I got one of these with the exact same specs off Amazon Warehouse for £500 during Black Friday in beautiful condition. Ive not used it loads and loads but have had zero issues with it. I did a clean install of Windows and it's been very impressive.

I had one of these - it was a fantastic laptop EXCEPT the screen had a blue tint. No matter how I adjusted it, the screen looked too cold. YMMV though. I sold it and moved to the HP ENVY 13.3" ba0553sa, which foregoes the convertible business (I never used my Envy as a tablet anyway) and has a slightly slower CPU (i5 10210U) but gains a much higher quality and brighter screen, a discrete nVidia MX350 GPU with 2GB dedicated GDDR5 and 500GB Intel Optane SSD. Its here if anyone is interested: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-envy-13-3-laptop-intel-core-i5-512-gb-ssd-silver-10212903-pdt.html

I've had one since they were released and love it (fortunately got a decent discount and free 3 year warranty but had absolutely no need for it so far despite being my daily driver) - I don't think you can beat it for quality/performance/price/portability. I have historically heard rumours of issues with the hinges on the x360 so that may be one reason for "fixes" on top of usual open box returns; however that would definitely be noticeable almost immediately and certainly within the 1 year standard warranty I would have thought.

Good deal! One of the very few HP I like, good built quality, good specs.

I guess it might just have been a bad batch, or a lot of customer returns? I know a lot still had the remainder of the 1 yr warranty active so immediately assumed it was a recent release, rather than stock that had been hanging around. I'll probably pull the trigger at some point, but it's good to hear from some owners, so cheers for that (y)

Looks like the best price for this laptop, commonly reviewed as the best sub £1,000 laptop available, and comparable to the more expensive Spectre range. Currently £100 off and wit… Read more

Don't want to put anyone off this device but here is my experience. Bought this exact model directly from HP last year. Within the first 6 months of ownership there was issue after issue with the device, it got so bad that I stopped using the device and went back to my old laptop. I have repaired many laptops in my time but this device had such major issues that major parts needed replacing so I didn't want to attempt it myself seeing as the device is still under warranty. I contacted HP for a refund and was flat out refused, then tried for a replacement and again refused. The only thing they offered me was a repair, which I had to accept as they said there was no other choice (they basically said if you don't want it repaired, enjoy your broken device). I spoke to 3 different people at HP and was told a maximum of 10 days to get my laptop back, it ended up being an entire month before getting it back. Finally got the laptop back and they did actually repair some of the issues, however there were other issues that it seems they never even looked at. The laptop still has major issues and to make things worse, there are now further issues such as the entire device creaking when handled, they also made a mess of my AC adaptor, it came back covered in dirt, scratches and dents, it was spotless when I sent it in. Rang them yet again and demanded a refund, this time they finally budged and the lady I spoke to has started the refund process, this was last week and I have still not heard anything back from them. It's a shame because the device is actually quite nice, nice build, its fast and the 2-in-1 functionality is really nice as I'm a graphic designer. I'm not trying to put people off this device, I'm just sharing my experience. Buying from John Lewis should make things a lot easier if you have any issues as their customer service is very good compared to HP themselves.

Thanks for this, I was looking for this info. So this is not the latest Ryzen 7 mobile processor, which is the 4800U?

Doing that at the moment but have the 3 year care package anyway. Bloody annoying! Thank you though!

I agree with everything you've said. I should have really said hp have slower SSDs rather than just use the word slow. yes nvme are fast as it's the fastest connector and currently is the latest tech but hp for some reason have SSDs that in my opinion are slower than what I would expect to see for what you pay for. Here's the pic showing the speeds of my my current HP envy i5 11th Gen, it's much slower than the older yogas I've had. For my day to day use I'm not going to notice any difference at all but anyone who demands or needs faster SSDs I assume will and having spent the last 6 months doing hundreds of hours of all sorts of pc reading, I've found a world of forums where they say they do notice these difference and show all sorts of charts etc From memory the HP Envy 360 4700u I had the SSD was slower than this HP. I no longer have the pic of that saved on my phone. Yep I know all about the Adata scandal, if I remember correctly they changed the parts used for the internals to poorer parts which resulted in lower speeds and ultimately harmed their brand. the manufacturer of this HP Envy's SSD is kioxia which is fine either way given its Toshiba who in my opinion are a top brand.

Pretty great deal for this IMO. The i5 is an excellent processor and in this form factor, can perform better than an i7 11th gen, according to those who have tested. Get your wo… Read more

how do you uninstall the HP bloatware? Is there a list of programs to uninstall or just one?

8 gb ram is absolute minimum nowadays, but at least the gpu gas its own dedicated memory, so it won't be using any if these 8 gigs when gaming. I have this exact model, bought it of ebay for 675 brand new. This is my traveling laptop as it's very light. Good unit for light office task and light gaming. I run witcher 3, rdr2, even cyberpunk but on the lowest possible settings. Make sure you uninstall all hp bloatware as at the beginning the battery seemed very poor, but after "debloating it" behaves as expected. One more thing, gpu - mx450 is the low wattage version, 12w.

Both, TCB have told me they've been investigating (with nudges monthly) since last September.

Has it tracked? Have you raised a claim? TCB actually seems to investigate properly.

I've never had a cashback rejected for using a code. Currys are the laziest with doing their checks too. I even had cashback paid once for a laptop I returned lol. It's always a risk with cashback, so wouldn't buy if you weren't willing to take a risk on it (y)

Had a look at that following your last comment but although the processor is faster it has half the ssd no dedicated GPU and reviews of poor build quality have put me off and made me believe the one I have here for my use case is a better bet and again am hoping the optain will make the processor feel a lot faster, again though if something comes up I will keep looking am happy to cancel the order or send it back if there is a better deal at this price or lower, there are lots of options at £700 and beyond but that’s not my budget

No worries, I know timing and budgets are everything. Have you thought about the Zenbook ryzen 4500u that was on here for just over £500?

Thanks for your comment, The benefits of the one you listed seem to be newer i5 processor mx 450 vs mx 350 and touchscreen but without the 32gb optane card. Would have loved this one I listed for the £584 you mentioned but alas need one now and that’s the best I could find. Was stretched to full budget for this one so can’t really justify the extra £100 for those slight improvements, for me the touchscreen is not relevant, the 350 vs 450 does not matter too much as I play very few games and am not buying this for gaming. The i5 difference I don’t think I personally will notice and am hoping the optane keeps the speeds high for day to day stuff. I may well receive this try and and send it back However if it’s not up to spec. As I say I compared this deal to the ones I mentioned in my first comment that were voted hot but this seems to be voted cold would be interested to see the options of difference as to why

If you don't mind me saying return it and get the the next one up I mention in this deal here. hotukdeals.com/vouchers/10-off-selected-hp-envy-and-spectre-laptops-using-code-laptop10-3728584?utm_source=mappshare&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=3728584&utm_campaign=2021-05-29 It's £719 and is far more future proof as not been out long. Also 15% Topcashback. Yours was a cracking deal when it was on at £649 which it has been for months. So you would have got it for £584 a few days ago using the code. Think Currys have increased their price on this as they plan on selling it for £599 but they can't say £100 off unless it's been at the higher price for at least 28 days. Remember the i5 10th is coming on 2 years old now.

The comparison for me was the hot voted acer swift for £550 I felt the optane and the speakers were worth the extra plus the better build quality of this Also when compared to the matebook 13 hot voted at £609, this has a better dedicated gfx card the 350 vs the 250 although this screen is not 2k, for me at 13 inches as they both are that’s not an issue

10% off selected HP Envy and Spectre laptops using code@ Currys PC World

Works on pretty much all the Envy and Spectre range. I can't see it works on the i7 10th Gen Intel Envy range but does so on the i5 10th Gen starting at £649. Didn't check the Sp… Read more

Good deal on the HP Envy if cashbacks dont have any issues, however to avoid dissapointment and with an even better price Ebay Currys/PC World have the i5 13.3inch HP Envy New with a slightly damaged box for £516 (£60 ebay discount applied) 1 left now.

If you have a look at deals on here so many have said it gets paid. Mine has tracked at £100 however you're right to be cautious so when buying I treat it as a nice bonus rather than a given. So far nothing declined yet. Also bear in mind the code is an official Currys code on the actual laptop page and heavily advertised by Currys rather than say the generic 10% voucher cloud code that was given via voucher cloud earlier on in the year. Regarding 8gb it all comes down to personal use. People need to be careful and not to buy into the 16gb hype unless they definitely know that's what they need. Over the last 6 months I've used to 16gb machines extensively and three 8gb machines all new with ryzen 5 or 7 processors or Intel 9 to 11th Gen. For my use I literally could not tell any difference. Whether that's logged into work or having so many internet tabs open or using ms office. I'm a standard generic user and I can't see that changing much so I know 8gb will last me years to come. For now I've settled on the hp Envy 13 with the i5 11th Gen with 8gb. The only reason I'd change it in a year or so is the kid in me is back into messing around with laptops like I did with pcs over 20 years ago. Also as an example of 8gb Vs 16gb, I'd rather have an 8gb Envy with inferior processor than say a better processor on a 16gb pavillion for the same price. Reason being build quality, screen, user experience, weight, keyboard well all be much much better on the Envy. Also on the ram issue I've got a 12 year old Sony Vaio that I have for my mother. I've put an 240gb SSD in and fresh Windows install. It only has 3gb DDR3 ram yet for my day to day needs it's great. Windows 10, intent, ms office all work smoothly and fast Boots up almost as fast as my hp envy and everything apart from its weight and screen is much better than the Envy. Great keyboard, the trackpad it's hard to describe it is part of the keyboard chassis so there's no break or gap is that makes sense and therefore feels far far superior to modern track pads. My next project is my old Sony which was back in the day one of the top laptops with what they called double lamp technology. It's got a blue screen of death but I've seen a few YouTube fixes and if they work well put an SSD in that. The keyboard on that is a joy to use.

TCB states: What will stop me getting cashback? Cashback and a code will not be eligible for purchases So I'd be surprised if you can get the 10% Currys, plus 15% TCB off, but killer deal if you can, especially on the 16GB Envy :) Personally I wouldn't buy an 8GB machine these days, not very future-proof (as much as you can future-proof technology), since the RAM is soldered in these.

It's not guaranteed but a lot of people over the years have commented on Hotukdeals that they've had their cashback come through without any issues even though they used discount codes etc.

Can the 15% from top cash back be used together withcurry’s own 10% off?
