You made it sound horrible but I clicked your link and they have 13k+ reviews and 4/5 stars. Are you looking for a 5 star company??

Doesn't seem like you can purchase this deal as an e-sim. I googled how to switch lyca physical sim to e-sim, seems pretty straight forward.

It’s easy to switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM ! Here’s what you do:
Go to Lycamobile.co.uk and order a free eSIMOnce you have bought it, you will receive a confirmation email with a QR codeScan the QR code and install the eSIM on your deviceLogin to your Lyca Mobile account from our websiteGo to Account Manager sectionClick on “SIM Swap” option on the navigation panel on the leftSelect the option to switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM

Internet is being throttled but it's not a biggie for me. Having more problems right now with Sky Mobile though...many of my calls aren't even connecting.

Currently on the second month of the 1p deal (for 6 months) but just received a text saying it will renew at 49p, has anyone experienced this? Seems as though both my 1p sims I ordered have moved to the 49p out of nowhere. Tried contacting them on their web chat but it keeps getting disconnected. (edited)

I had this too. Email no reply. Chat cut off, so resorted to Twitter. This is the reply
    Dear ......
, We understand that you are concerned about the bundle renewal price. Please be informed that the text notification has been triggered for old customers incorrectly. 49p a month is applicable only to new customers who signed up on or after May 22, 2023. The MSE 3GB plan will be renewed at 1p for those who signed up prior to May 22, 2023.For terms and conditions of the plan, please refer to this link: lycamobile.co.uk/ucu…b/… Note: Old customers will get EU roaming data cap of 1 GB whereas new customers those who signed up after May 22, 2023, will get EU roaming data cap of 2.5 GB.To check plan or bundle allowances, dial *137# - Karthik from Lycamobile

I just missed a monthly payment for my plan because my credit card was used fraudulently, got a new card then didn't update the details with Lyca. So lyca ended the plan immediately and I could not just login to my Lyca account to resume the plan nor could I choose another plan. I phoned them today and they said that I could use the guest login and that If I get another plan I would not need another number so I tried that and no that is not possible. So I phoned them again and a different guy said that I would not be able to recover my number nor port out nor was interested in recording a complaint for the first round of misinformation they gave. All he said I could do was get another different plan and leave the old number behind. Ignoring both of their misinformation I tried requesting a pac code and I can do so, so I will leave.
It is terrible that they haven't made a system to use a PAC code between plans and that they don't leave a window open to replace card details and resume the plan. It was only one day later that I asked to update my card details after the payment was missed. Terrible service.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Even if you had updated your card details before payment was due, you will have had to switch over to the full-price plan. I found that out last month - I had updated my payment card on my Lyca account long before payment was due, but the payment still failed. Customer support informed me that these deals are linked to your original payment method and any amendment to the payment method will unfortunately void the deal. (edited)

Can't beat the price. Works fine if you are lucky, rubbish other times. Have been with them for several years and just switched to O2.
Don't keep it as a primary number and don't port primary number to them, one that you provide to banks. I kept getting issues of not receiving the authorisation codes from banks, vendors, resulted in having to visit bank branches to unlock the locked accounts.
The issue I faced most was my incoming sms and calls would stop working while outgoing worked fine.
You don't notice the issue until someone reports it or a bank account gets locked or a transaction is blocked as a fraud prevention team could not reach you.
They are also rubbish at allowing your number to be ported.

Took me three attempts but PAC worked, coverage spotty ( even in London) . 4G reported as 3G even after changing APN

If you had a link I'd jump on it, was hoping it would come up. I switched to the lebara 5p deal and it's really sketchy service at times. Usually when I want to use my free international minutes.

    Yes.

If you are a Lyca customer already you need to port out to another provider and back in.

Careful whoever wants to use the international minutes. It's limited to few countries only, not India, Singapore or Australia, for example. Other Lyca plans allow more countries.

Not as good 1p/6 months deal but still good. Was worried about number transfer PAC issues after reading here but two numbers went across seamlessly. Hoping to not ever deal with CS as I'm sure that will be a nightmare.

Is there any chance to connect that to Samsung Watch 5? I'm with o2, and their chat is not working any more. Would that work, or that is just for a new number eSim?

    Good deal

I have 6 weeks to go on my present Lyca sim. Can I get this and activate it in 6 weeks time. I will just use different e mail address. Not bothered about keeping number.

I have a Lyca sim and I will enjoy this deal.
Comparing Lyca to Lebara (o2 to Vodafone) I am a bit disappointed.

Lebara for me has better coverage and data speed.

I wouldn't touch Lyca mobile. I was on the 1p per month 6 month plan, first month renewed ok, 2nd month it didn't. They claim insufficient balance to take the 1p even though my card details were fine.
They tend to do this when they want rid of the cheaper promotion for a more expensive one.
I can't have the 1p any more, but could have the £1 deal, basically paying 99p extra per month for the same thing.
    Customer care is also terrible
    IRONM4N_UK's avatar
    IRONM4N_UK
    That would annoy me
That said I have a 2nd line as esim on Lyca with 3GB data as a reserve.
    At 1p its brilliant
At £1 I would probably still keep it

Took the 1p deal for 6 months after 3 months sent text saying it will renew at 49p rather than the 1p deal.

My SIM stopped working this week.
The phone can see it but I have no signal. My plan was also renewed last night, according to the latest email.
Called Lyca this morning and spoke with a lass in the Philippines.
Apparently, I need to wait 24~48 hours, while my problem is escalated to technical.
I will also be required to phone back for any update.
Then it will likely be another several days to receive a new SIM card...

The 5p deals I got for me and family members are all in the last week or two coming up with "Bundle Limits" emails when renewing saying "Dear Customer. Your bundle threshold limit has reached. We are unable to renew MSE 1 BF bundle for GBP 4.75".

A bizarre email. None of the SIM cards are anywhere near the end of the 6 months yet. Whilst they have successfully renewed (for now) at the 5p rate, it raises doubts as to whether they are going to renew next month. Is it any wonder people post negative comments about Lycamobile when every month seems to come with some issue or other that means you can never be sure your contract is just going to run smoothly and work (like almost every other MNVO seems to manage without difficulty!!!)
