NETGEAR Orbi Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System, Tri-Band £170.99 2-Pack / £215.99 3-Pack @ Amazon

Good price for the 3 pack! Currently £300 at Curry’s.

This or the bigger vellop??

Ubiquity is better

Have had the RBK43 3-pack for ~6 months now and can't recommend it highly enough - we get excellent coverage across the house and near 100% of the 200mbps bandwidth from our Virgin connection over the wireless network

Very useful to know, thanks!

There's differences in wi-fi speed, back-haul bandwidth, USB Ports, Ethernet ports and internal memory between some of the different options, so it's worth having a good look at the details in the link above before deciding what option is best for you, And considering the "handover" between satellite units can be problematic sometimes, i'd recommend going for a 2 pack of the bigger units instead of 3 of the smaller ones.

AUKEY USB Wifi Adapter Dual Band 5GHz 433Mbps + 2.4GHz 150Mbps Wireless Network Adapter £4.99 (add on) Sold by yueying and Fulfilled by Amazon

A big price drop for this Dual band wireless adapter. Was £12 recently.Comes with 24m warranty. Add on item so need to spend £20 for free delivery.

Not bad for a fiver. CPU utilisation jumped 10% when on full load but that's expected from a USB device of this nature. Cheers OP. Pops

Theoretical, it won't actually hit that in real world scenarios, then again the wireless won't hit 433Mbit/s either.

These usb wife adapters lost most of their customers when Raspberry Pi added WiFi support.

I was going to suggest the very same thing.

I've just been looking for a media player this morning, this is showing much better specs than anything similarly priced on amazon. Are these dongles ok with heat? Just noticed no remote either, I'm guessing one would need to be picked up too. Any recommendations? Thoughts on this? https://www.geekbuying.com/item/MECOOL-M8S-PRO-Plus-4K-TV-Box-381461.html

Was looking to buy the h96 pro TV dongle yesterday. m.gearbest.com/tv-stick-dongle/pp_679589.html?wid=21 Anyone help me device which one? The cpu/gpu seem to be similar, similar benchmark scores, same interface ports. Gearbest one is £33.49, both come without a remote. Same android versions. The pro TV dongle does get great reviews though Edit.. I see the h3 does 5ghz WiFi, the pro TV doesn't. Struggling to find reviews for it

Doh, just spent £50 on a m9 pro... :(

Afaik yes, tiptop price for spec and nice chunk off with code, not sure why they assume the 905x is a lower slower verison of the 905 as seems to fly on a android box just the same... Great for using on trips#hotels#away as even if hotel tv has no usb power port you can run these off any usb battery or 5v charger!

I'm sceptical as how well this is going to perform due to the size and the tiny antennae. Poor signal strength = lower speeds. That said, I have a nano TPLink Wifi dongle which is still in the unopened box and hasn't been tested yet!

Built in Bluetooth would have made it better. Network Adapter UK. Probably Military. Higher bands blocked, you don't wanna click the wrong button incase you launch a nuke or maybe just stop the gas man from reading the meter from outside. I heard that BBC4 (bore) was down, no one missed it because noone watches it. I haven't and I don't know anyone who has. Gotta be home by 8, there's something on bbc boreeeee (4) BBC Not a miss except for Dr. Who, they could sell the rights elsewhere) It was funny at the time.

The last WiFi dongle I bought was crap and kept losing connection so I switched to a PCI-E WiFi card. This is a good deal though if it actually works.

Generally small aerials like this are rubbish.

To avoid all the complication, I've just re-purposed a spare phone that has user replaceable batteries to work as a hotspot :)

Any reason why this wouldn't work with a 4g dongle?

There are some really fun people on this site aren’t there.

because only thay computer would be able to use it. this is a wireless Hotspot so multiple machines can connect to it at the same time.

Why not just plug the 3g usb dongle into your computers usb port.

Yes, this is exactly what it does. The best description is that it's a wifi bridge.

Could this be set up as an access point.

Heat, just got last two in Perth reserved for me and the old man (y)

I ordered one a few months ago when it was £4.99. It never worked very well it would constantly need restarting for me to be able to connect to the gui, when it did work the device was very slow. It also only supports 3G "only" dongles, not those that also support 4G. I purchased a TP Link MR3020 which although more expensive works perfectly. I wouldn't use the device as a 3G wireless router, although I think it may be a good WAP or bridge for this price.

USB Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Dongle EDR Adapter Transmitter & Receiver; Payday deal.

Can't leave it stuck at 199 degrees, have some heat

You can get similar items with Bluetooth 4.0 off eBay for under £2....

100% certain that this will not work. Alternative options are designed for general car use ie. USB powered with 3.5mm connection, or FM transmitter, or directly supported adapters. Even if it the USB port offers a data connection it won't support this adapter. These cheap dongles require driver installation. More expensive USB adapters are available and may be work if this is the case, but this one certainly won't. It's a poor product, at an inflated price, and a very poor deal. It should be ice cold, but hey, what do I know :p

A "wifi dongle" for a fiver off ebay is surely the easiest way to do this. eg £6.70 at Curry's link here Or £6.30 @Argos

Depends whether your USB is just to supply power OR whether it is connected to the car's sound system. If you plug in a USB with MP3s on, does the sound system play it?

Ok I must be being thick here but can someone explain the maths behind the deal as I don't understand why you don't still have to keep paying for the data element for the next 18 months after the initial 6

Not for me, but surely if the deal is as described above by moonshapedpool, then it is seemingly very cheap! Heat added ;)

This sounds like Refresh. So it's a 24 month device plan of £24. You get 40GB of data free for the first 6 months, so after the 6 months you'll have paid £6, and it would cost you £18 to buy out the contract, making the total cost £24 for 240GB of data spread over 6 months.

Basically it's a contract that you'd have to pay off early through the refresh scheme to get it worked out to the price stated by the op
