Global Rom, there isn't a global Version of the 128GB

That's just the CN version right? Not even global

Massive cuts to the OG ROG Snapdragon 845, the 2 is still hovering around £400

@MrSwitch any deals on the global version of this? As we're seeing price cuts to the BS2

There's this safety net test or something like that which passes & my HSBC app works fine (don't us gpay so dunno about that)

Biggest disappointment about this phone is that all of the accessories that are compatible for it are yet to be released and options for phone cases are minimal.

No problem. I thought if you ever needed to switch between on screen controls and gamepad then this might be easier for you! :)

Ahh thanks. Still don't need to do that now but appriciate you going to that lengths anyway

I've not used dolphin in a while, I only have a mid range phone now anyway. I do remember an option to "toggle" though, so they may have changed it. EDIT: I've just seen this on Reddit when the same question was asked, so definitely used to be there! "To do this, run a game first. Then swipe down on the screen to bring up the menu bar. Now press the ... button, tap Configure Controls> Toggle Controls>, then finally press "Toggle All". This will clear the on-screen controls GUI"

Just tried and no options to hide it in settings. What I had to do is go to the settings where I can arrange the buttons on screen... from there.... I just slid them all the way off the screen and used the control pad :)

They do mate. Around 1.8GB a game

RRP isn’t a deal for me. So have to vote cold. Great phone reviews say you don’t need all the accessories at all. Works great as it is. I’m in agreement that it’s better to get the best version of this phone but if you don’t need all the power and want to save £300-£400 or so then this is a good phone.

Does any retailer have this on display. Have to just have a look and see how heavy and rugged this is

This is a great phone but heavy, thick and the looks aren't the best (or should I say not to everyone's taste). I'd rather have the 12gb of ram version. If you're buying one of the world's fastest phones then you want the faster version. Accessories for this phone are hard to get and very expensive. The game pad sets you back about £80 and the dock is over £100. It'd sold as a gaming phone but unfortunately there are no games. You're stuck with the usual play store games. They needed to release their own game store like Nvidea did with the shield tablet and shield TV.

RRP yep! Still a good price for this phone, though laptop outlets are generally in the ebay codes we've been getting lately, so if you desperately want this phone, you may as well wait for that if you can. Heat added for the specs vs the price :)

Great phone but this is RRP and has been this price since release. Laptop Outlet also own Asus UK store which has sold this phone for £599 since it first appeared on the scene.

@neuromantic thanks for the update, much appreciated. I'm happy to update manually using the firmwares from Asus website. Seems like a simple process! Thanks again for the information, Very useful and helpful! (y)

@Michael_Barkero91 The phone came with the we fingerprint, however I do not get it's updates. All I do though, is go to the Asus website, download the new firmware and reboot the phone. It does the update, reboot again and good to go. For the saving over a UK model, I think the small effort is worthwhile. I'm liking the phone, android 10 is good on it. My only issue at the moment is that some apps notifications don't seem to be coming through. HotUKDeals is one example actually. I might do a full reset as I haven't done one since updating to android 10 and see if that's the cause.

@neuromantic I know this is an old thread, but did you get OTA Updates on the version of the phone you got from Wowcamera out of the box? Or did you have to update the fingerprint on the phone to make it WW instead of CN? Really want this phone but worried if I order, I'll be stuck on the same firmware forever!

As my iPhone 7 charging port is not working properly i bought a grade a refurb iPhone XS Max 512GB for £530 Felt for the money and ease of continuing with iOS and uk warranty, it makes sense for me. Beyond this Asus and Samsung I don’t know much about the other android brands so skipped over them. Happy to hold on to this phone for the next couple of years and revisit the whole iOS vs Android debate again. Rogspeed to all you super phone users out there. Glad it looks like you’ve got the global version.

Yea, I think for the money, it's a good deal.

I enjoyed VR on my phone so much I bought a HTC Vive. VR is alive and well, I just have no idea about phone VR these days. This phone is likely too big to fit in most "Universal" phone VR headsets anyway.

What happened to mention of the Cortex-A73 chip. Used to luv VR on my Note 3?.

Sure you can do that if you want. It's also the most powerful phone on the market (barring the 12gb big brother) for £550..... Plenty of uses other than games for that big 120hz screen and fantastic front stereo speakers.

Its a phone that plays bubblehead games. Sad.

I bought this version last week at £650 from the Asus store. I'm really enjoying it. I did a benchmark with AnTuTu and the only phone to beat it, is the 12Gb big brother. I've had no issues with signal on EE, but have not checked if it has band 20 (Just downloaded an app to check). I'm enjoying the large screen, the camera is a decent step up from my last phone (S8 Plus). I've played a couple of games of COD mobile, and it runs great, the air triggers are very helpful. Overall, I'm really happy, even if I paid £100 extra on the price it is now!
