Thanks. Oh well - good while it lasted, I guess. If that's what people do (Swoop on the lot & flog them on ebay) then I think I'll stop posting them sort of deals. Not fair on people what might be struggling and could do with a deal like that. (annoyed) EDIT: Seems like the price went up with just one more pair bought. Dunno why they say '4 left' at the lower price. Weird. :/

These boots were made for walking.... down to the off-license for a few cans, nothing more

Psychobunni

Great price! I needed some new walking shoes urgently last month and bought some karrimor ones as they were all that was available where I was. I was sceptical about the quality before buying as knew they were an SD brand but they were comfy from the first wear, waterproof, stable and served me well in the 50 miles of walking over a few days. No idea how long they will last but for the price they were much better than expected!

leeroy999

As I have said these are a budget boot and understand they wont be the highest of quality. I found them and felt it would be great to share the deal on the understanding some people may not have the funds to buy the best quality boots. If someone wears these over a pair of crappy trainers and reduces the risk of injury because they are wearing more appropriate footwear for walking, then I am happy I have passed the deal on to others - there are people that miss the point of HotUKdeals sometimes seem to post negativity for the sake of it.....not sure this is the case here? but I would rather take the opinions of the people who have actually purchased the said item, like those who have reviewed the actual product and given 4/5 stars on the amazon reviews. Yes some have had a bad time with these boots but generally people seem happy. I know which review I'd rather take on board.

I had a pair of Karrimor Bodmin walking shoes that I bought in 2010, wore them every winter and only got rid a few weeks ago. If these are anywhere's near as comfortable or durable I won't complain. Far better than the regatta ones I paid more than double for; which developed a hole in the sole after only a fortnight.

shakeyjake66

Karrimor boots now made/owned by Sports Direct. You'll be lucky if they last a few months. Really poor quality compared to how Karrimor used to be. https://www.ukhillwalking.com/forums/gear/karrimor_walking_shoes-657457

But aren’t Amazon just as bad to there staff and avoiding paying tax. But people don’t seem to hate and vote Amazon deal cold https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/timed-toilet-breaks-impossible-targets-11587888.amp https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/technology/2017/oct/04/amazon-eu-tax-irish-government-apple

666FU

This being cold is not because its from sports direct its because "decent" and Karrimor are not words that should be used together. Seriosly you can get a pair of proper running shoes for around £30 or even Lidl/ Aldi ones at half the pricve would be just as good as the Karrimor.

Gollywood

I know why (for me) https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/jmkemy/mike-ashley-sports-direct-select-committee

myusernamehasgone234

Yeah I was surprised. I don’t understand all the hate for sports direct myself.

M-M

I'm surprise with that deal and going by your comments on it, you were too, I'm also going to give their posts a wide berth, even though some of the deals are good for me, I'll keep them to myself as it seems like some people are offended by them.

Well, despite them being a bunch of cowboys, and their products poorly made, I’ve been out in this with the wind and snow howling, it kept me toasty and that’s exactly what I wanted. Thanks indianajon for your kind words and fijwood for your helpful comment, I was not aware of that and wish I never bothered to post now! The post may be getting cold, but I sure as hell won’t be (lol)

termite

You could drape yourself in a copy of the Metro and it would look better and keep you drier. Sports Direct try to trick people by using bankrupt brand names as a cover for shoddy goods

indianajon

Don’t worry about the Sports Direct knockers Lottie, just ask them where they can get one for the same price that would be any better

Sportsdirect's business model seems to hinge on buying hard-up brands and then running their reputations into the dirt.

whathesmeg

I bought 2 pairs recently and the soles are made of very hard material, they slip very easily on wet surfaces, manhole covers and smooth stone etc. cheaper but not as good as they used to be. I use them mainly on dry days now. The worst of the 2 has bright red tread down the centre of the sole. Will be looking for something else next time though I think the soles will outlast the rest of the shoe.

deleted800342

Yes, terrible quality now which is unfortunate as I bought 2 pairs of replacement karrimor hiking shoes which have lasted less than half the time of my original pair.

pjazzy

Karrimor are owned by sportsdirect I thought and the quality isn't great or have things changed now?

I'd have bought 2 pairs had these been a lower cut boot or shoe. Bit too high-top for me. Great find. I usually associate Karrimor with Sports Direct but if it's from Amazon, I feel some assurances that I won't have to go anywhere a Mike Ashley establishment if these get damaged or need to be returned!

absolute crap, bought a pair of karrimoor boots a couple of months ago, lasted me 6 weeks, only used for work, split at the edges of the toes on both sides resulting in wet feet. wasted £35, expected at least 12 months out of them. will never buy karrimor again no matter the price

Surprised they have Vibram soles, would assume at least the soles are good. Wouldn't have any faith in the rest of the boots though. Bought makes owned by Sports Direct before and it hasn't been up to much.

jarekjj

I owned pair of Karrimor shoes years ago and those were really good quality. Trusting the brand I bought another pair two or three years ago and those lasted only 6 months before starting to fall apart. Only then I found out that Sports Direct acquired the brand and outsourced all the production to China and other countries. I got them back to shop and as they couldn't repair them and exchange to new pair, I requested a refund but all I got was a voucher to the same value. AVOID Karrimor and other Sports Direct brands like Dunlop, Slazenger, Kangol, Donnay and Lonsdale , really bad quality.

woody9

I've got these paid about £30 a year ago, they are lightweight, warm, not walked through a lake to test if waterproof but I've been in rain and mud and my feet were kept dry. Threw em in washing machine to clean and came out fine. Ignore people who haven't worn them

mustangt

I'd personally avoid this brand.

andyp2016

Arrived this evening, got to love Amazon same day delivery! They look and feel good, very happy with them for the price as they'll be used for some occasional hillwalking. I'll make sure to spend £100+ on 'decent' boots for my next Everest climb :D

Agree. These will be a pale shadow of what the brand was a few years ago. Now cheap tat along with once quality names like Slazenger, Dunlop, Kangol, Karrimor and Lonsdale :(

acj7744

When you bought your karrimor boots years ago they probably were good quality. Now it is just a name stitched on to low quality merchandise.

Lego321

Good boots for the money, had a pair for years. (y)
