Didn't know that, thanks for the info. Sorry you have been unlucky with your karrimor kit. You're right a lot of it is poor quality and pretty much useless. But not all of it, some of it just works
Your sabre rucksack is made by Karrimor SF, a diiferent company to Karrimor. Karrimor stuff is generally tat - I have bought a few things in the past, such as shoes and backpack, but have had poor experiences and would not buy again.
I can only go off what I have used myself. I have a couple of bomb proof karrimor tents, sleeping bags I'm more than happy with, cracking trekking poles and a rucksack ( the sabre) that is as good as any out there. They do £5 head torches and compasses that are just useless, but if you pay £5 for safety kit then you're doomed anyway.
Fair enough. I just wonder how much of that faith is down to your association with the brand (ie. a previously high quality UK manufacturer).
I know what you mean but I do think they have a bit of a higher spec range in the hiking kit that is as good as you need it in the UK. I wouldn't worry about their sleeping bags or rucksacks letting me down.
