When I did it, I enrolled on day 29 (had to enrol within 30 days), then put my claim in on day 31 (had to be 30-60 days after purchase). I got an extra two months by enrolling with a couple of codes too. Cashback was a bit slow to come through, but received it in the end. Still haven’t started using Instant Ink, as I haven’t used up the cartridge that came in the printer yet, but my account and the first set of cartridges are ready to go when I do. The trial only starts once I change the cartridges over :{

HellriderUKDeals69

I have enrolled straightaway. Edit: My printer was the HP 3831 so it could well be different.

andersonchenghy

I can only claim after 14days? Seems a weird policy

andersonchenghy

cheers :)

HellriderUKDeals69

It doesn't matter as your Instant Ink plan starts only when you install the replacement cartridges. You might as well sign up now as you would have the replacements ready when your current set of inks are used up.

Its has been extended until the end of October for Cashback. Also Currys have the white one at the moment that includes 5 months free, then a £32 gift card to pay for additional months, a total of 9 months if you are on the 300 page plan. Its £89.99 at the moment, with the £30 cashback, and further free months, makes its a better deal than this, unless you really want the black one. https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/printers-scanners-and-ink/printers/hp-envy-photo-7134-all-in-one-wireless-inkjet-printer-10168013-pdt.html

It looks like the cash back offer has expired (I think) https://claims.hpcashback.com/gb/en/pages/instantink/qualifying-retailers although they often extend them....

That cinebench issue could be many different things. Again new platform will have these issues. If the performance was their before It will either be windows Or something else. Be Happy with the better multicore, and a great igpu.

popoyaya

That driver seems to have solved the crashing video problem, but OpenGL performance has been reduced by 30% according to CineBench. Sadly the driver situation still seems to be a mess. Never had anything like this with Intel or Nvidia drivers. Shame as this is an otherwise excellent machine.

befr33man

Hi, Had them as well, me and Mrs, same ghost issues solved by simply uninstall ing the mouse/touch pad driver. Had the i7 ones, 1tb SSD, great machines, battery still strong after one year plus

kaisersolo

If that doesn't work try www.reddit.com/r/amd or www.reddit.com/r/amdhelp

popoyaya

Cheers, will try that. Wasn't coming up for this particular model but should work as same APU.

The problem with the instant ink is if the printer dies you can't switch the printer on the account. You have to start again.

shubhraj456

If you take a free trial, HP don't allow u to change the plan to free 15 pages. You have to sign up straight away for this. Read terms and conditions, it's worth reading if you want free 15 pages per month. Read point 17 of terms and conditions; it covers everything regarding free printing.

SUMMONER

I administer a few HP Instantink accounts for customers who own Officejet Pro printers. When I log into their accounts all I can do is switch between 'occasional' (50 pages), 'moderate' (100 pages) and 'frequent' (300 pages), there is no free option that one could select.

Genuine HP 62 cartridge bundle up to 200 pages black and 165 pages tri-colour: £20.92 Genuine HP 62XL cartridge bundle up to 600 pages black and 415 pages tri-colour: £55.18 Generic 62XL cartridge bundle up to 600 pages black and 415 pages tri-colour: £28.88 Here is a set of generic XL cartridges for just £16.95 that should work, however it only states Envy 5640 as a compatible printer There are also loads of generics available on Ebay, XL black £9.95 and XL Tri-colour £10.85 If you do buy this printer take out a HP Instant Ink subscription, there really is no sense in buying ink cartridges for it.

these and the spectre to do look pretty amazing in the flesh but the quality issue put me off.

ahmedsalo

I have this one i got it cheaper from amazon 3 month ago for 650 GBP only The laptop is amazing I'm so happy with it well worth the money the only issue i found sometimes when it wakes up from sleep mode the touch screen doesn't work. hope hp will solve this issue

plewis00

Is that a VRM that's gone up? I'm using an HP Elitebook 820 G3 at the moment to type this on and it's literally one of the best machines I've ever had - I think I only paid £125 ex. VAT for it but it's thin (but not stupidly thin sacrificing thermals and build), is very rigid with no chassis flex, modular and upgradeable, keyboard is excellent and touchpad has dedicated buttons. HP does leave a lot to be desired on their consumer models. I have an Envy 13 which is ridiculously thin but it feels flimsy and I think it's too thin for the hardware it has fitted and I expect issues down the line, but it was cheap.

If you like the design then the Intel Core i5 8th gen with MX150 graphics. Or any of the Acer Swifts with Intel and discrete graphics posted recently. To be honest, I don’t think the design of this HP is that good, it’s metal but it feels a bit cheap and flimsy (eg the opposite of a MacBook or Dell XPS).

Amosuk

Any recommendations on an alternative?

neilr

HP still have the 3 yer care package, for the same price

tubbyhubby

I bought 2 of these a few months ago and they are a great piece of kit if the crap is stripped out direct from HP with a 3 year warranty they were £719 inc vat and delivery.

plewis00

I had one of these. Nice machines but not worth £800, had got mine ex-demo for £500 few months back and that was probably about the right price. Mobile Ryzen has a lot of promise but it’s not there yet and is very sluggish under certain circumstances when it shouldn’t be.

I'm really happy with my Instant Ink and my HP printer in general. You can get extra free Instant Ink months if you use a code from an existing user + some promotional codes that are available "out there". I don't think I can post them here though.

How else would you expect they get the ink to you? The ink levels are monitored and replacements are ordered and posted 1st class way before levels are critical. I've had mine a few months and it's worked seamlessly.

Cheaper on ebay and some sellers sell with Ink

ventura10

In product details it says: "Please Note: No Ink Cartridges. Only Power Cable is included" It is cold for me!

hukdmm

Does this work with Instant Ink?

regcar

Suggest you check price of cartridges, before even thinking of an HP. Not all Epsons work with compatibles now. Suggest you check with compatible ink suppliers before buying. I use compatibles on new A3 Epson and not noticed difference, apart from how little ink the original Epson cartriges contained. If you are planning for a few years use with moderate usage of photos and maps etc. you will save hundreds using compatibles in the long term. Half the problem with any printer is getting everything right first time. Cheaper to print drafts on plain paper until they look Ok. Even then not 100% success first time. Forget nonsense about fading. All photos will fade in sunlight, and cheaper to reprint occasionally. You will NEVER match quality of a professional using thousands of pounds worth of kit, and charging about £25 per picture.

sug7

Manual does mean feeding the paper back in, it’s a little tough on a normal one as it will immediately print 1,2,3,4... etc.. on available paper. A manual one will print 1,3,5,7 so you can slot the paper back in to print 2,4,6,8 if that makes sense?

I read somewhere it's £1 per 10 pages or something. I guess I'll take advantage of the free trial and see what my usage is after 4 months. But as you say £1.99 isn't anything to worry about and it does give you a good allowance especially with the odd photo here and there.
