It's all about how people feel good about giving and also how charities have to battle every day to raise money for their cause. People give to charity but need a reward element, for some like yourself get satisfaction just from the act of giving. Some need a reward like a chance to win a raffle, others are content to go to a Fete, buy tea and items from stalls. I have a nice old lady collecting every few weeks for a subscription to the local hospice, she gets satisfaction from the interaction as well as a bit of pocket money, I get it from her thanks and enthusiasm. I wear a symbol when possible, such as the Poppy, to keep awareness going with those I meet. Depending on the time I could be growing a 'tache or sporting a daffodil or Well man badge. Telling those that give how to conduct or present themselves is not helpful.
I think you’re spot on
I agree. Why even have the plastic poppy (and paper). Just give if you can to whatever you can. You don't need the the ribbon or poppy or plastic arm band. But again it is up to you. Ever see me in public and assume because I'm not wearing it means I don't support it.Well you would be a massive idiot.
If some of the people who buy these wouldnt normally donate 2.25 then as someone else has said its win win. Or maybees you empty yr purse of its small change for a paper poppy and buy these, win win. Maybees people gained employment/overtime for a while to make these, win win. People wear the cross as jewellery so why not poppies. If people like the flower poppy outside of remembrance why should they not be able to buy poppy jewellery. That aside i think we need to be a bit more forgiving about how decide to express themselves. Someone who remembers with a pair of earrings in their ears is no less than the person who has a knitted poppy on. Imo. I donate each year but i never take a poppy, thats my choice, i dont want another piece of plastic to be responsible for. I dont feel i should answer why i dont wear one.
Heat added. Nice find. (highfive)

Check with Wilkos for absolute for certainty, but would be inclined to say yes. :)
