looking at £850 + installation for that. I have now impulsively purchased two of these.
I've either saved some money or chucked some away!
