Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Black Leather Strap Watch £179 @ H samuel
Made hot 16th DecMade hot 16th Dec
Seems like a good price for this beautiful watch!

Nice watch, definitely to my taste but quite honestly would have expected radio controlled timekeeping at the original price point and oddly doesn’t mention if mineral or sapphire glass in specification. Very little info elsewhere on this model other than Goldsmiths used to sell the metal strap version at an original RRP of £379 and it was on a sale offer price of £190 but now a discontinued model

Very nice indeed 🔥

Great saving - heat added

Another nice watch, though I paid the same or less for the auto version.

Cell failure is fairly rare, they usually last at least 10-15 years if not longer. As with anything it's possible to get a bad cell that dies sooner. They take fairly standard rechargeable lithium button cells, albeit sometimes with a soldered tab. With online shopping it's easy to find a replacement; to say the watch becomes junk is lust laziness. I found the part # for the cell in this watch in 30s and then immediately found dozens of examples on ebay and elsewhere.

Great looking watch but will probably suffer from the usual eco-drive issue; power cell fails after x years and by then they don't make the replacement cell any more. The watch immediately becomes junk. Happened to me so I steer clear of eco-drive watches now.

I would prefer the Samurai look than this :) and you get sweeping hand movement too... But heat for the price...

Nice enough watch, but for around £300 there's a lot of choice and I'm not sure this would be mine, I'd spend just a bit more. When they come back in stock I'm getting one of these....hopefully! Helm Watches

Mens Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster bracelet watch, £149.99 at Argos
Made hot 14th DecMade hot 14th Dec
Free click and collect

I think this Promaster is just about the best watch sub £150, the strap is pure quality! I really love the 70s vibe also. £149.99 is the standard price though, on offer for £129.99 sometimes. The seamaster rip-off on the other hand, is pretty horrible imo; too large, fake non rotating bezel, only 100m WR and inferior strap.

Pretty much rrp and only mineral glass. I rate Citizen ecodrive as better than Seiko at this pricepoint, but Ecodrives (including their Chronographs) can regularly be found sub £100, so unless you want a Seamaster homage this is overpriced. You can pick up one of the Invicta prodiver watches sub £70 with Seiko auto movement and more scratch resistant glass if you just want the look.

Great watch. I owned one for a few months but sold just purely to reduce my collection. The lume and bracelet are outstanding on this piece. £149.99 is a good price though I believe this is the usual price for this watch (y)

I have several Citizen watches and these are great value for money. Nice post OP

I'd go for the bracelet version for £5 more; buying a good quality bracelet after the fact is always more expensive than buying the bracelet version to begin with and then accessorising with a good quality NATO strap or similar.

Bought this last year and been delighted with it. The strap is tiny though so it may not be suitable if you have big wrists.

Citizen have terrible customer service. I hope buyers never have to deal with them.

It’s mainly just if you’re in Samuels and want to own a watch that you’ve seen, most watch retailers will require a signature on delivery, this may be a more convenient way of getting a watch in store at online prices without having to wait in. It worked for me, it was just a thought. It may help someone.

Good to know, but what's the advantage when you could have just bought from Watch Shop? Unless of course Watch Shop was a long way away.

All I said was that it’s “fugly” which was my opinion then you took it personally by implying the empty cash wallet implying that I can’t afford luxury watches. Now you’re suggesting that you bought it not for for its appreciation value which is fair enough, I understand that but your earlier post was about the prices of the watches. Anyway my comment was just my own opinion and it was nothing to do with the “brands” rather the aesthetic look.... beauty is in the eye of beholder.

Obviously I can't, because they do deprecate, like MOST things in life. But to be fair, I didn't buy it as an investment, I bought it because I enjoy it, and never suggested it was an appreciating asset. This said, it's still worth around £3,000, and I bought it for less than list price, so as and when I ever sell it i won't have lost a fortune. The reason that some (not all) Rolex models appreciate is due to how Rolex control the supply, not because they are especially good. When I ordered the GMT I had to sign an agreement that I will allow the supplying AD to keep the papers in their safe for the first year, to prevent 'flipping'.

Can you show me that this omega will hold its value or show me an omega over the past 5 years that have held their rrp value? :/

Same with the Omega you gimp.

LOL! you've got a Tag and you think it's class, It's money down the drain with resale values dropping quicker than Jordans panties.

Okay, it may be that the point, is that, the thing you were highlighting wasn't what was meant by my response, in as much as the meaning of your message failed to underestimate the true nature of things. If you are honest and true about the differences in what might be the reality of the situation say for 12/h, you may then be able to consider the detail of the effect on a macro level of these inconsistencies. Is it that the high is different to the low and this is why some people can't be honest about the dishonesty in what they say and want, or maybe it's the confusion of the incoherence in the ramblings that makes the. Or, sometimes it's just the. I'm not sure, but would love your insight. ... Or rather than writing without punctuation and in circumspect ways, we can keep it simple. The distribution of earnings is heavily skewed. Broad stroke judgements that poor people hate rich people and rich people look down on those earning less, is clearly not true and unhelpful. My point was that those most people would class as 'rich' or well off, earning in excess of 100k or even 50k per year are a minority. To take your view to absurdity, how granular do we get? Down to the individual? would you expect someone earning 40k per year to look down on someone earning 39,999.99 per year?? Here you go anyway. Informative..

Bought it today. 1st solar powered watch. Looking forward to not having to replace the battery after accidentally switching the chronograph on and not realising till its too late, lol. Anyway nice addition to my daily workwear collection. Thanks for posting the deal.

One can read between my lines for further income granularities in the spectrum of incomes, such as that behaviour between £12/hr earner and minimum wage, one may see superior and inferior differences, just in case (though I may have interpreted your point incorrectly) you do not know how to interpolate data ranges between my lines of data ranges in your ability to put maths in perspective.

Judging somebody by their income is a shallow and unfulfilling activity. The minute you use income/money as your yardstick in life, you've lost because behind all of it, is the elite controlling your every whim and desire and unknowingly, you've become another puppet on a string for them to play with. It's sad. Media telling us how our lives should look like. Bombarded with stereotypes that you feel obligated to slot into. Then you get muppets like Kanye West trying to make out he's got a real message ("mo - fo" ) to put out there. Biggest walking billboard there is out there, apart from his wife's backside, telling the impressionable world what they should do.

Not supplied by Citizen UK, these are shipped in from Germany and therefore don’t come with the 6 year guarantee you get over here either. Just Amazon being Amazon I guess....

That’s probably because Citizen watches that are designed for the UK market receive signal up to 1500km from German transmitter. This one is only 900km.

I used to prefer autos myself but they just aint accurate enough now after having various quartz watches, they are allright if you dont mind resetting them weekly, I now like to have a watch thats accurate. Of course if you spend the money on a watch with a better movement chances are you will get better timekeeping but I have found low end Seiko and citizen movements can be hit and miss regarding regulation

I have a Citizen radio contolled watch and it gets the signal and keeps perfect time.I live in Northern Ireland.

Bought this with the olive green strap last time they were discounted - great quality watch, worth every penny!

Definitely. It doesn't wear big at all. Depending on the exact size of your wrist you might need an additional hole in the strap though. I'm on the last one!

So only available to those in the South East, plus no specificity of which model(s) to enable true comparison, just a general claim (that you make on each citizen deal I've seen recently). Shame I can't vote your comment cold.
