Update for each game, prob around 10gb each game knowing them, will have to wait for release, no codes

mattbat

Is it a code or just like a big patch???

ZX10R_Rider

Wish I hadn't finished all three again recently!

Derpsauce

A small amount is on the cart, rest of it is download, meaning you'll get the starting part of all 3 on the cart, but rest has to be downloaded

Derek_Dymond

Are the bioshock games on the cart or a download code?

My favourite trilogy of games 👌

tsd1984

Playing through these on and off in the evening during lockdown. They’re such well made games. I’d only played Bioshock at the time but the sequels and many add-ons are surprisingly good too. The remaster of the first game was terrific, it looks great in 4K. A bargain for literally hours of top notch entertainment.

Hawkandr0

Separate versions I think unfortunately

A day before release and still no reviews or proper gameplay footage. Not a good sign. Also it is a 31gb download!

PaulHM

The truth is that the switch is not much faster than the Xbox 360 and so is suited to games written for older hardware.

AmFearLiathMòr

You're getting ripped off if you buy it on Switch. It really doesn't require a particularly powerful PC to run. Even an older laptop with onboard graphics will run it fine.

Aw cool, thanks. I'm hoping the wee man and myself get into it, with one of us playing and the other spectating. I usually let him defeat bosses, whilst I get to do levels/puzzles a.k.a. "the boring stuff".

buckshot

Watch a review of the first only! You really do not want to spoil the events that lead to the other 2! I'm genuinely envious of you getting to experience these games fresh, some great stories and the best plot twists. If you like FPS that take a bit more thought you'll love them I hope.

jsty3105

I could be wrong. At the moment, the wording suggests that only part of the game is on the cart. Other similar releases (final fantasy x2) only had single use codes I think

yomanation

Surely you are entitled to the download if you have the cartridge though, right? Or is it a one-time use code?

jsty3105

Not much an option for this release I'm afraid. Most of the game isn't on the card. "The physical game contains an 16GB cartridge including the opening acts of BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition. Later game contents and add-ons will need to be downloaded."

Scottc123

Specs and OS would be helpful. I had no issues on Win 10 for Bioshock 1 and 2 remastered. Normally issues and fixes such as this are documented on PC gaming wiki. e.g. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/BioShock_Remastered

mistachicken

Be warned Bioshock 1 +2 remasters will not start on some machines. I know , sad times.bith refuse to start at all on my PC. Mr Google has lots of threads for you on this. There is no real fix.

Kushan

Great price for these games. Just as an FYI though, it's available in this Bundle with a bunch of other games for just over £12: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/2ks-game-together?hmb_source=humble_home&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=mosaic_section_1_layout_index_1_layout_type_twos_tile_index_2_c_2ksgametogether_bundle Obviously if the games are no interest (other than bioshock) then this post is better, but always worth knowing.

Yes, it's from the 2016 remastered "Collection". Anyone with the original on Steam should have got this for free.

jeferamend

My understanding is that remastered is exactly same game with better graphics/sound. So basically BioShock 1 without any DLC or extended features.

jeferamend

Great game indeed, I just finished it as well. But I won't go again, moving onto bio 2 😁

mattster

Great game. Just finished it on the PS4 and playing it again straight away to get a different ending

When they say “remaster” do they mean that this is from the Bioshock collection or that they totally revamped it?

To those who say this game was not as good as the others; I would rather find games as good as this nowadays and be able to moan about it than the current offerings. I'm sure there is the odd good game out there but how often do we see one?

MrPickled

I'd go for the collection at £7.34. I would agree this is the weakest of the 3, in the collection you also get all the DLC and remastered versions of all 3 games. Heat added though, if this is the one you are missing worth it for under 2 quid. https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/1543-buy-key-steam-bioshock-the-collection/

DwarfKingLuke

Vastly under rated. Way better game play than Bioshock 1 or Infinite. Minerva's Den is the best part of the franchise.

sneakyduck

true, but also look to how the eShop gold coin redemption works for retail games. that can be redeemed once and only once per physical cartridge, so they've got similar code which could be repurposed. I hope not, I'm just saying they could is all.

Czubaka

Not necessarily. I have Banner Saga on Switch. 2 games are on cartridge and the third one gets downloaded automatically after the cartridge is inserted, no codes whatsoever. We won't know until release cus it depends on the publisher. I think I'll give this one a miss, I only played Infinite but will definitely give the first 2 a go on PS4 as this came as PS+ games recently.

Phade

I want to get this game. But with how badly many ports are being handled on the switch. Going to hang fire and see what the reviews say. Amazing games.

HXCMARC

I get that. I'm happy with it rather than paying extra for the bigger carts. I don't perobsallly plan on keeping them for the long time so my use is fine. The whole drm thing is a wider issue in the long run and I accept it is a problem.

Biddy2

Yes because you can play that single full game again once servers are taken down. What’s the point of having 1/3 of each game that can’t be used again once the servers go down? This is a waste of plastic. It’s effectively DRM. Once the servers die, so does your access if you don’t have it downloaded. At least with the Spyro method, you have one game left over. Spyro actually has lifetime access to the second hand market due to actually containing a game on the disc/cart. This doesn’t. Depends whether you’re looking to keep hold of it I guess. If it’s a play and sell situation then it doesn’t matter. :) You can sell it on as long as the servers are still active. :) Spyro includes the first game and then you do a game update to access the rest. This offers a part of each game but you have to download the rest of the games to play it.

Sweetchinmusic

Days Gone was on the sale originally, went to buy it today and the price is 54.99! Have I missed the chance

copperspock

You could also just set up a new account to buy the games on, then set the console as the primary for that account - this allows other accounts on the console to access any games bought on that account. So he could play the games on his standard account as normal (trophies and all).

Illusionary

No problem :) See my edit though for a couple of caveats.
