I have one similar to this but it's the one that uses Makita LXT batteries. That's a great price including batteries. They kinda feel like toys but they do a good job of pruning branches. Even though they feel plasticky and look like toys, you got to treat it like any other power tool and wear appropriate PPE, use safely and not let kids have access to it, as they can do a lot of damage.

I bought mine on Onbuy which I know some people don't trust but I've never had any problems. You can get a Makita-compatible saw for under £20 with one 3AH battery here: onbuy.com/gb/…580
Onbuy do all sorts of knock-off Dewalt and Makita-compatible power tools. I bought a bunch out of pure curiosity and tbh some of them aren't half bad.

Really helpful, thanks. If you don't mind, I'd also be interested to know the other tools you tried and what did/didn't like about or whether you'd recommend them?

There is no automatic oiling of the chain. You need to oil the chain before each use otherwise it will seize / jam

I've the auto oil and they are not that good and leak when packed away so I oil myself now and much better

It's ok but only just. You do get what you pay for here. Make sure both batteries are always charged because they don't last long and this impairs the cutting ability when the charge lowers. I'd give it 6 out of 10 and 4 of that is for the price.

your comment regarding batteries versus comment below. I wonder who is right. But for 30 quid I ordered to check by myself :D.

I've got one of these. They are brilliant. Battery lasts for ages and you get 2. Ideal if you have a LogBurner

Think that log in third picture is way more than 4"/10cm

The deal does seem to have changed, but just make sure both boxes are checked - should be fine then

I bought this a couple of months back, paid £40 but had to return it, was a great saw but neither of the batteries lasted the expected time suggested
