Only the first. Purchase elsewhere when needed, i normally see whats cheaper.
you can use the card by showing on the phone when asked at the station. It will show under the train section on the trip app.

Nice one, been waiting for a deal on these 🙌🏻.

Just a pity you have to use their app to access the railcard

    Thanks, ordered.

Don't think you need to book through trip.com.

You can view the railcard through the app. So, make your booking where ever is cheapest then have your ID card ready on the app when you travel.

but it says your card won't be activated, so even though you see the card, it won't be recognised by a ticket inspector if he scans it?

Bought a railcard for £12. Do I definitely need to buy a ticket though as I can see the railcard in the app and it says issued.

if it is already on your app then you don't need to buy a ticket. most people have been able to get the card without having to buy a ticket but for some unlucky people, they don't see the card until they have bought a ticket i am not complaining as i got the card like you without having to buy a ticket

I was, switched off my Surfshark vpn and tried again. Make sure photos are in acceptable format jpeg, etc. My wife sent me her photo she took on iPhone and it was in “.heic” format, had to change this using windows heic to jpeg converter(free on windows store). Worked after that. Hope this helps.

I'm sure this has worked for some, but it changes price for me at checkout. Whole process feels quite scam like even though they're legit.

Thank you! £12.70 after buying a ticket but still a cracking deal. Cheers.

@Trip.comOfficial Please could you make it so that you don’t need an active internet connection to view your railcard in the app? Not helpful that an internet connection is required to view it, if you get asked to present and don’t have a signal or data. (edited)

Too large I imagine, that usually being the main reason it fails. . Make sure they are below 1MB in size.

Could also be the file type. (edited)

I just entered a return from Nottingham to London, and for the money it wants to travel by train, I can get a months fully inclusive in Spain! (well, not quite!) Who pays these sorts of prices? I thought the £2 for a single bus journey expensive, never mind what they want for the train!

Why do I need to buy a rail ticket on Trip.com? Opened their app and clicked on my railcard and card appears on screen, isn’t that all I need to show guard and a valid ticket + my second person?
    mutley1's avatar
    mutley1
yeah, doesn't really make a lot of sense. i worry if the card is actually legit as this outfit is based in singapore!! if the ticket inspector saw the railcard and it is a fake, you would have to pay a penalty fair!
