Sportsdirect's business model seems to hinge on buying hard-up brands and then running their reputations into the dirt.

I bought 2 pairs recently and the soles are made of very hard material, they slip very easily on wet surfaces, manhole covers and smooth stone etc. cheaper but not as good as they used to be. I use them mainly on dry days now. The worst of the 2 has bright red tread down the centre of the sole. Will be looking for something else next time though I think the soles will outlast the rest of the shoe.

Yes, terrible quality now which is unfortunate as I bought 2 pairs of replacement karrimor hiking shoes which have lasted less than half the time of my original pair.

Karrimor are owned by sportsdirect I thought and the quality isn't great or have things changed now?

Not bad but RRP is joke. Voted hot.

Yeah, I was posting from my tablet and falling asleep around the time of posting - dum-dum didn't realise it was a repost! (As I said above) :p

Showing as 'expired' but size 10 at least is still available at that price.

Oh darn, just realised this is a repost...this came up on my amazon recommendations :( https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/karrimor-snow-casual-3-weathertite-mens-high-rise-hiking-boots-1799-prime-2274-non-prime-2812237

I'd have bought 2 pairs had these been a lower cut boot or shoe. Bit too high-top for me. Great find. I usually associate Karrimor with Sports Direct but if it's from Amazon, I feel some assurances that I won't have to go anywhere a Mike Ashley establishment if these get damaged or need to be returned!

Look good value Thanks OP

Various sizes available at this price, free delivery over £20. Not the best long term quality but good enough for my toes!

If you want a good cheap pair of boots look for some ex army alt berg defenders, best boots I have ever had.

Cheers c9off Received mine today very comfortable and sturdy, only problem was box had big hole in the lid! I questioned this Via Amazon live chat, they gave me £5 off as good will gesture (y)

Well you try your method and I will try mine and see who's the more successful ;)

absolute crap, bought a pair of karrimoor boots a couple of months ago, lasted me 6 weeks, only used for work, split at the edges of the toes on both sides resulting in wet feet. wasted £35, expected at least 12 months out of them. will never buy karrimor again no matter the price

What do people recommend instead?

Surprised they have Vibram soles, would assume at least the soles are good. Wouldn't have any faith in the rest of the boots though. Bought makes owned by Sports Direct before and it hasn't been up to much.

I owned pair of Karrimor shoes years ago and those were really good quality. Trusting the brand I bought another pair two or three years ago and those lasted only 6 months before starting to fall apart. Only then I found out that Sports Direct acquired the brand and outsourced all the production to China and other countries. I got them back to shop and as they couldn't repair them and exchange to new pair, I requested a refund but all I got was a voucher to the same value. AVOID Karrimor and other Sports Direct brands like Dunlop, Slazenger, Kangol, Donnay and Lonsdale , really bad quality.

I've got these paid about £30 a year ago, they are lightweight, warm, not walked through a lake to test if waterproof but I've been in rain and mud and my feet were kept dry. Threw em in washing machine to clean and came out fine. Ignore people who haven't worn them

I'd personally avoid this brand.

Arrived this evening, got to love Amazon same day delivery! They look and feel good, very happy with them for the price as they'll be used for some occasional hillwalking. I'll make sure to spend £100+ on 'decent' boots for my next Everest climb :D

Showing as £56.33 now unless I am missing something

Agree. These will be a pale shadow of what the brand was a few years ago. Now cheap tat along with once quality names like Slazenger, Dunlop, Kangol, Karrimor and Lonsdale :(

When you bought your karrimor boots years ago they probably were good quality. Now it is just a name stitched on to low quality merchandise.

Good boots for the money, had a pair for years. (y)

These are certain to be s**t as the brand is now owned by Sports Direct. Avoid like the plague.

Stumbled across this site by mistake and noticed they have a sale on just now. Some of their stock is massively reduced.

Ahh Karrimor, the brand that says SWEATSHOPS!

Just bought a pair of karrinor running shoes 2 weeks ago and a week later its sole broke into 2. so never ever again

Only small sizes are reduced.

But staff there is very polite and helpful in Sportsdirect I have had the worst customer service from now closed BHS & Mark and Spencer . Some of the old staff are only interested in helping their own friends and relatives get bargains but not for everyone.

the rrp on those trainers is a joke. £13.00 should be the rrp.

Another brand spoiled by the ugly fat one. Bought a pair to replace ones I had had for years, held up for about 6 months but let in water before that. The sole comes though the inside so in a moment you could be walking on pebbles.

This brand drops to bits after 12 months. Very poor quality.

I think only size 12 & 14 available.

cheers for that, wasn't aware.Hopefully they will do all right. ..

Karrimor has a complicated history but in a nutshell it was bought by Lonsdale Sports in 2004 which is part of the Sports Direct group of companies, retaining simply the rights to the brand name (not the original UK manufacturing base) Sports Direct make Karrimor branded items in China.

It has a headphone socket too :)

reviews on this are terrible, plus mp3 input and speakers is pointless due to the noise this treadmill makes, really need to wear headphones

Not only is it cheaper in price but it has a more powerful motor and it also has a wider runway. Also has USB input for MP3 players/Phone etc and a Maximum User Weight: 140kg

I don't know anything about treadmills but am looking to buy one, why is the one you linked to better?

use to be good shoes before sports direct takeover

Not sure if that's some sort of sophisticated sarcasm I'm not getting, but it's women's sizes. I still see Karrimor stocked in outdoors stores (usually the better-specced varieties such as the KSB models), they can't ALL be Sports Direct made?

Yeh i would not bother with these, my first pair lasted less than 6months with casual city walking (town and back) 3months in they got an irritating and embarrasing squeek with every step, a month or so later when it rained a little my feet were soaked though, the rubber soles had torn in the dip of the grip letting air and water though, it had happened on both shoes and in the same place so i feel its a design flaw. The second pair has already started the squeeking, so im guessing in a month or two i shall have wet feet when water seeps up though the soles.

shame only child sizes ! Mark

karrimor use to be my favorite but not anymore, they lost the touch

No, no, fair do's, pretty much fact. Staff so pushy when I went in for some running shoes, practically told me I could fly in these cardboard soled rubbish. Had to Google, found out Sports Direct now own Karrimor -shame, used to love their waterproof jackets.

Unfortunately since Karrimor was swallowed by "the dark force" much of the previously respected brand/gear is now cheap tat. This is of course in my opinion (your honour). (_;)

I've just bought a pair of "new balance" for £34...amazing fit and so light. For me the extra few pounds was definitely worth it
