good , any 16G!

How does this compare with an HP Elite X2 (work machine)? I've got a Lenovo Duet for home use but fancy something a bit more versatile/powerful.

thank you!

Yeah it was BT Business Direct. I think it's only being sold through business channels, not sure why. It wasn't a special deal just over £1400. I got some cashback from TC. They are the perfect form factor for my job. The Pro 6 was a trial and I wanted the cheapest power/£. But I also needed to be able to get work data off if it got damaged where I work on large building sites. So I got the 128gb and used a 256gb micro SD for data. The 7+ has a removable SSD. This means I can have faster storage and still remove it if it gets damaged. Also up it to to the new i7 and 16gb RAM. To be honest I ended up using my Pro 6 i5 all the time and hardly ever opened my Dell XPS 15.

May I know where from?

There's a sort of 7.5 in the form of the Surface Pro 7 for Business, which has a few improvements over the 7

Good price at moment - great bit of kit. Bought mine £100 cheaper in November. Can recommend the "Rena Pencil" from Amazon in favour of the official microsoft pen.

I know it's crazy. Kept thinking there would be some bargains and now the MacBook air with the M1 chip blows this out of the water unless you need the touch screen/pen. Will wait and see what the 8 brings.

It was about six months before the replacement came out and had been out a little over a year. I got lucky on a deal I saw on here, and Argos actually had stock :D back then you didn't want to get a brand new at release model as there were always hardware/firmware issues

I presume that was a "previous model" at the time? This seems like a good price for a current model given the high sales of all laptop equipment for homeworking at the moment. Mind you, there are rumours of a Surface Pro 8 not too far away.

Nice item, not sure if this is a deal though. Can be had cheaper.

I know. 663 euros from eglobal Central eu site. Think I'll order from there, works out at £577 with insured shipping.

i5 8GB 128GB SSD and bazels from 6 years ago for the is price (shock)

If you're interested in this and would be getting a keyboard later. Try adding the keyboard option you like. Might be the cheapest way of getting the keyboard. Oddly, on the higher spec options (i7), adding a keyboard can significantly lower the overall price. Mind you I feel they're overpriced for me, but if you're happy with the prices adding a keyboard may make the overall price cheaper!

I have the Surface Pro 4, brilliant, stopped using my workstation since I have the dock too, no complaints. Wondering if it's worth upgrading now or better to wait.

I got this from John Lewis for £679 with 2 years warranty. Great portable machine on site with battery optimised I can get nearly a full day 7-8 hours before I need to top up. Has USB C so I have not tried but should be able to charge from portable battery bank.

There is videos on youtube how to change the battery but it is not something a DIY job. If you ask some of the phone computer repair shops they might do it but you would be taking a chance and it will be expensive.

I own a surface, I use it as my travel laptop for using at work. For that it is amazing, lightweight and feels great to type on. As others have said. Battery is terrible I have to keep it plugged in. Also I have heard if you break the screen it is near impossible to get fixed. Also for the price, you cannot upgrade any internals or battery in the future as it hard for anyone to access the internals. I’m happy as I got it at a bargain price. But would not pay this, rather get another laptop deal.

Laptop I have one later I slowly feel that the life of the laptop is a little short (annoyed)

Top tip - aftermarket pens work just as well as the Microsoft ones do - and can be had for £15 from amazon

Great deal - great laptop - but OOS now :)

Had a surface 3 (not even the pro) for 4 years working as an IT consultant, best device going. Iv just replaced it, but 4 gig ram, intel atom so not exactly a powerhouse (my 1 year old phone is actually more powerful) but could run all the office apps, video calls, email, internet, download and play all streaming and downloaded films, never needed repaired and most importantly for me portable. If you want to play games, no, if you want to do graphic design or architecture, no. Everything else yes. But if you are a home user just using it for sitting in the house, watching Netflix and surfing the internet and social media, save yourself a fortune and buy a £350 laptop.

Why does everyone advertise these showing the typecover which ISNT included? It's false advertising and shouldnt be allowed. (Having a go at the sellers here, not the OP)

Surface Pro 8 is rumoured in January, so keep your powder dry...

No longer available at this price at John Lewis. I am hoping there will be a price reduction on Surface Pro before Christmas wonder what the chances are? Just missed the Black Friday Deals.

I had been an admirer of Surface Pro. But when comparing performance portability and compatibility, Levono Yoga will be my preferred choice. No hidden secrets of expensive compatibility options and Levono is not pricey, portable and a performer. If you want to write with a pen go for apple.

These are not upgradable as the surface is glued together...though some brave souls do use heat to unglue them. Of the 200 surfaces we bought for our company we have had a high failure rate usually down to the PSU or battery.
