It never is I'm afraid. So unfair for families with school going aged kids, especially single parents or lower income families. Not everyone can afford these extortionate rates. Quite disappointing actually.
Yes they are, we get a Passholder discount and it is almost double the price at weekends and school hols even with that, hence why we have only done it once lol, it’s a lovely stay though, worth the experience
Arrive on the first day for park opening, you can either leave bags in the car or with hotel reception and enjoy the park all day, check in is from 3pm so if the park closes later (it’s never earlier than 5pm) you can check in later if you want to. You get your stay overnight then need to be out by 10am, out of the hotel though, not the park so again it’s bags in car early or just leave them with reception, keep in mind you will want to enjoy your breakfast and early park entry so getting bags out early is a good idea. We stayed in March and took our bags back to the car by 8am, had breakfast and were on park for the 9am entry, all your parking is free, they give you a voucher at check in. You need to book breakfast, it is free but it gets busy and is time slotted, swimming is the same and so are hotel restaurants if you want a lunch or evening meal, book them a week in advance, you don’t pay for meals unless you turn up and order and you can cancel your table if you change your mind. Also there is usually entertainment in the evening at the hotel and it’s fun so you might want to book any evening meal you want quite early so you don’t miss it. I wouldn’t worry about booking a themed room unless you really are that keen on it and want swimming included, we slept and showered in ours and yes it was lovely but there wasn’t much time to truly enjoy it so a basic room is plenty really, if you choose standard you will need to pay £3 per person for swimming though. We visit a lot but have only stayed over once, get menus from the website in advance and enquire at the hotel about the entertainment schedule for the night of your stay, the inclusive breakfast is very generous too, if you want to eat or drink during the daytime from any of the park food outlets it is cheaper to book meal deals and all day refillable drink bottles in advance, just go to the Chessington food and drink page, hope this helps
Erm....not that price for actual school holidays...
Very limited dates for me, not worth booking if kids at school.
