Bought 2 sims with lifetime recurring plan, non of them’s data actually work, tried many different solutions and contacted support but no helpful suggestions for now, it just says data service not subscribed. So can only make calls/text forever, not ideal!

I can use data on the free plans they done. Did you get the APN settings set up correctly? If everything is good on your end, fire them an email across, they get back super quick.

It runs on EE, but no access to eSIMs, VoLTE, WiFi calling, 5G or 800MHz 4G

Wait, so this SIM / network only runs on EE's 3G network?

Isn't 3G networks due to be turned off soon?
I.E. this two year contract will last longer than their 3G network?

Personally I would not go with this company they never answer the phone, always on voicemail, and take a couple of days to repllay to an emails, they seem like a one-man band (edited)
    redzarf's avatar
This was my experience too (no/slow replies). But the price is good enough for me to think about giving them another go.

They have also activated 5g this week (edited)

A bit of a hassle but switching every few months between Lyca and Lebara will be a lot cheaper with their 5p offers. Just a reminder required on the phone calendar. For one of the phones in our household, I am spending under £1 annually doing this.

Respect for going through the hassle

I've recently got the one year deal. SIM arrived in three days and I sent them the required email to tell them to activate the SIM. Got a reply the next day saying it was logged. Just waiting on them to port a number which I was able to fill in the details online on their support pages. Supposed to take two days. Will update when it's done considering customer ratio and size of company I can't imagine it would be any worse than any large mobile provider who have millions of customers to service.

    I purchased 24 month SIM for £35 last week and having issues with mobile data. The "4G" symbol on my phone is greyed out which means no mobile data. I emailed customer support and received the following reply;

"We are currently undergoing an upgrade to 5G with EE and this is causing some outages. We are working with them to resolve it as soon as possible.

    Best Wishes"

I still have no access to mobile data which I find really frustrating! Anyone else having the same issue?

Try setting preferred network type to auto. Then I'd put roaming on, this can get you better speeds in some cases. As long as you remember to turn it off when you do actually roam.

I'd need to double check what apn mine uses later, if you still can't get sorted out.

2gb of data! So basically don't use your phone outside of the house!
    Canary0500's avatar
More than enough for lots of people, I use on average about 500mb data per month.
  9. paulsl's avatar
It seems wi-fi calling is not supported at the moment which makes it a non-starter for me.
    spannerzone's avatar
and possibly more important is no 4G voice calls (VoLTE) so the signal coverage is not the same as EE as RWG has to drop down to 2g or 3g to make/receive voice calls. This is due to change but no date given.
  10. Spottydog234's avatar
Bought this, and it's good, but as it's not a normal bundle, there's no way to see what data you have left. If you text the number to check your balance (there is no app), the response is something like "you don't have any bundle enabled." You get the data, and it works for what I need, but it would be good to know how much you have left. (edited)

i wouldn't pay upfront for 2 years as they may not be around by that time!!

    They've been around since 2015.

Also, its £35.......not going to break the bank is it.

I'm trying to get this for my little sister who's currently with O2 and wants to keep her number.

    How do I do that?

Do you need to enter the PAC code somewhere or order the sim and then make arrangements later?
    jrw's avatar
    Order and then request PAC.

Is this the same VOLTE call setup they offered when they were with 3 some years back or voice over the network now
They don’t offer 4g calling at the mo or wifi calling. They only use the higher bands of 4g too. That’s not necessary a bad thing as 800MHz can be slow.

However if they upgrade to 5g then no point in restricting 4g or maybe 5g will be restricted to one band. No one knows tbh.

However I’ve still to find roaming prices for South Africa, Barbados and Switzerland?

EDIT: Finally they sent them after going back and forth. The rates on their website are for calling the countries from the UK. Not roaming.

    49827250-whAUN.jpgPrices in £

These are cracking rates for the country. Yes you can’t hammer it but for WhatsApp it’s great.
You have to ask yourself why companies are charging pounds per MB? Either their negotiating teams are crap or they’re all over charging.

I’ve finally found EU roaming is the same price as out allowance costs so 5p a min, 5p a text and 1p MB so not too bad if like me and just use roaming to stay in contact with loved ones. Lots of Wifi in Europe these days for data. (edited)

Does the 24 months starts from date you ordered or do you activate it ie month down the line after ordering?
    FIREAT40's avatar
I believe from SIM activation day.
  16. Anon32's avatar
Anyone have the same issue that it cannot call landline numbers? I got 2 SIMs and they both cant call landlines. I contacted RWG and they said to reset the network but that did not work. Have not heard from them after saying that.

I have to ask are you dialling the numbers with the area code on the front? If you are then it might be worth checking that outgoing calls are not barred somehow. Even though i’ve not seen how you can just bar landlines. Might be worth resetting call forwarding settings etc…

    Bar that order new sims.

How long does it to receive the SIM cards? I've ordered mine on Sunday night, nothing yet
    redzarf's avatar
I ordered one on Sunday and it arrived, but I forget which day. I ordered another on Tuesday which hasn't arrived. Will have to wait until after Easter I guess.

bankrupt in a year this company will be and you will lose your cherished mobile numbers.

    Too good to be true
    FIREAT40's avatar
I am sure that we can ask for PAC code to transfer the number? Please correct me if I am wrong
  19. McAfeeman's avatar
Silly question but can I use this sim in London?
    harrythefish's avatar
Yes, roaming in England is supported.
  20. blonk's avatar
Conversely I found them very good in helping and replied to email the same day
  21. polarbaba's avatar
They are always helpful but take a reply long time to get back to you, especially if it's later on in the week, then expect a response in the next week.
  22. tanikk£'s avatar
can allowance be used in EU?
  23. UKScottDeals's avatar
Thanks for highlighting this deal. I took the plunge and went for £45 for 2 years 2GB data including EU roaming as I do quite a bit of EU travelling, so the extra £5 a year is well worth it. The link to the £45 deal from the above hotdeals link is broken (takes you to a data addin page instead), but can be accessed here: rwgmobile.wales/web…rs/

Currently paying £9.50 per month on Virgin Mobile for 2GB (+ 2GB roll over - my usage is <750 MB a month). However, Virgin reception has become pants since it moved to O2, and I am no longer happy with the price for what I am getting. If I like RWG after I trial it at home and abroad I will port my number over to the new SIM and cancel Virgin Mobile (I am out of contract). (edited)

I might get this for my in-laws or even my son.
  25. Anon32's avatar
Probably wont continue at 1p-5p for too long though - I'm on lebara for 5p til August

At £1.45 a month this £35 deal for 2 years locks you in - but will RWG last for 2 years? thats my thinking - no roaming either

The sim is switched on for roaming. It is Not a UK only sim

Got the 12m deal for daughter month ago, so far no issues, ported number over easy enough.
    Mebster's avatar
How did you port the number?

Is it as jrw says and you ordered the SIM first and then did something with the PAC code after?
  29. Cheeseontoast2022's avatar
£35 is pretty good for two years!! Good for light users, have ordered and may give to family member who is paying £10 a month, so this will be a big saving

Agree. Pretty good deal for light users.

This sounds too good to be true. Reminds me of Ovivo that went tits up having taken people's one off payment.
    smackos's avatar
It's not, they've been around a while now. Quite a few of us on here have had them in the past.
  32. Zesh's avatar
How long do you have after ordering to activate the SIM? usual rule of thumb is 90 days but not sure?
    Blitz8448's avatar
Good question, I'm intrigued myself... My Lyca runs out in 3 months, so if 90 days from order. This works out perfectly for replacement...
  33. amadeus53's avatar
where you can check the activation date and expiry date once you have activated the sim? ANy idea

That's a really strange issue. I have called my GP and dentist on their landline and no issues.

Is there an app to check account usage without sending an SMS. SMS is just so inconvenient nowadays
    FIREAT40's avatar
    No app at the moment

So I got the SIM on Monday and transferred my number.ber over today, all good so far... but I cannot check what my status for the bundle... I tried Info ukrwg24 but keeps saying no bundle found.
    FIREAT40's avatar
I assume you purchased this bundle when you ordered your SIM? you can email support@rwgmobile.com to ask about your issue. Please let me know the outcome

Please approach this company and deal with extreme caution. I wish that I have looked at the recent reviews on Trustpilot before taking the plunge and buying from these cowboys. Took 3 days for a number port to complete and left me unreachable on my original number for all that time. Also made the mistake of purchasing one of their data only SIMs which remains inactivated after a week now despite multiple emails, support requests and messaging them on their facebook page. Just try and phone their support line and listen to the message stating that their agents are unavailable all the time and you will know what I am talking about here. I will give them to the beginning of next week to see if they will activate my SIM before reporting the issue to my card issuer and cancelling my accounts.
  38. huntk1's avatar
I've been waiting 8 days for my number to port in. Absolutely ridiculous.
No one replies to emails and no one answers the support telephone number.
    Avoid like the plague
    jrw's avatar
By contrast my mother's number was ported the same day
