Three 3 pay as you go

Posted 30th Jun 2023
Hi can someone confirm please whether Three sim only pay as you go renew every month (payment taken monthly) or min/txt and data can be carried over to the next month until data runs out therefore new top up is needed.

Thanks

If you choose one of the packs then it lasts a month before expiring. If you just load cash credit then it will remain until you use it all up. But if you want to do this - There are much cheaper options than Three PAYG. o2 Classic PAYG is 3p a minute, 2p a text, 1p a MB with no requirement to top up ever again as long as you make a chargeable call every 180 days. And 1p Mobile (EE) do 1p a minute, 1p a text, 1p a MB but must top up once every 120 days.

Yeah, the standard PAYG rates are so ridiculously high as to be punitive these days. I think Three is something like 100x the price for the same amount of data compared to their worst value add-on/pack.

The 'PAYG' term these days is basically either 1 month packs for those who have infrequent bursts of use, and pay-at-some-period-that-isn't-monthly options that require a top-up at every x days.

On the bright side, pay monthly contracts can be found for under £2 a month now, especially if you buy a year or two in advance.

Thanks everyone. Pay as you seems expensive after reading your posts. I'll have a look at the suggested plans. Cheers

If you need to be on Three then checkout Smarty it uses the same network but cheaper.
