Re the (automated?) warning text: mobile.lebara.com/gb/…ave

There are no annual price increases on Lebara plans, which includes Data , UK mins and UK texts. We did not increase our prices in 2022 and we will keep the prices of our plans fixed in 2023. Prices/Allowances for international minutes, Roaming and Pay as you go rates may change.

I'm with them on another offer, so I should port out then port in again with this offer right?
Any guidance is appreciated, also should I wait to order the Sim once port out is complete so I'm a new customer? Cheers

One account covers 4 Sims. So you can just technically order another SIM from the same account and be a new customer. You don't have to create another account unless you are maxing out of the 4 Sim quota

1, Text PAC to 65075 from your existing mobile network SIM (non-Lebara) to get the PAC code.
2, Order and Activate your Lebara SIM. Keep handy your temporary mobile number which will be on the SIM Pack or letter received.
3, Complete this form and it will be processed on the date selected by you. (edited)

@sajidtg. MSE is showing that the 3GB and 5GB have been extended to the 4th of July now. The 12GB is showing that it expires tomorrow morning.

Just bought the sim, when do they take the first payment, now or when its activated? and does the first payment cover the usage from now or when i put the sim in? thanks.

They take the first payment when you order the SIM. They take the second payment 30 days after you activate the SIM. You have up to 90 days to activate the SIM.

Anyone here switch to these guys from plusnet? I’ve never had any major issues with plusnet (bit annoying I don’t have Wi-Fi calling though). Plusnet bill has gone up to £6.83 per month and I’m on like 5gb data a month
    Thar's avatar

Yes, I did. I now get a signal inside building whereas I didn't used to on Plusnet due to the limited range. I still don't have WiFi calling though, but that's due to me having a pixel phone and nothing to do with Lebara.

I was happy with Plusnet, but I'm happier with Lebara, and paying a lot less.

Thank you for this - how does it work for payment? Do I have to top up every month, or can I set up a monthly direct debit or pay for the whole year in advance? I'm thinking of getting this for my mum
    jujuzeez's avatar
    jujuzeez
Once u set a payment at the point of purchase from the link. it automatically rolls u into auto-debit as soon as the sim arrives (u have 90 day window for activation). I'm presently on 5 quid a month/5gb Internet data

Anyone know what is the limit of data when roaming in EU on 12GB pack?
    Mooney_70's avatar
    Mooney_70
According to their t&c's they give you roaming data based on your average monthly use. So you'll be best using all your 12GB of data every month prior to using abroad.

You get your allowance and then you can top up a cash amount for any extras if you wish. You can turn auto top up off but you must keep auto renew on for your plan to stay at the promotional rate. (edited)

Not in the UK. It's annoying, seeing as most new phones run a single sim and a esim.

I actually got WiFi calling working by using Shizuku and Pixel IMS (various threads on the subjects) with Smarty eventually after they refunded my £8. Due to generally poor signal issues in my area with Three I tested my Lebara SIM this morning with the Shizuku/Pixel IMS workaround and it's fine. I've ported my number over from Smarty back to Lebara (my initial 6 months at Lebara had expired and I'd moved to Smarty but now back to Lebara).

Thanks to @Thar for the explanation on how to port out and back to Lebara here.

Slight correction to that, text PAC followed by your date of birth in dd/mm/yyyy format to 65075, to get the PAC from Three. So it's important to input your details in the Three Pay as You Go app first before requesting the PAC.

Also, you may need two phones as there was a gap transferring my number from Three to Lebara due to the long weekend (port-in was completed today 02/05), during which I continued using the new Lebara temp number.

I’m all set up with lebara. I have noticed with the app it says I am on the 5.90£ per month plan. Will it take 99p out for the first 6 months still?
    Mooney_70's avatar

If you log into your online account it should show you the correct price on there. And when it will change to full price after the 6 month offer.

    Mooney_70's avatar
    Mooney_70
You'll have to log into your account online to turn off the auto renew option. Only do it when you need to as doing it in error will end your offer price and revert to full price.

Sorry for the noob question, but is this something I have to top up every 30 days if its a 30 day rolling contract. I have just signed up and it has taken the 49p off my account, but I can't see any plan names or anything (autotop up is also off?)
    usenetz's avatar

As @Thar says auto renew should have been set up and, although not visible on the app, you can see it on the Lebara website and it looks like this when active:

When you no longer want to use this deal then you can deactivate but if done before end of deal there’s no getting that deal back again so be careful. When you deactivate you will see something like this:

If you order today you will pay for your first month today.
Your next payment will be when you activate it, if thats in two months time or even up to three months time then thats when your next payment will happen.

I seen a comment about unlinking number before porting out from Lebera for iMessage on iPhone. Is this true? Do I have to unlink my old number before porting out?
    Mooney_70's avatar
    Mooney_70
When you port out your number will become unlinked. Then linked again if you port back in. Not sure what the unlink part is for unless it's a temporary thing?

One issue with Lebara is that if you have a Google Pixel, you can't use Wifi or VOLTE calling via Lebara. Apparently Google doesn't allow this.

Only found out when I switched my wife's number to Lebara last week. She has a Pixel 4a that worked perfectly on BT Mobile but no wifi calling now on Lebara.
    cdman20's avatar
    cdman20
I switched to Lebara last week, and I've got a Pixel 7 and discovered the same issue. It seems like Lebara/ Vodafone/ Google need to resolve this officially to enable VoLTE and VoWIFI on Pixel devices.

However, I followed the steps here: github.com/kyu….md

This has successfully enabled both VoLTE and VoWIFI on my Pixel 7 on Lebara.

Admittedly, it's a mechanism that some people may not be comfortable following although it's straight forward enough.

I think the above steps only work on Pixel 6 and newer devices though, so unfortunately won't help those with older pixel devices.

Hopefully in the long term the issue gets officially resolved, but who knows when that might happen...

If I port out from Lebara to 3 so the number changes on Monday. Do you wait until Tuesday to initiate the port back for Wednesday, or can you do it it the same day your number transfers, e.g. Monday to swap back for Tuesday with Lebara.

I wanted to thank you. Thanks to you, Saj, I have been a loyal customer of Lebara for over 3 years. If I could make one wish, it would be this: 1 or 2 or even zero GB of data and 500 international minutes to 42 countries. I am one of the few people who don't have a smartphone but instead I have some relatives on the continent for whom it would be great to have more call minutes. Thanks again for your service, I really appreciate it. Best regards Vince

Heads up: I've had issues with enabling wi-fi calling on my Pixel 7 with Lebara. Contacted customer support and they stated that it's a technical issue with Google that they're working directly with the manufacturer on but I wasn't convinced. Their live chat also seems to be run offshore, with a lot of the operators unable to assist with basic queries.

Recently ordered their 3GB 99p deal. Sim arrived today (not opened yet). Obviously would rather go for this cheaper deal or the 5GB deal for same price. They’ve already taken the 99p off my account. How do I go about changing this over to this deal?

Probably a issue with Vodafone in your area rather than specifically Lebara. Check which networks work best where you are going to use them.

Can someone clarify. I've got a couple of sims on the old 94p/month 12gb deal from Black Friday, which expires at the end of this month. I want to move them to this, so I assume I have to port out and then back in again. How do I cancel the old contract from autorenewing this month-Just use the PAC code whenever I want?

You can turn off auto-renew with a simple switch in your account page when logged in, but using your PAC should permanently close your account.
