Air India is actually a very good airline with great service. I've spent a lot of time on business to India's "Big 4" and loved it. A beautiful country with great people. Take the rough with the smooth and you'll have the trip of a lifetime.

372 miles North of Goa, so not sure about travel to Goa how long that would take on their infrastructure.

    The heat in June. 🥵

Beats the cold, rain and wind in the UK. However, May is normally hotter in India and June is the start of the VERY wet season. Personally, I'd go in April.

June will be way too hot (35C) and then monsoon season starting too, with 16 days average rain! And we're not talking rain like we have in the UK. Best time to go? December.

Air India used to be --> Wet toilets, rude staff. Anything changed?

My 09:30 flight BKK to BOM was recently delayed and left at 02:30 the next day, not impressed with them, but its great deal if Heathrow is convenient which for most it is not

I drink filtered water (most homes have water filter installed) when I'm back in India and I have had no issues.
Same with my kid who is born and has grown up in UK.
