total war warhammer steam game - 9.49

This says shogun 2 and rome 2 are the easiest... I have them both in a humble bundle! <maybe> they improved the UI in the second games to get people on board? https://steamcommunity.com/app/34330/discussions/0/1620599015889948917/

I find the whole concept of super warriors a bit disconcerting as would like to use the rock paper scissor basics of say infantry and artillery and cavalry

Thanks! I guess I am looking for one easy to play with a good tutorial to get me into it. I vaguely remember renting it on pc ageeeeeesss ago and did not have a manual only the cd rom and I got a bit lost!

It depends what you're looking for. Fantasy or Historical. I'm also pretty new to the franchise, did my research before deciding which on to play first. Ended up buying Total War: Rome 2 because i'm a big fan of the time period, but there is a learning curve. Also, Rome 2 was not well received by the fans on launch, because of bugs and been stripped of certain features. The game is over 5 years old now, so you can probably get the game and all dlc for cheap, when it's on sale. Rome 2 is actually still getting dlc. Shogun 2, Medieval 2 and the first Rome game, are all highly regarded. Depends on how far in the series you want to go back to. Maybe check out some videos on youtube because it can be a bit overwhelming at first. They're all on sale at the Gameplanet, but it's a flash sale and it'll expire by tomorrow morning.

Oh tempted.. Never got into total war games. This could be a great entry? I do have some on humble bundle but was not sure where to start!

Looks very true to the old school warhammer stuff this, it's turn based right? Any other warhammer turn based games out there? I'd love to be able to play a tabletop battle of Warhammer Fantasy, without the need for all the painting and space, oh and friends :(

Only recently released and appears to be a misprice considering Black Library products are rarely ever discounted, especially this early after release.

Yeah totally. That would be awesome if it is, I’ve always been put off by the £10 for an hour long story pricing.

I’d say in comparison it kind makes sense when stuff like Horus Heresy is £11.95 and are around 12 hours long It could be a new pricing for them

The previous one released last year is £5.95 and only recently reduced, it’s also an hour long. Pretty sure this is a pricing mistake or unannounced offer.

I’d say it’s legit price it’s only 1hr 5 mins

Might you be CPU bound? Dunno what the game is like on CPU but Ivy Bridge is getting on a bit now... What res you playing at?

I5 skylake 16gb ddr4 Ssd 1060 6gb MSI twin frozr Maxed and plays smoothly. Although I still play at 1080 res.

Really? I'm still on a 980Ti and had no issues, although can't remember the FPS I was pulling. Running on a 2560x1080 monitor too. Seemed smooth for me.

I really struggled to get the 5 hour demo / trial to play smoothly on a 1070ti / SSD / Ivy Bridge 3.4Ghz Quad / 16 GB DDR3. No matter how much I backed off in the graphics settings I still had the common stutter problem. Played better on the XB1X ... sad times lol.

At least with Gog the games are DRM free.

Has already been announced at e3..

I find Game Pass super fast to load on my sexbox 1S. Admittedly I ignore how long loading takes and just play other things until the load is done, but man it's impressive hella fast. I use a Buffalo 7,200rpm HDD and Virgin broadband. Happy as Larry. If your Game Pass loading is slow the fault probably lies with your broadband and/or storage media, no?

Just seems like you are going out of your way to slag off a game that has been universally appreciated by those who have played it.

It's to try balance out the sheer number of people who for whatever reason think its one of the best games ever made. It's ok but would rate is as one of the poorest fps/movies I've ever played. It's laughably bad.

You seem to slag off wolfenstein everytime a deal is posted. Personal gripe?

That comment is enough to put me off this playing game, Thanks

Warhammer Total War Steam 9.99
Found 1st JunFound 1st Jun
Warhammer Total war Steam £9.99, great price, down from 13.99 on previous sell. Lowest price on steam I think ever.

Went to grab it a couple hours ago and it just went back up to full price...damnit, guess I'l have to wait :(

Great game, fantastic variety in races and the Warhammer license is perfect for Total War. I'd always recommend the sequel over this as it fixed some of the issues the original had plus Mortal Empires, but this is a good price for this.

I couldn’t never get into total war until the war hammer ones. Sunk many hours into this and the second one.

Ha. I have some total war bundle from humble not opened... And arma 2.... Company of heroes 2... Civ v... i look forward ro retirement!

I am still addicted to "Rome Total War". Apparently I have 851 hours played according to Steam. I highly recommend that you take the plunge and give it a go. I can't tell you how good Wahammer Total War is though as I still haven't gotten around to playing it... Along with another 160+ games in my Steam library.

If you have both of them, then it essentially makes the game twice as large with the mortal empires campaign. Not to mention the extended mod support (due to having two games in the series, people just update the mods from the original and just carry them over) The races in the sequel are also great additions. Very varied.

I preferred the first one tbh - it does build upon it but I didn't like the vortex game mechanic - I prefer just to conquer everyone

How does this compare to the first one?

Agreed on the 40k bit, definitely. Guess the nearest you'll get to that at the moment is Dawn of War series but realise its more C&C. 40k armies on this scale would be amazing

Cheers for this, bought the two larger sets direct for a total of £28 :) Decided I wasn't a huge fan of playing the game but really enjoying making and painting the things, and I'm still only just starting off, so this will definitely keep me busy and add some paints to my small collection too, so thanks again!

Free postage on >£40 too. I was tempted to buy some to flog on ebay..... but the margins aren't quite there.

Sorry, that was a stupid question. I just assumed that all their Warhammer-branded products have been discounted, but was not aware that those five figurines are all their W40K-branded products

This is the lot. They are older sets from the kid 90s that have been 're released as a "teach kids to paint" The space marine landspeeder and bike are the same models that you buy from GW themselves though so they are a brilliant buy imo I bought from their actual online store on their own website. So I only had to pay postage once

is it only Warhammer 40k or do they have Warhammer FB on sale too?
