Also, battery life is nowhere near 12 hours!

jaypee24

I bought this last year for £999 direct from HP with free 3 yr care pack. However my version has 128gb ssd and 1tb HDD and also got the stylus with it. Be warned of the hinges!! Mine had very light use but after 14 months the hinge broke through the front bezel! This is due to poor design where the hinge has been attached to plastic inside the screen/bezel and eventually breaks as it's plastic. Issue was fixed due to being under warranty (and fixed well!). That being said, this is a beautiful laptop but look up LEFT HINGE DAMAGE on YouTube or Google. Many people have had the same issue and often been fobbed off by HP.

m4rts

I had the one on pre-order from Amazon too, but having spoken to them yesterday it doesn't look like they'll actually be 'getting stock'. Agree that there are so many good offers on at the moment but can't decide on whether to go for this or not. Does anyone know if the HP envy range build quality is better than most others on the market? Also any comment on the 3 cell battery?

DealSeeka

Darn, it doesn't come with the digital stylus! I am still waiting on the Amazon purchase a month ago! Given that this is available in other stores like Microsoft, I'll hold my breath a bit longer till I drown...

Great deal, can't justify the extra 150 personally for the i7 considering the 8th gen i5s run like 7th gen i7 but still a fantastic deal

Jimjams42

Had ran out by the time I got to it but I managed to nab one of the i7 / 16gb RAM / 512gb SSD units for a smidge over £800. Delighted with that, thanks for alerting.

Slimey and sneaky for a big name to play silly tactics

paul1109

Yep the 'proper' device at the £849 price with MX150 and Touchscreen doesn't accept the discount code. https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=4EW09EA&opt=ABU&mastersku=4EW09EA&masteropt=ABU&sel=NTB& Very naughty HP....

Hellodave.

I was going to say the same. I couldn't understand why the GPU and non GPU i5 models were roughly the same price last week. Now I know. Pretty sure this knobbled model doesn't have a touchscreen either. Sneaky HP, sneaky!

paul1109

Yep no mention of MX150 in the spec. I have the i7, 16gb, 512gb SSD model with MX150 but cost a fair bit more than this. It is a lovely laptop though apart from the crappy fingerprint reader being not very accessible or reliable.

Jimjams42

BE CAREFUL. It seems like HP being a bit naughty. That RRP is for the model that usually has the MX150 graphics card, whereas this model does not appear to have the MX150. All they've done is remove the GPU and knocked some money off. Sneaky.

Think got a faulty cartridge

pirate1

Mine is ok. I put both set up cartridges in and all good

fredstar786

Anyone have issues. Mines colour printing not working keeps saying use setup cartridge which I am.

Chaykin

Note that to use the free months you have to register for Instant Ink within 7 days of setting up your printer. (which basically means from when you connect your printer to your wifi/internet) See point 6 here -> https://i.imgur.com/kIwpgdw.jpg If you register later you lose free months. The trial free months are not for 15 pages. You can have the highest 300 pages per month for free (only makes sense to choose that one for free months) and reduce the plan to a lower one before free months end or cancel altogether and go back to buying ink cartridges in shops.

pirate1

I haven't set my trial up yet, printer seems ok, very easy to connect to devices via WiFi. I think the trial is for 15 pages a month with no roll over pages but I'm still using the cartridges that came with it

It is ENVY X360 15-CN0001NA Part no. 3ZV03EA#ABU https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/3ZV03EAABU-HP-ENVY-x360-15-cn0001na_2356557.html So yeah it seems to be just a normal price pretty much.

madmikeyb83

Don't get me wrong, I know this can happen (people missing the point of good deals) but I think part of the problem with this deal is that the specs aren't clear. For example if you go on the HP website, and I have been, I'm unable to match this up perfectly with a model that is available on there. The closest I've come is one that happens to have 16Gb ram instead of 8Gb and is £200 more expensive. Having said all that, I'm all for voting hot if this is a good deal, but based on the specs (good parts or not) it doesn't seem a particularly outstanding deal unless, as i say, I'm missing something from the specs.

Just had mine delivered for £49. Story of my ‘HUKD’ life. Buy now think later... I’ve missed two main factors, it’s a photo printer, we never print photos and secondly the £30 cash back is not on the printer but on the ink trial. Now considering returning it

how did you know if they are instant ink ready ?

hippojay

Got mine the other day, but the cartridges it came with were “instant ink ready” which means that as soon as I started using them they registered against me account. I assume that I shouldn’t have signed up to instant ink immediately, but didn’t want to somehow lose the 4 months by selecting the normal cartridge option. I managed to extend a fair few month with the free code and some referrals, so it’s all worked out. The printer seems pretty big compared to me old one, but quality is better - scanning is also pretty seamless on Windows 10. Good for £29!

blabbity

When I did it, I enrolled on day 29 (had to enrol within 30 days), then put my claim in on day 31 (had to be 30-60 days after purchase). I got an extra two months by enrolling with a couple of codes too. Cashback was a bit slow to come through, but received it in the end. Still haven’t started using Instant Ink, as I haven’t used up the cartridge that came in the printer yet, but my account and the first set of cartridges are ready to go when I do. The trial only starts once I change the cartridges over :{

I have enrolled straightaway. Edit: My printer was the HP 3831 so it could well be different.

That driver seems to have solved the crashing video problem, but OpenGL performance has been reduced by 30% according to CineBench. Sadly the driver situation still seems to be a mess. Never had anything like this with Intel or Nvidia drivers. Shame as this is an otherwise excellent machine.

shubhraj456

If you take a free trial, HP don't allow u to change the plan to free 15 pages. You have to sign up straight away for this. Read terms and conditions, it's worth reading if you want free 15 pages per month. Read point 17 of terms and conditions; it covers everything regarding free printing.
