I was offered my deal through 3 . Not a 3rd party. Got the x for £36 with 100 gb data

I hope you won't mind sharing the details. Cheers

I am on sim only rolling contract £13 a month for 12gb data.. Just finished chatting with them.. the best they can offer me is £40 a month with no upfront cost.. 30gb data.. I refused though told them getting a cheaper deal on O2 with mobiles.co.uk

mightychojin

I'm assuming you're all out of contract when approaching Three for these deals? I've got until May before I can upgrade my contract.

Tried for the last 90 minutes to get the £31 deal. Three will not offer me the deal. A manager has advised me the deal does not exist 19:14 Sushil It's a lie as we don't have and neither we don't do a deal for £31 a month at all.

Is there any need to lecture somebody about posting a deal that turned out to be not quite as good as they thought? Just highlight it, vote cold and move on. They are posting on hotUkDeals not providing financial advice for goodness sake!

terencetcf

That maybe true before The X. The smartphone market has saturated too much hence even value for iPhone has dropped quite significantly than before > 50% after a year. Of coz Android phones are even worse.

misa426

Apple phones tend to hold their value very well. Part of the reason they're a much better investment than any Android phone.

MrSprkle

Maybe, there are reports its not doing as well as Apple hoped, as such it could either just disappear like the iPhone 5C or Apple coudl choose to market it as the new SE budget and reduce the price?

Great price for a great phone. JL price matched it for us today (we had previously paid £749 with them a few days ago). Only available in black at this price.
Get dealGet deal
FactProvider

Thanks, I've put in a request.

hot0

L I haven’t tried buying before. I requested the price match which was confirmed the next day by email. I then had 28 days to buy the iPhone and when I got it, I had to get back in touch to say I’m keeping it and gave them the price match reference number. After a few days got my difference refunded. All online :)

FactProvider

Do you think it's more likely to be accepted if I buy it from JL first, or should I request it before I buy? Also do you need to go to a physical JL store at any point, or can everything be refunded online?

hot0

Yes you can. I did it online too

FactProvider

Can you do a JL pricematch online?

May be worth checking what’s using the storage? If you switch to cloud storage then 64gb should be fine. I keep a months photos on phone. Rest in cloud (free with google photos, “free” with prime) Delete images / videos once uploaded. Stream Spotify and Netflix. Increased my data allowance rather than increased phone storage. Much cheaper.

19DembaBa19

Do a factory reset and your 64gb will be enough to move to android you can save more money. IPhone is a rich mans phone and it's only for few of us. It's not for everyone

little_deal_minx

:( Does anyone have a screenshot of the item at £769? I called Amazon but they are denying that the phone was ever on sale for £769 (mad) So upset, I had decided on the phone after the really helpful responses to my first comment but I had to get money transferred into my bank account as I didn't have enough to cover the price but I was too late ;( I know it's just £29.99 extra now but in total it all adds up and is a lot of money and I don't think the 64gb version has enough memory as my 6S has 64gb and it's barely functioning and say's its at full memory and that's after deleting all my apps and the majority of my photos :(

In an ideal World yes but sadly on this site there is too much of the android vs apple debate and way too many apple haters who openly vote cold just for their dislike of apple products. Likewise the car leasing haters do the same. I agree it's not 100% on price as for me the value also comes from the retailer who is selling, so if an item is from a Chinese seller for example at the lowest price but for not much more you can get it from a UK retailer with UK warranty then the slightly higher price offers greater value due to the warranty.

Chrrye

Thank you for your clear and intelligent response. I agree users should abstain from voting on deals they have low interest in or knowledge of. However 'interest in' (from your reply) is quite flexible and undoubtedly related to price. Were the phone or car lease to go to a very low price this would undoubtably start to be of interest to everyone even those that hate Apple or see zero value in car leasing. Likewise I agree with you the bias is not a good thing to allow to colour voting. But also I do not think (and don't think I said) vote on 'value to you' but rather 'value' (which I know is obviously subjective but I guess I hope others can generally perceive value in things even if they are not directly or immediately on their wish lists or things they would ever purchase). The collective group nature of the site then hopefully irons out the subjectivity and bias among individuals leaving high heat items as those collectively perceived to be good value (not just big discount) (although those will no doubt overlap (regularly) also! :D ).

darlan.batalha

Expired!

Sp0oner

I have to disagree with you on that and I will explain why. If I was to vote on the basis of value to me I would go around this site voting 95% of deals cold as they have no value to me. That would be wrong to do. Deals being voted hot or cold should be done by those who have an interest in that item and whether they can get it cheaper anywhere else. In this deal it's the cheapest you can get an XR for and it is why it has rightly gone over 1000 degrees. Car leasing is a good example. To many on this site they have no interest in such deals and don't see the value in leasing so go in the leasing deals and vote them cold saying you can buy a 10 year old banger cheaper. Clearly the deal is not for them and because it has no value to them they should not be voting, not voting cold. Their personal opinion of leasing and being zero value to them should not mean they vote cold. The leasing deal should be voted on by those interested in leasing as to whether it is a good deal or not and not be voted cold by people who have no clue about leasing and think owning an old banger is better value. This is the same for apple vs android users where as per the comment I replied to in this deal, their view on Apple has no relevance to the heat of this deal. If they are not interested in iphones then they should pass this deal by and not make stupid comments as to android being better. The deal here is can you get this iphone cheaper elsewhere and if so is it from a reputable retailer and on that basis you vote hot or cold.
