As it says on the tin - worth noting that the monthly cost will go up by RPI + 3.9% in April, but this looks like a great deal nonetheless. You will have to go through the uSwitch site directly as HUKD seems to be blocking it as they can't affiliate above uSwitch (who are an affiliate).

I'm a uber driver so go pretty much everywhere I recently went for o2 and left ee what a big mistake that was o2 data coverage is very poor almost everywhere I went mainly the Midlands area luckily I'm still in the 14 day cooling off period I have just cancelled and gone back to ee. EE is expensive but you get what you pay for never had a problem with coverage with ee. So be aware it's cheap for a reason,

Yip . I travel the whole country ( and further afield) for work. Periodically test all the networks. EE is head and shoulders above the rest. Expensive unfortunately, but you truly get what you pay for.

Correct URL for deal: Link or Link or Google "uSwitch SIM only deals" & filter for o2 only & monthly cost
Existing contracts can be upgraded & keep existing SIM. Recommend setting £0 spend limit cap for no surprise phone bills.
If you get an error when trying to upgrade, it's probably because you don't have an active DD set up. Call CS to reactivate, & then sign up for this deal.
£12 potential topcashback available too (but likely to be declined)
Don't forget if you upgrade & have multiple SIMS, to continue with the multi sim discount you need to text from each mobile:
Text LOYALTY (listing all your mobile phone numbers) to 21500 from your existing number, within 28 days

"Recommend setting £0 spend limit cap for no surprise phone bills".

just to share an opinion/advice, if you ever needed to call 101 / 111 there is a small charge of something like 15p for the call, if you set your limits to £0, you wont be able to make this important call. i would recommend the lowest available charge after £0, usually £5 or £10, I hope this helps.

Can anybody help with the following questions, just tried to do a live chat seems impossible to speak to anyone

Do they have Wi-Fi and 4g calling

When does the contract start on the day you order or when you put the SIM card in

I assume if you're not happy you can cancel with in the first 14 days

    Do they allow three-way calling

    TIA
    ace.master's avatar
    ace.master
Yes to Wi-Fi and 4G calling.

Billing will start on the day your order ships (when you receive the sim dispatch email), which may or may not be the day you place the order.

Yes 14-day cool off cancellation period is standard across all networks/contracts.

Not sure about 3-way calling though sorry.

me and OH were both on the £5 2GB offer. multi save made that £9 until the RPI took it higher. so now both upgraded to this £5 plan.
having kept the same numbers do we have to do the texting things again? would this be done when the new contract is active which i believe is midnight tonight?
thank you and thank you OP.

Anyone know the procedure for getting an eSim with the deal?

I'm presuming you have to wait for the plastic sim to arrive in the post so you can use the o2 app to request the eSim?

I have virgin broadband. Do I just sign up, buying the sim as new customer. Then activate volt afterwards for the double data and broadband speeds?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    tonyawesome69
It doesn't necessarily have to be the same name. The O2 Pay monthly and Virgin Media account only need to have the same address to get the volt benefits.

"I’m a Virgin Media broadband customer with Volt benefits (as a result of living with an O2 Pay Monthly plan customer)

When your household is with both Virgin Media and O2, you’ll get supercharged speeds, data and WiFi. That means double the mobile data on every eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your household. A broadband speed boost to the next available level (if you aren’t already on the fastest speeds you can get in your area) and up to 3 WiFi Pods (if needed) at no extra cost. And O2 Travel Inclusive Zone, so you can use your O2 phone or sim in 75 destinations, at no extra cost." (edited)

No idea, but after completing the switch, the only extra available was '3 months of free Disney+'. Someone else above said similar, so you should probably assume the only extra is Disney+.

Question for anyone please, I have Virgin Broadband and just ordered this sim card, do I just login to my O2 to activate volt when the sim card arrives to get the double speed and also get the double data?

Secondly can I have multiple of this sim card and get double data on all of them?

    Thanks in advance.

The doubling of O2 data is done automatically - can't recall now - but allow 2 weeks. The doubling will apply to all O2 Sims on your account. The O2 and Virgin accounts need to have the same surname and address. The Virgin Broadband speed upgrade is also automatically upgraded and take about the same time from memory.

Already on Virgin mobile, can I transfer the number to o2 given that they're the same company ?
    Kal007's avatar

Yes part of the same company but different operator. so just request a PAC code and you can then port the number to O2.

If you’re switching through from uswitch and see the live chat option. Don’t waste your time. They’ll take all your details then say they don’t have access to the uswitch deal (despite asking for links) and say they can instead move you to a £7 pm offer with worse data! So really just proceed to check out

Ps2 it’s unlikely TCB will work (£12) if you are an existing customer. It should if you are switching INTO O2

Folks that are getting early termination charges when trying to upgrade tariff might be due to having O2 refresh and sim only contract.

Went for this and it's all gone through (existing pay monthly customer).

It's only offering me 3 months Disney+ as an extra in my account. No Amazon Prime or anything else.

How do you get Amazon prime free for 3 months - assuming it's still available.
    prometheusnx's avatar
    prometheusnx
I have all the options, but Disney+ is the only one showing up as having an offer. I tried selecting the Prime one but all it seems to want to do is charge the £8.99 for a minimum of 6 months with no hint of an offer. So I don't know whether it's something different or not with this deal.

Dumb question this, but as an existing Three customer out of contract what's the simplest procedure for keeping the same number, when these SIMs will come complete with new numbers?
    parpenbhwarg's avatar
    parpenbhwarg
Text PAC to 65075 from your Three number and you’ll get a code that you can provide to O2 after the SIM arrives. You can pick a day for the transfer too.

Thanks OP. Two bought separately - one for me and one for wife - via 2 TCB accounts for the £12 on each SIM.

I imagine there’s a way to get the family discount afterwards, even though they’re currently on separate accounts?
    Michael_Nottingham's avatar
    Michael_Nottingham
If on separate accounts no - o2 systems aren't capable. I did push this and it was the final poor answer I got. If allon the same account yes - if you text loyalty (can't remember the short code but you can Google it)

Can anyone just confirm how EU Roaming works? Does this mean that I'll have 10GB of data within the EU, or if I have more than 25GB, I'll have a 25GB allowance?
    tonyawesome69's avatar
    tonyawesome69
It means you only have 10GB of data to use within EU with this tariff. If you were on a data plan with over 25GB, you are limited to 25GB max

So am I missing something here

I'm trying to upgrade an existing number which I've done plenty before when a new good deal comes through.

Now it's stating upgrade the number for £47 or wait until November 2023

I've got DD set up and everything. Can you no longer change tariff mid contract ?
    colin79666's avatar
    colin79666
I had this on another upgrade. Clicking checkout then showed a line removing the fee. Worth a shot, you have to go through several steps before actually committing so you can bail if it doesn’t work.

Why does O2 ask first if I will be using the sim on iphone or another set? Will they send you different sim? What happens if you change phone in few months?
    keefly's avatar
    keefly
I'm not an Apple fanboi but as I understand it iPhones require a different provider setting to provision data correctly - it just means O2 set it immediately on the new account so iPhone users don't call them complaining that data isn't working when they put their SIM into their overpriced precious. I've managed to apply ok for 2 sim cards, trying to get another 2 but bizarrely failed the credit check. (Not sure what they are checking for with £5 a month and £0 spend limit) anyone else had similar? Do I just need to wait for the initial Sims to arrive?
    jazzman466's avatar

Yep, I had the same thing. Perfect credit score too but they wouldn't let me have the 3rd line on my account (prob as I've only just switched to them and have bought 2 Sims on my account.)
If o2 have messed up my credit score in any way over a measly £5 per month SIM I'm not going to be happy.

    xx123's avatar
    xx123
If they are saying credit referrals have declined your application it won't be resolved in any time frame, it's a definitive answer and decision.

Once your circumstances change you may be able to make a new application but this one would be considered closed.

If you already have a line or lines with o2 they usually allow a revisit for a new application after 3-6 months of acceptable conduct on the account, if it's for other credit file issues it would need the credit file issues to be resolved.

Can anyone help pleased with an O2 related issue, I've received a PAYG SIM so I can test out the signal, I've gone through creating account, installed app etc but I can't manage to top it up, every time I try using different credit/debit cards I get an error message Sorry, it’s not been possible to take your payment. Your phone has not been topped up. Please try again or use another card. If the problem continues you’ll need to contact your bank.'
(there's no issues whatsoever with my payment cards)

I've tried Google search and come up with answers like your 1st top up has to be an e top-up or a top up you buy from a corner shop which seems a bit ridiculous.

I've tried phoning but it's almost impossible to get to speak to someone, having waded through all the automated stuff it just rings unanswered, beginning to think I've dodged a bullet here wondering what mess they'd go on to make of PACing my number in if I could get that far.
Has anyone else had this issue ?
