I’m trying to put my 02 data sim in this device and it shows up when I search for Wi-fi but it asks for a password before I can connect. Doesn’t seem to be anything with the packaging that mentions a password? Can anyone help?

I think I seen this last week. Thanks for the reminder. Will get a few more.

Now showing at £4.97 at Curry’s/PC World. From 19/1/18

Can you show me how please?

I've just been looking for a media player this morning, this is showing much better specs than anything similarly priced on amazon. Are these dongles ok with heat? Just noticed no remote either, I'm guessing one would need to be picked up too. Any recommendations? Thoughts on this?

Was looking to buy the h96 pro TV dongle yesterday. Anyone help me device which one? The cpu/gpu seem to be similar, similar benchmark scores, same interface ports. Gearbest one is £33.49, both come without a remote. Same android versions. The pro TV dongle does get great reviews though Edit.. I see the h3 does 5ghz WiFi, the pro TV doesn't. Struggling to find reviews for it

Doh, just spent £50 on a m9 pro... :(

Afaik yes, tiptop price for spec and nice chunk off with code, not sure why they assume the 905x is a lower slower verison of the 905 as seems to fly on a android box just the same... Great for using on trips#hotels#away as even if hotel tv has no usb power port you can run these off any usb battery or 5v charger!

Mine arrived but can't get it to set up on my my Macbook at all. Wasted 4 hours last night.....

I figured for the sake of £6 I’d take a punt as I could do with one, and so far so good - I’ve had a shipping email. Also, this deal is expired. Update: item arrived just fine, works perfectly.

Sounds like gearbest in drag (shock)

I'm sceptical as how well this is going to perform due to the size and the tiny antennae. Poor signal strength = lower speeds. That said, I have a nano TPLink Wifi dongle which is still in the unopened box and hasn't been tested yet!

Built in Bluetooth would have made it better. Network Adapter UK. Probably Military. Higher bands blocked, you don't wanna click the wrong button incase you launch a nuke or maybe just stop the gas man from reading the meter from outside. I heard that BBC4 (bore) was down, no one missed it because noone watches it. I haven't and I don't know anyone who has. Gotta be home by 8, there's something on bbc boreeeee (4) BBC Not a miss except for Dr. Who, they could sell the rights elsewhere) It was funny at the time.

The last WiFi dongle I bought was crap and kept losing connection so I switched to a PCI-E WiFi card. This is a good deal though if it actually works.

Do you need to have working wifi internet access or can I stream something from my phone via Bluetooth?

Do you transmit to it via WiFi or does your tablet\phone have to have miracast software installed?

Had one for a while and pretty solid with my android devices, not tested with iOS as not a fanboy but easy switch it seems. So its a yes from me, advantage over Chromecast works both android and iOS and way cheaper.

Any good for YouTube?

Can someone kindly state the benefits or pros/cons of this over Chromecast? I am also tempted in purchasing an Android TV/Media box for around the £40-£50 mark. Thanks if anyone should reply.

USB Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Dongle EDR Adapter Transmitter & Receiver; Payday deal.

Can't leave it stuck at 199 degrees, have some heat

You can get similar items with Bluetooth 4.0 off eBay for under £2....

100% certain that this will not work. Alternative options are designed for general car use ie. USB powered with 3.5mm connection, or FM transmitter, or directly supported adapters. Even if it the USB port offers a data connection it won't support this adapter. These cheap dongles require driver installation. More expensive USB adapters are available and may be work if this is the case, but this one certainly won't. It's a poor product, at an inflated price, and a very poor deal. It should be ice cold, but hey, what do I know :p

A "wifi dongle" for a fiver off ebay is surely the easiest way to do this. eg £6.70 at Curry's link here Or £6.30 @Argos

Depends whether your USB is just to supply power OR whether it is connected to the car's sound system. If you plug in a USB with MP3s on, does the sound system play it?

Ok I must be being thick here but can someone explain the maths behind the deal as I don't understand why you don't still have to keep paying for the data element for the next 18 months after the initial 6

Not for me, but surely if the deal is as described above by moonshapedpool, then it is seemingly very cheap! Heat added ;)

This sounds like Refresh. So it's a 24 month device plan of £24. You get 40GB of data free for the first 6 months, so after the 6 months you'll have paid £6, and it would cost you £18 to buy out the contract, making the total cost £24 for 240GB of data spread over 6 months.

Basically it's a contract that you'd have to pay off early through the refresh scheme to get it worked out to the price stated by the op

This is performing worse than my small tp-link dongle, i dont know what im doing wrong.

USB 2.0 maxes out at 480Mbps minus a bit for overhead. You would need a pricier USB 3.0 dongle to go much faster.

Would this work with an Acer C720 chromebook? The wifi card is crap on 2.3ghz and cannot be changed. Works ok if used with a dual band 5ghz router but want a simple solution.

I got one of these at the back end of last year. Was sceptical because they had so many reviews in such a short time of listing, which is fishy for a relatively unknown company. Can't believe how well it works, both bands. Gone months of seamless online gaming, destroying my TP-Link that would keep losing connection. They aren't kidding here, it will cause your PC to crash if you don't install drivers beforehand. As i found out on Win 8.1 :P

Just buy a separate BT Openreach modem off ebay (got mine for £12 delivered years ago). Used it with Sky and now BT. Then connect that modem to the router of your choice.

Which tp link did you looking at replacing my d20 for the archer vr400

They have half a dozen or so "used like new" warehouse deals for 122.87. One of them reads "Item is in original, pristine packaging. Products that have been water tested may contain residual water or water marks. Products that have been factory tested may contain traces of coffee in the mill.". I find that covering my router in coffee and submerging it in water helps boost performance.

Word of warning to anyone on Sky Broadband (ADSL), if you are looking to have a separate dsl modem + Wifi Router like this one as your configuration, most standalone DSL modems will not work in bridge mode with a Wifi Router. This is because Sky only seem to allow PPPoA connections (unlike BT which allow both PPPoA & PPPoE). I found this out the hard way after reading forums for several hours on end. Therefore you cannot put the modem in bridge mode and end up with double NAT. The closest you can get to bridge mode at that point is to put the Wifi router into the DMZ of the dsl modem to avoid it. The forum posts were a bit old in date (1 or 2 years) but apparently the only way to achieve this setup with the dsl modem in bridge mode on Sky is to buy either a Draytek Vigor 120 or 130 dsl modem which supports PPPoA to PPPoE bridging. Not sure if they are any *other* dsl modems so far that support this yet...? Needless to say the draytek modems are more expensive than your average dsl modem. £50ish for the 120 and £80ish for the 130, I think....

Yes, I just saw the 5GHZ speed not the overall. Yes, probably better for adding 5ghz wifi to a laptop, though the anewish one can work without the antenna too (it just unscrews) but probably not as well as this one, since it's designed to be used with it for best results...

Gotta agree with the antenna comment .. makes a big difference in most houses in keeping a fast stable signal especially on c band

This is far better to use in a laptop though - no antenna to knock off and bust your usb port and incidentally it's exactly the same speed as the ANEWISH one.

Not bad though the anewish adaptor was cheaper (lightening deal ended now) and better imho as it is capable of upto 600mbps and more importantly included an antenna so it would give a more stable signal over longer range... Still heated anyway as its a fair price.
