mine is about to die. I will get this one for sure

No taper adjuster? no good for fading unfortunately.

I do need a new shaver and trimmer..... If this doesn't seem good can anyone recomend a good all in one?(bear in mind mine is not in one device)

£15 on offer in Asda. Presume it’s the same model?

Think about it, it’s takes about 2-3 minutes per trim, that’s 20 - 30 uses. I use mine about every 4 days that is 80-120 days before you have to charge it ie 2.5-4 months a charge. Sounds very reasonable to me. Unless you trim for 30 minutes at a time none stop which I very much doubt

I'm confused. Voted hot though.

I've got one, had it for years. It's well worth the money, the one thing I will say is if you're looking for a beard trimmer for longer beards, I wouldn't recommend this as it trims quite close to the face, even on the longest setting with the guard. You're probably better off using a set of hairclippers with a guard. That being said for the money you can't go wrong with these.

I should add that it glides through the pubes like a gazelle over the Serengeti

Great beard trimmer. Previous one lasted me 5 years but I used it at least twice a week for head and beard. So at this price point it would be rude not to order!

Ordered thanks. Brought one 3 years ago but the battery wouldn’t last as long recently. Great beard trimmer though

Maybe I need to get something like this rather than using a razor, I seem to leave it a while between shaves and the razor at times doesn't seen suitable.

I agree with nonprofit both they are advertised as 18 hours charge and none of them are waterproof. The only one that i know is 1 hour charge with 1 hour use and showerproof is 7000 series. Maybe im wrong.

They are both advertised as 16 hour charges on amazon and Philips official site - not sure where you're getting your numbers from. The 5000 does give you 10mins more usage per charge though (80 v 70). My trimmer just packed in so this was the best deal I could find for what I needed right now.

I think I would get the 5000 as well. Will keep an eye out for that. Thanks

Also one hour charging for series 5000, instead of 10 hour charging for series 3000. If you wait 1-2 weeks , same deal will be back again, as always on Amazon . I should have posted here , but was very busy yesterday and saw it late.

Philips Series 7000 Beard Trimmer with Integrated Vacuum System £31 Amazon

Good price for good trimmer I'd guess. Wouldn't pay the original price but this drop changes a bit. Reviews are also ok, if vacuum works as it should, Mrs should be pleased too.

Any other good options now this has gone up in price?

The lowest is 0.4

Hello mate, does the 500 go down to 0.5 length?

How close of a shave does it give?

Had the same issue with mine. Was around 9-10 months though after purchasing. It was from Costco, so no questions asked about getting a replacement. Treat mine very carefully as well now when cleaning.

I've got this. Not as good as my previous one (also Philips - lost the charger, they're all bloody different!) Does the job but the guard snapped after a few months. Superglued it back together and it lasted a few more months... rinse and repeat!

Spray some canned oil in there (Poundland)?

Can't recommend this highly enough. Bought mine November last year for 32 quid on amazon.

Probably, I guess that I had it a year. I may have had it longer. I could probably fix it myself but I found it easier to buy a new one. As I stood on the plastic trimming guard, and that seemed expensive to replace.

Doesn't it come with a 2 year warranty?

Death by nose hair. Rock and roll!

Scary stuff, never gonna use tweezers again will stick to trimming thanks

I'm guilty of pulling out my nose hairs in the past but not since I heard about the types of bacteria the nose contains and what infections can occur from exposed follicles. I considered it a load of tosh at first but before admission to a hospital ward you are screened for MRSA by them swabbing your hooter.

He thinks it's a phone..."still no answer!"

In that picture he just finished making that hair style all by himself...duh

What exactly is he doing in that pic :/ I may be wrong but but an educated guess says pretty boy there with his perfect locks is not about to go for a buzz cut and even if he was he would hacking the most of that off with scissors first. If you want decent clippers for your hair you get Osters, if you're on a budget and will settle for half decent you'll get by with Wahl but you really wouldn't use a Braun beard trimmer.

Should have check the pictures before asking... (embarrassed)

The Philips I'm replacing has been really good. It still is but I've lost the charger for the second time!

this one: very good for 17 quid all philips shavers have a pretty cheap flimsy heads though FYI The 7000 series in OP is the same price on amazon !

I was looking for one with USB charging. None of them seem to show pictures or say how they are charged so I gave up when it seemed like pot luck. Which one is it that you have?

I've swapped it for one without a vacuum at a similar price to save potential faffing. Now I know what you mean though I wish I'd stick with the vacuum. Still, the one I've got looks to have a slightly closer shave!

Just came here to post this, have had one for at least 5 years probably longer battery needs charging after every shave now but figured a new one with new blades might be worth it at this price. Will see how it goes if its not an upgrade i'll send it back.

I ended up with the MB4045. Not as good as this in terms of look or build quality but the battery life is a justifiable upgrade. I did pick it up for under £20 last year from Argos in the sale.

I have had mine for I think 2 years no battery problems here.

Had this before then tried others. This wins hands down. Purchased another, thanks OP!

I opened my old one and think it should be possible to replace the current batteries but when I took into account the cost of the new batteries, soldering iron and the waiting time for delivery I just decided to buy a new one.
