S’alright this stuff but I like the rye better. It’s often reduced at the same time. £20 a good price for both. Both good for making whisky based cocktails.

Marwood_Withnail

Other supermarkets need to exist simply to keep the plebeians out of waitrose.

thekitkatshuffler

So no reason except you've bought into their marketing. Gotcha. Enjoy your rebadged, standard supermarket slop. (y)

Marwood_Withnail

If you even have to question it, you simply are not worthy.

Bonoman27

Same price in Morrisons if that helps anyone

Not tried the honey, the Red Stag is far too sweet.

£18 in Sainsbury’s but that’s still 40% more so if you want a mixer or enjoy Jim anyway then this is good. To be honest I enjoy the rough edges :)

Yes, Aldi sold Old Horseshoe over Christmas and it was reportedaly sourced from the distiller of Old Forester.

Whiskyhunter

Sunk half a bottle of old forester last night. Must of enjoyed it. No hangover too. I think it’s the same as Aldi sold around Christmas time though can’t remember what they sold it as horseshoe or something

tonyhart

2nd favourite bourbon. Thanks for posting. Heat added.

timothy.griffin

Fair enough. Having tried it it won't get any heat from me whatever the price.

gazham

I was quite surprised it went cold. Just because it’s not up to everyone’s taste doesn’t make it a bad deal.

This is the first deal if posted so hopefully done it right. Just ordered a bottle myself. Not tried it before but thought I’d give it a go. Enjoy
D4NVT

As above, Black is aged for longer giving a more rounded and smoother taste. Devils cut is the extreme of Double Oak, quite woody and a bit sharper. Black is by far the best value IMO. A really smooth pour for the price. Makers 46 and Wild Turkey 101 are sitting on my fridge ready to open next 🥴🤤 XD

koskesh

This will be much more mellow. black is basically higher quality white label. Devil’s Cut is quite intense. I like them all.to each their own.

Britishfamilyguy

Any know know how this compares to JB Devil's Cut? Thanks

Vasile_Emigrant

Ordered - thank you!

GishG

Just coming to the end of my bottle of Bookers, lovely stuff and at 62.95% it's got a kick to it. Only trouble is I can't find any more at a reasonable price, got it from Amazon last year for £50.

TelicVet

Agreed. I've not had this but th JD equivalent, and as a liqueur it should be lower in price and not the same as a proper bourbon/whiskey whatever your thoughts are on that

NFS

Amazon have definitely upped the RRP to make it look like a deal. Can be regularly picked up on amazon for £14 (got 2 bottles the other week) until the push the price up and can be picked up in supermarkets for £18

supersk8r

Bushmills is currently £16 on amazon. Not Black bush but still nice

Diamond_Studd

Its £18 at Asda currently

J1135

I've honestly never seen this any higher than 14 quid a bottle... 24.56 amazon with made up rrp yet again lol I'll supply the ice :)

Point taken....I just feel people should spare a thought about the key workers that are actually delivering these non essential alcoholic items. A few of which are working in conditions of little or no social distancing. Granted they are employed/self employed.

Give me JD Apple any day compared to this (lol)

hippysoul33

Thanks Andy :)

gregjs

I think it's comparable to Gentleman Jack in terms of smoothness. Definitely a different flavor profile though and quite polarizing as some friends of mine who love their jack don't care for this. Myself, I love it, more so than Jim Beam Black Label or Gentleman Jack (haven't tried single barrel). I say it's most definitely worth a try at this price.

hippysoul33

Thanks for the reply :) Yes I’ve tried the original Jim before, it’s quite nice. I was just wondering if this was worth a try for that price because it’s always cheaper than Jack. It does sound quite nice :)

Best budget bourbon going in my opinion and a good gateway into something a bit more interesting. If you like this and you don’t mind a high proof whiskey give Booker’s a try as it’s the same mash bill aged longer and at around 125 proof.

This has to be one of the most pathetic comments I’ve ever read on here, you must be a very sad individual.

square72

There is always one and I agree with the poster above. I was under the impression that terrys choc oranges and various other chocolates were in fact chocolates and not spirits but if it floats your boat to get drunk on chocolate or Aussie hair care products then that just about sums you up. I can sleep well tonight that you went through my posts to vote cold whereas I have a life and will enjoy an evening with my family while you troll the boards.
