My father enjoys this, never tried it myself. Amazon reviews rate it 4.6.

Massively sweet on the tongue, fades quickly leaving a cigarette ash aftertaste. Not for me.

Its a strange one - but I love it!

That saves me asking what this is like (y) 🏻

Love this whisky, it's different as you get some smoky flavour straight away which then softens off to quite a sweet taste.

Just looking for a flame 🦌 here....

Would buy something else for the same or less tbh.

This is a good price, even if it's not the cheapest ever, definitely hot. Glenmorangie at £25 is a bargain too.

But if you want it now.......

Asda also currently have it on special at £27.

Glenfiddich IPA experiment - £36 Instore @ Waitrose & Partners (York)

Bought in store in Waitrose York.

It’s a single malt whiskey, finished in casks that had been previously filled with IPA, rather than a beer.

It does seem a bit pricey for less than a pint and a half of India Pale Ale

Think it's nationwide Waitrose and this isn't horrendous it's just Glenfiddich experimenting with an IPA cask whisky. The XX is a lot weirder

Not sure why cold? Not seen it anywhere cheaper, and I’ve just received this today from Amazon, heat from me (y) 🏻

(lol) Not something I’ve tried so figured why not

Back down to £27. Also reduced at Sainsbury's, if that helps anyone. Awarded ‘Master’ (highest honour) at the Global Spirits Masters Awards 2017 and Scotch Whisky Masters 2019 an… Read more

Hmm, everything post Christmas seems to be £2 more than it used to be at the moment, £25 was a reasonable price for this and I suspect now that will be £27, Glenmorangie 10 has crept up a pound or two, Highland Park 12 is £26 instead of £25 at Sainsburys etc.

Always dependable. £2 more than I like to pay, but the shelf is a bit sparse at moment so ordered.

That's exactly what i was expecting when i bought a 15yr bottle... But.... I didn't like it as much lol, I'm not complaining though because the 12 is cheaper hehe

The 15 year old often on sale for £7-£8 more than this and its a huge stepup from the 12. I would say get that instead. The 12 is still nice but the 15 is gorgeous

Yeah, I think it's a victim of its own success. It became the ubiquitous pub malt, causing some to look down their noses at it. It's still a very nice malt.

Totally agree with you however whisky is purely subjective, some folk will be ecstatic by this deal as it’s their favourite. This particulars whisky is not for me. I posted the Glenrothes 12 a couple of weeks ago for £30 - normally £45 odd. Got voted so cold!

I don't want to post it as a new deal but here's another good one: Don't know why hukd rotating it:)

aye it's not a bad dram but the £43 RRP is totally outrageous and even £32 is pushing it......imho of course

I'm glad they've put it in a tube - when I got mine a couple of years ago it was just bottles sat on a shelf - made it look a bit cheap.

It was a happy day in 2019 when I discovered this for £25 in Sainsbury's, not to be repeated though. Very tasty and I liked it a lot, but £32 puts it into a different price bracket and I'm finding the Ledaig 10 is at a different level of tastiness. Was fairly take it or leave it about the Bunnahabhain 12, but it's one on my list to try again as I had a bottle of it early in my whisky journey and was a bit disappointed with it - I think I might appreciate it more second time round.

Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 70 cl Slow dispatch but good price!

Irish wise only had Jameson, Jameson stout, and green spot. Which i realise is like saying the only bourbon(Tennessee) I've had is jd Tbh....they hardly taste of anything to me hence reluctant to drop 40 quid on a bottle of redbreast which was recommended to me, unless its significantly better

It sounds like you're way ahead of me in exploring bourbon - have you tried corn whiskey? I've seen reviews on Mellow Corn - sometimes drops below £30 and is 50% ABV. I'm also starting to explore Irish Whiskey - I got a bottle of Teeling Small Batch Blend in a yellow ticket deal at Waitrose recently and I'm really enjoying it.

Ps wild Turkey 101 i liked a lot. Try and grab it when its £23. I bite on bulleit when it's £18 and makers mark when its around £20

Thanks for responding. I've had pretty much all the mainstream bourbons in the sub-£30 range but recently had my first £40+ (although i didnt pay anywhere near that thanks to this site) It was four roses single barrel and it was massively underwhelming and no better than eagle rare, woodford, bulleit and the like. I dont want to risk another £40+ purchase in case theres a point of diminishing returns with bourbon. Or my palette!

I don't drink a lot of bourbon - I tend to find the vanilla taste overpowers everything else when drinking neat. However, I always have a bottle in. I currently have a bottle of Bulleit which is cheap, but pleasant. I had a bottle of Eagle Rare a month or so back and I can see why people rave about it, but the vanilla taste was very strong. I was at a whisky fair last year and got to taste the Woodford Reserve and the double oak version - the double oak was so much nicer, but then it's probably about £20 more expensive too! My next bourbon will probably be the Wild Turkey 101.
