NO it is not

I see the 'w' in the title now - I assume that means womens. Could be clearer and /or in description. Have given heat to both now!

....the black are women's....so slightly narrower....and a different design.....

Except for the look, the price is fair with this boots

Are these the same a the black ones your had already posted, just a different colourway? Could you not just post once with "also available in..."?

Dr Martens vegan 1460 Cambridge Brush (Red) - £99.95 (£89.95 with code sent with email sign up) and free postage @ Surfdome
Posted 14th MayPosted 14th May
Cheapest I've seen in ages, rarely offers for the vegan ones.

Wife has a pair of these and they do look good (got them in a sale) however they definitely do NOT last as long as a leather pair, the 'pleather' peeled off along the normal crease line of the boot after about a year then that line split. Guess what, i stitched a piece of real leather onto the boot and she still wears them! In my opinion nowhere near as long lasting as leather.

So they are plastic?

Looks like it PU style leather - so yes, sythetic but not a simple as "placsic".

Not plastic? Could you tell me what they're made of because I'm genuinely interested. And you're right, DMs are overpriced in general.

This guys does a comparison between Solovair and Dr Martens that you might want to watch first before buying. He also does a teardown of the Thai-made Dr. Martins boots and the Made in England boots

Thanks for this. Ordered some for my daughter's birthday. She's mad on DM.

Scratch that. Tried a few times and then refreshed. Cheers for the heads up!

I think doc Martin are overpriced, and take ages to put on when your in a rush. Would prefer a slip on version

How I'm kind of having a choice....blacks 59£ as above in black are 79£... (shock) (party) Thanks for sharing (y) (cheeky)

In Black are 30£ more expensive... Hmmm... maybe to get brown and spray them with black paint...ha ha... (unicorn) (unicorn) (unicorn)

I’m a 7 to 7.5 usually I got the 7 put an insole in and there perfect for me

Did you go for your size or a size down? I couldn't find any "%fits as expected" on teir site. I'm size 8 to 9 and they only had 8 in stock. Shielding so any return would be an unwelcome addition.

I’ve just got mine today and there nice a little tight but will wear in nice

Got some boots from the DM store recently, when they got delivered had made in Taiwan stamped on them and they were pants, sent them straight back very disappointing.

Yeah, I know! It was about 35+ years ago since that video clip though (Alexi & Dr Marten have been around a while). Some styles also used to come with a life time guarantee as standard. Not so common now and you pay a big premium for it. Still......great boots! (y)

It was £126.00 But now £39.00

Yeah we get those for free if you do the course. If not and you are a first responder you buy your own. I tried the steal toe ones from mate and they are horrible to run with . :) U will be surprise how many things we pay for lol

That is pathetic you should be supplied with decent boots if you are in that occupation. Fair play to you if you don't want the extra weight if you have to pay for them.

Ha! We get £50 towards boots a year. They haven't provided them for years.

Voted hot

No funny enough we don't. Unless you do level 2 training for public order and stuff we buy our own . I don't mind if they aren't still toe etc, heavy to run with those ones (annoyed) already carry enough lol

Lovely kids boots. Thanks for sharing heat added

Mine delivered today. Size 12, they fit quite a bit bigger than any other size 12 boot or shoe I've got but an insole or thick sock should take care of that. Very happy with the quality on first appearances.

I don't think DM's are worth much these days. My latest pair cracked after 6 months. Now if I could get a pair the same quality as my first ones, thirty years ago, I'd gladly pay twice the price of these.

It’s a goodyear welted boot, you won’t find many other welted boots around the £100 mark. These are still bottom-tier “working class” boots in both quality and price. People expect things to still cost the same as what they costed in the 80s/90s. If houses and cars etc. costed 50% (or less) of what they cost now, why shouldn’t everything else? That aside, Doc Martens are awful nowadays. Buy Solovair.

I’ve had a few pair, horrible to wear in, ankles cut to bits with the shoes. New boots not too bad. Mine don’t last that long as the soles can’t be replaced, I assume. Amazing product mind, been popular for years now and never seem to be out of fashion. Had a pair in the 1970s still buying them in 2020

I don't know if it is necessarily ridiculously priced, sure it's not cheap but these will last for a very long time. My wife has a pair of DM boots that she bought 25 years ago and they are still in good condition.

Seriously ?..working classes...think you've been walking round with your eyes shut mate £19.99p last time I bought a pair.......on the way to pick my whippet and flat cap up

werent these for the working classes? same as levis jeans becoming ridiculously priced

You can get made in the UK versions but they start at £180!!!

Stick to the made in England docs. They cost more but the quality is better than the Thai and Chinese versions. I’m just glad a mate works in the cobbs lane factory and gets a 65% discount for me.

Just because these are cheaper here than elsewhere doesn't make this a deal, hence the coldness. They simply are not worth this kind of money just for carrying the DM branding.

Was having a bit of a clear out last Sunday and ‘found’ a pair of DM’s that i bought about 18 years ago and only wore a couple of times before putting them away and forgetting about them. Compared them to a pair my nephew bought last week and the difference in quality is really sad to see.

I've gone from buying these to buying £35 army surplus boots, really good quality and a steal for the price. Maybe not as "cool" as a pair of Docs but I've grew to prefer the style. https://forcesuniformandkit.co.uk/collections/combat-boots-army-boots/products/austrian-lightweight-combat-boots?variant=6059052531744
