sorted by"if your unsure about which rates your sim is using, simply put the sim in a phone call 4444 pick option 3 then option 2. Do this before topping up the sim"
Hubby did this when he got one last year. Hope it helps!
Several people saying opposing things and no real clarity.
Thanks
I bought one of these Sims for 99p on eBay in June 2018, it's still going fine with the initial £10 top up, and I've have had several years of O2 Priority perks.
Our whole family now have one, and just need to make a chargeable call/text every six months to keep it going.
If you buy one, and register on the My O2 app or website, it'll tell you what tariff you're on before you decide top add £10 top up.

You should be able to receive incoming calls without topping up too.
Then, if you're happy, add your £10 top up, and you should be able to register on the O2 Priority rewards app.
(And don't say road man tings)
i could also take advantage of the £10 bigbundle as it gives double data for 3 months as i didnt want to waste my topup i through sim card away i know its only 20pnce but i dont just through money away
From previous experience customer services they make stuff up all the time (sometimes innocently, sometimes intentionally). I had one of my Classic SIMs go inactive through my own stupidity at not making a call for 6 months (too busy eating the free vegan sausages rolls, drinking the free coffee and, at the time, watching free films at the Odeon!) They promised to reactivate the SIM (tick) and promised to credit the balance back onto the SIM (fail, so promises they make are often empty ones ).
o2.co.uk/hel…sim - "Can I get an O2 esim on Pay As You Go?"
at least , is still available for legacy users.
So it's not true that they no longer support the tariff.
However, they are likely refusing new registrations for it, though you might be lucky. (edited)
The Merlin annual pass discount was posted as an offer recently, so must be of value to some. Disney+ for £5.99 a month similar. (The Pure Gym offer is £1 rather than free - still a solid deal for occasional use on the odd Thursday)
I've ordered for the O2 priority perks ..thanks OP
As I currently have access to an O2 Pay Monthly SIM, but if I switch networks in the future I won't anymore, so this Classic SIM could come in handy years down the line.
If you have a spare handset, perhaps stick it in there for now but remember to keep it active! (edited)
Never mind i already have 2 running 1 Been with O2 Payg for over 10yrs the other only a couple months the first sim has been on the classic from the beginning when O2 brought it out i switch the sim over to it.
only ordered one
Edit: tried to place another order and got: "You can't purchase this item because the seller is on holiday." (edited)
All payments suspended while they' are looking into this
The more people that complain about this seller the better for everyone
Unfortunately, the seller had to cancel your order due to the following reason: Buyer asked to cancel the order.
Untrue.
But 30p or 35p for a call or SMS. I have to either send one SMS or make a call at least once every 6 months.
I wonder if I could get one of these, port my old O2 payg number out to another provider, then port it back into one of these.
I also don't know what would happen to the £20 credit I have on my Simply Pay As You Go sim card when I port my number away from it. (edited)
Big bundles only remove the credit if you top up the bundle amount. Keep your £30 bid bundle sim under £30 credit and no problems.
Even so, I believe those Sim bundles only last a month, then they expect you to top up again.
