Any good suggestion for glossy laminate ?
it is usually, although good 8mm is perfectly ok for household, 12 and above almost commercial grade, albeit depends where you get it from Wickes own brand stuff is usually pretty crap.. ( i say this from the experience of buying lots of wickes stuff lots of times...)
Only 8mm think? I thought thicker is better?
More plastic into the environment :-(

Thank you ordered

Yeah, Studio has a variant VAX W86-DPE for £59.99+£5 delivery. Not sure what the difference is and can't put link in as they are banned. Was thinking of it, but Studio have that stupid credit system - you can't just buy it outright. This Vax W86-DP-B model is also available at AO.com for same price - £95 https://ao.com/product/w86dpb-vax-dual-power-carpet-cleaner-grey-34597-91.aspx
Bought this in June for £89 from Amazon. Finally used it proper last weekend and very impressed with the results - better than I thought they would be. Spot cleaned stains first then two washes and one rinse. Drying takes a while but used a blower from the kids bouncy castle blasting air under the carpet and that really helped. Good bit of kit, easy to assemble, long cord. Heated.
Very similar model to the one I purchased last month for £31 cheaper (Delivered) at Studio Vax W86-DP-E Dual Power Carpet Cleaner
Fabulous price (y)
Just about to move into a fully carpeted place with a new puppy so ordered in preparation! (horror)

Ralph888 - your local company is most likely Hillarys! They employ agents throughout the country and advertise them in local papers under different names. Many of the bigger companies and also shops source from Hillarys factory too.
Yep.. we get the chance to compare
Nope.. just small samples

I’ve just been and got over £1000 worth of flooring (40 packs) for just over £500 so I’m thrilled! Also delivery (even on that much) is only £7.95 so well worth it!
Reviews say flooring is fine on most
Wickes flooring is not good. Avoid.
It’s not German made so avoid
I picked up this stuff from there for my cabin when it was previously in a sale https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Aspiran-Oak-Laminate-Flooring---2-22m2-Pack/p/215603 Paid £16.58 per pack and was impressed, cut well and fitted easily :)
Just as well many campsites are in stunning locations then. I've had posh hotel holidays in the past but you'd be hard-pressed to get me to give up camping these days.
how about this for a view then? This is where we camped last week. There were dolphins playing in the bay earlier
1k for a TENT? What next? Women drivers??!!!
Look up ardroil beach, that's were I am right now.
I'm Scottish, and work with homeless people in Glasgow, and I can assure you none of them are cutting about the city centre with one of these.
Tried to order; this came up Add on items can be delivered as part of any Standard or Express Delivery order as long as your basket value is £20.00 or more. Find out more
Be warned we are alcoholics....classy
I'll drink to that
Thanks for the info
Although denser it might only be medium fibre particleboard rather than high density fibreboard, the quality and thickness of the laminate layer and 'quality' (if you can call any manufactured wood quality lol) of the particleboard is the real test in durability AC1-AC4 all are direct pressure laminated, whereas AC5 and above are high pressure laminated, more durable but have a rougher textured surface considered to be a little too abrasive for domestic households. The thickness will feel nice under foot though and can help sound reduction, there again so can good quality underlay. :) More info, in somewhat bad English but informative nonetheless on the 'myth' that 12mm must be better than 10mm or 8mm [here]
Staff discount 20% if you know anyone who works there or Travis Perkins.
Costco are doing laminate flooring I think in 3 different colours, its 14mm thick which includes 2mm foam underlay. I paid just under £18 per box which is 1.16 m² per pack. I know its more expensive but loos and feels good "Made to last, the Providence is rated Abrasion Class 4 (AC4) and is backed by the manufacturer's 35 year residential warranty and a 10 year light commerical warranty. You can ensure your floors will look new for years to come with the Providence laminate flooring"
You are lucky. Apparently the warranty only covers the motor. Any other defects is wear and tear.
Thanks will take a look
Vax products are rubbish cheap plastic avoid
Bissell is the best brand for carpet washing.
Thank you, I was tempted looking at the price but think I’ll hold on for something better
Thank you very much for your reply. I even contacted Argos to see if it was a type-o. And the fools confirmed it wasn't!!!! I just hope now my local store still has the only 1 they have left still in stock!
Packed weight is around 15kg. Just bought one for this weekend.
Can anybody who owns one of these confirm that it weights 32kg? I have seen similar tents that weigh less than 8kg so I cannot understand how this one is over 4 times heavier. Unless it is a type-o. I would have ordered one already, but the weight is putting me off.
Must be some thick poles for 30 kg.
They have quite a few others reduced down have a look on Argos you might find what you are looking for..........
Don't waste your money on this one... Buy higher version of carpet washer from back....
Used many vax machines. Build quality is poor. Performance is ok. Won’t be rushing to buy another vax machine
Agree one with a powered brush does a lot better job at a fraction of the time
Looks very similar to the one I have - no powered brushes so you do all the hard work; it's basically a soap dispenser and vacuum only. It does work but slowly and wih a lot of effort.
I would avoid tbh. I have one (or at least one very similar) and it isn't great. It doesn't get good suction on carpets - I need to step on the top to force the head on to the carpet to suck up the fluid. A lot of the liquid is held in the front channel - as soon as you switch off or lose the suction, it runs back out on to the carpet. Basically, it sort of does what you want, but it is hard work and you never feel like it is really cleaning.
Just came (flirt) Quicker than I thought. Good old carparts4less :) Anyone else had theirs? Thought would take weeks hearing all the "stories" on here :) It's got sticky Velcro on the back. It looks quite strong. Little small though but big enough for several bottles etc. I would say the price of this deal is about right and would be prepared to pay much more for it. I need to stop being on here & buying stuff :)
I'm afraid I cannot post a link to the Lidl one as I bought it in store when they have their "everything for cars" week or something. The Sakura one for £4ish was a Prime deal if my memory serves me right.
Can you link the lidl one? I bet that was prime?
Bought this one the other day for about £4 off Amazon. It's definitely not large, and I ended up using more useful Lidl version.
Finally sorted - got to buy the online membership first, then place another order for the rug doctor applying the code. Bought, thanks OP.
okay, thank you 8)
Thank you :) What is RD? Sorry for the stupid question. (ninja)
Follow my previous comment. Took a chance on purchasing online subscription only without code and then went on to get RD with SUMMER15 added. Heat applied. Thx
Cheers bought 15 packs (y)
Yep a lot better used to use 8mm but after trying 12mm would not go back found it was easier to lay down as Well
Nah. 12mm laminate feels more rigid, doesn't bend, doesn't make hollow sound, and feels much more "expensive" Pretty much the same as wooden floor. Thi one is usually about £10/m2 https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Venezia-Oak-Laminate-Flooring---1-48m2-Pack/p/131874
8mm thickness sorry will give this a miss wont touch anything under 12 these days
how very diplomatic ....... you can say crap lol :)
Had a couple of samples delivered and not that impressed with the quality... get what you pay for I suppose
And you like it? It’s a budget twist and only a 6mm pile. It looks pretty poor quality to me. The Boston carpet is much thicker but obviously much more expensive and these don’t sell it, it’s at carpet right.
so you have belton? Boston is a carpetright carpet
They never where good in terms of price unless on a rare occasion they have a roll end end of line that they need shifting always been about 50% 150% more than the cheaper store's the smaller ones and online shops. they really rip u off with the underlays and grippers and been like this always.
In my experience they don't price match and I have used them a lot. They used to be good but not now.
In my experience they do price match other retailers and online sites. Worth asking if you wanted to deal with them.
Tip for anyone looking for budget flooring, try searching for "factory reject", "Factory seconds" or "recycled" carpet tiles. You can do a whole room for under £10. Some of them are thick and look like real carpeting when done. The tiles usually have flaws tho, which is why they're sold so cheap.
Reckon these may be a retail park vacancy soon. Way overpriced compared to little local carpet specialists in my experience. However, that said foc samples if you're looking is convenient and then buy elsewhere!
