Got mine and am using it to improve the response of my Ring Doorbell. Its doing a good job at that and was worth the small outlay...
Yeah could be! After trying it in the same room and for it not to work properly. I thought this is not good or probably a faulty one who knows. At the end, it didn’t work for me very well..
Yep. It's not this device, but the "Installation without WPS" instructions on here should be much the same with this ... http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WNCE3001/WNCE3001_IG_20SEPT2011.pdf
5/6 metres is a fair bit for one of these especially if there are walls in the way. With line of sight, that range should be OK. It's a cheap one remember, wifi range will be less than most routers, so it's all about finding the sweet spot. But within the same room? Not sure what went on there. Even one of the garbage ones (worse than this) with internal antenna should be fine within the same room! Sounds like it either didn't connect properly (can be a bit fiddly) or you got a dud one.
I watched a video and I believe you can since he just had to sign in using his password
