25 movies from my JustWatch watchlist are on Disney+, so this is definitely worth it for me. "Banshees of Insherin" and "Barbarian" (The horror movie) are a couple of examples, so it's not all Marvel & Star Wars.

For people who don't know: JustWatch.com is an excellent site that lets you keep a list of movies, and see which services are currently streaming them.

I check here every few days to see what’s new streaming on the different services

I've resubbed and the email seems to imply that it's only for 1 month a £1.99:-

    "PRICE £1.99 until 06 October 2023"
    82brighteyes's avatar
Mine said the same. I spoke to live chat and they said "regarding with your concern, the offer is £1.99/month for 3 months, on your next billing in October, it will still be £1.99"
  3. nobnoxious's avatar
This deal isn't so much because they're bleeding subscribers, as because they're transitioning to a new, much higher, price.

What used to be 5.99 per month just two years ago will now be 10.99 per month. That's an 83% price increase.

They're then introducing cheaper tiers that have lower resolution, poorer sound quality, and in some cases are ad supported.

There's no longer an option that I can see to get a year at the old price - it's 1.99 per month, followed by a switch to the new "premium" price of 10.99 per month.
    KangTC's avatar
There's still an option to get a year at the old price as an alternative to this offer.
  4. Ash9694's avatar
Or less than £20 a year using a Turkish vpn and fups card
    b1g1an's avatar
Is this a reliable route again now, the card making the difference I assume? After they cancelled my Turkish account a while ago I've been downloading everything of theirs out of principle, as warped a principle as that might be!

Loki Season 2 due for release on 6th October

    Meltigemini's avatar
Thanks for the reminder, I hadn't heard when it was coming. The announcement must have been very Loki.

Folks are missing out on Hulu/FX content by saying there's nothing to watch on there.

Delve a little deeper and find some excellent US shows

The Bear, Atlanta, DAVE and Reservation Dogs to name four. (edited)

Mr Inbetween, too! I binged all of that in a few days - utterly ridiculous, yet brilliant.

For some reason the button to Agree and Subscribe just does nothing
    ben.harris's avatar
Same here, using an account with existing card details. I had to re-enter them, and then it worked.
  8. Kamz13's avatar
I bought this today and I'm already bored and disappointed, my internet is pretty decent at 500mbps and some of the content was very choppy with sound cutting off randomly. Never had this issue with Netflix. The content itself looks extremely boring I might cancel before the 3 months are up.
    Crossbow's avatar
Could be a fault with the app cache, what device is it - inbuilt TV app or app on a separate device?
May help to uninstall & reinstall the app if possible.

I’ve just got 3 months for £3 of clubcard vouchers. Clubcard offer valid from the 6th September till the 20th September.
    Emandiz's avatar
    Is this account specific?

Found it, for some reason the app is still showing the full price (edited)

Open Lloyds Bank account and you can get Disney for free and a few hundred for switching...
    CarlFredericksen's avatar
I have Lloyds but can’t see it as an offer. Can you post more info, thanks
  11. alee1984's avatar
Why can’t I purchase 12 months codes anymore? Used to be loads on the net
    NoNamesLeftWhy's avatar
There was a massive glitch last year where god knows how many people exploited and sold the codes through simply changing the text in inspect element to trick the web browser into giving them codes, after it got shut down I haven't seen codes after that so Im assuming thats the main reason they are so rare now.
  12. rayliuphotographer's avatar
Call me cynical but is this not Disney's attempt at making people subscribe and tied in so that they pass the date of the price increase and then not be able to get the whole year at the current £79.99 a year.

If you want it for the year, much rather subscribe for a whole year end of October for £79.99 before the increase it to £10.99 a month
    LAS00's avatar
That's literally how all subscription offers work.
  13. danielwarelow's avatar
Renews at £10.99. Wasn't it £7.99, that's a huge hike if this is the new monthly price.
    Neil49's avatar
    It's the new monthly price.

I've got 3 months free via O2 Priority but have already diarised to cancel after 2 months.
  14. jordanleno's avatar
Smart and stealth move by Disney, enticing you with this offer and if you decide to keep it after 3 months, boom £10.99pm its gonna cost ya. Or without this offer, we lock you in for current price with no ads £7.99 pm or £79.90 annually to beat the price increase of £10.99pm without ads coming on Nov 1 (Placebo effect, I ''save'' money if I subscribe now). Definitely trying to claw back the cancelled subscriptions. Hope consumers are smart enough to play at this game, and we see more of these offers like the Apple+ ones.
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
An alternative perspective is we all get 3 months at the bargain price of £1.99 per month and then cancel our subscription
  15. thenexus6's avatar
Are you able to pay with your Google play credit? I have like £30 on there and never really use it for anything
    andrewworrall1's avatar
I paid my annual with Google Play credit. Just subscribe via the Android app and you should be able to use it
  16. Evander_Stewart's avatar
I'm currently on the normal price, how do i get £1.99 deal. Do i just cancel & rejoin, and it should offer me the £1.99 deal?
Can anyone help me, I know it's last minute.
    andrewworrall1's avatar
Well, you need to be a new or returning customer. If you have an active subscription you aren't eligible. If your subscription renews before 23:59 tomorrow then you could cancel and when it expires tomorrow, renew at £1.99/month

What you could do however, is just cancel the subscription you have now (take screenshots of your continue watching as they won't be transferred) and make a new account, paying the £1.99/month price

This deal expires tomorrow, Wednesday 20th September 2023, at 23:59 so you don't have long to do it unfortunately (edited)
  17. Hitcher's avatar
Must have lost a lot of subs recently. And if they stop sharing I'll be one of them.
    Optimus2050's avatar
Excellent Disney, so with people subscribing to this they miss out to get the annual subscription at the lower price now before the price increase
  18. johnwilliamson's avatar
Worth it just to watch Andor
  19. andrewworrall1's avatar
Looking forward to watching The Little Mermaid tonight on Disney+! Interesting to see it's valid for returning customers too not just new, glad to see that too. Heat added OP

With such offerings like Obi wan, she hulk and I jones crystal skull they should pay me to watch
    GiddyUpKramer's avatar
    Crystal Skull doesn't exist.
  21. Itssocheap's avatar
£10.99 per month where did that come from? £6.99 last time I had it. Never pay it anyway. Always an offer somewhere.
    joevictor53's avatar
They're going to have tiers now similar to Netflix. The current Disney+ monthly rate is £7.99 for 4K, several devices at the same time. They're moving that to the top tier at £10.99. The new £7.99 standard tier is only 1080p and 2 devices and the new lower tier is £4.99 for 1080p, 2 devices and ads
  22. Travelwanderer's avatar
12 million lost Disney + subscribers this year, $1 billion lost in their last 8 movies, 7000 employee layoffs and $200 billion wiped off the share price in two years. Disney is a sinking business! I'd expect more deals to come in order to draw in subscribers!
    drewbles82's avatar
don't forget the writers and actors strike. After what some of the CEO's have said, I'm surprised so many would want to give Disney any money at all. Basically said they can hold off for a very long time, sooner or later, these writers, actors will loose their homes and come running back. That is not a company I want to give my money to.
  23. dave5150's avatar
I left when it increased from £5.99 to £7.99 a month then rejoined for a year with a cheap code. Insane to think the price has nearly double to £10.99 a month in under two years!

Still a bargain at £1.99 for the next three months though so cancellation reminder set for late November. (edited)

I cancelled after the epic Samsung deal ended, just clicked the link and it worked. (edited)
  26. smorges's avatar
I'm on a 6 month Samsung voucher that expires on the 27th of September. Going into My Account it doesn't give me the option to cancel. It just shows my subscription is valid until the 27th and gives me the option to switch to annual, but nothing about cancelling. Anyone have any idea how I can cancel and then use this code before the 20th? Or am I borked and have to wait until the 27th, which will be too late for this code?
    Crossbow's avatar
Do an online chat with CS & they should be able to sort you out help.disneyplus.com/en-…hat
Or call them tomorrow... Talk to Disney+ support 020 3936 2903 - your name and account email are required. Local or international charges may apply.

I’ve got a 1 month current subscription through iTunes which ends on 25th Sept. Can I cancel this and then take up this offer?
    CatsWithThumbs's avatar
your subscription is still active until then, so probably not. I have a subscription active until tomorrow, although cancelled a few days ago, and I am not able to apply this as it is still active despite the cancellation

£2 a month is about all it's worth with the small amount of new content which dribbles on there.

You should amend the description on this. For existing customers it only works if your subscription is cancelled and expired. I cancelled my sub a couple of weeks ago but not eligible for this offer as my sub is still usable until expiry.

Even if they paid me, i would still not resubscribe to their garbage. £1.99 down the drain...
