Train ticket deals

Posted 21st May 2023
Hello,

I never travel by train so am unsure on deals etc...

On 29th May (bank holiday Monday) we will need to travel from Norwich to Stratford international.
Times are not an issue, but we need to be there before 11am.

1 adult and 1 child.

I have a disabled child so can get a disabled child's rail card for £20 1 year if this makes a difference to price for them and me as their carer.

I drive so can go from somewhere else but trying to avoid charges for car parking on top of train fare.
Is there a better website to use?
Better to travel to another train station?
Worth paying for the DCR for one time use?
This is likely the only train journey we will make anytime soon!

Any help much appreciated
Thanks very much!

Try thetrainline dot com to get the ideal train and times as it is easier, but book it on your local network site to avoid admin fees

Also, when is your expected return?

You can calculate the price without the DCR.

And then do a calculation by adding the DCR. And you'll have your answer

TrainPal will get you £3 off if a new user of the app as well as a couple more quid for over £30 spend. Cheapest is the 08:00 for £31.50 before voucher use.

In future, try and book 4-6 weeks before as advance fares are far cheaper (about 65% off)
