England Its American Gangster trend apparently

...yes, I have to say, I was shocked. I just couldn't lift my feet without them falling off. Never experienced it before......not sure it's my feet......but one to keep in mind when buying ;-)

That's a pity! Reading the customer reviews there are so many people saying how comfy they are

...good luck if you can keep these on your feet.....because I couldn't......too heavy and fall off....most frustrating sandal I've every tried...

A lot cheaper than Churchs

I heard the quality of a once great company is no pants ...

Cheaney, church's and all the high end English bookmakers are generally great but no way I'm dropping £500 on them. Construction is top notch, they can be resoled, and above all else they are comfortable and fit perfectly and look great. The ones I attached were the first thing I could find in the outlet. Definitely worth a shop about. I have multiple pairs for under £100. I like danner and stuff for more combat/urban styles. Chippewa are pretty great and align with the altberg style. They do tons of styles and motorcycle is one of their specialities I believe. Have seen them in tk maxx and then remembered I don't have a motorbike :)

Those Cheaney's are nice looking boots, but am I missing somethng? Solovair are mental at £180 but these are good value at £210? Is it just that you think the Cheaney's are much better quality? I'm 55 so I am a bit of an old man, but I also appreciate good boots. (As a biker, my favourite boots are Alt Berg, made in a great factory in Yorkshire),

Not worn a pair of Dr Martens in years ,I always found them uncomfortable and a heavy shoe to wear for too long. Sad to hear that the quality has declined as it has with almost everything.

I'm not sure the poor folk in sweatshops abroad are paid the UK living wage, therefore there would generally be savings made in the production process. Those savings aren't generally passed on to the customer when a UK brand moves abroad. The quality may not necessarily drop, but anecdotally that doesn't appear to be the case, see Hunter's wellies as an example.

Why would I buy something made here over something made in another country? Do people in other countries not deserve my money?

That's what compeed blister plasters are for Neo

Thanks! Will take a punt.
