Excellent - Refurbished: The item shows no signs of use. It is fully functional and has been professionally refurbished, tested, inspected and cleaned to excellent condition by qualified sel…

The difference between the 7 and 8 is such that the 8 pro i5 actually outperforms the 7 pro i7. The 16gb over the 8gb however will be a different case if that is important to you and same with storage.

Never say definitely on eBay, but in this case amongst the photos there is one of what appears to be a slightly out of focus sealed box.

Way more expensive

This needs the context that the i7 16GB/512GB version of the Surface Pro 8 is £1601 from that link.

Maybe a silly question but I've never bought 'refurbished' electronic items - when they refer to an item as 'Refurbished A' condition is this definitely going to be something that someone has had in pieces to repair or could it potentially include say open box items that were returned within 28 days and just quality checked before reselling?

Isn't the processor same on the 7 pro plus and 8

sashforth

Yes, but you will probably need to buy the keyboard in order to use it for word-processing.

Can this be used as a laptop? I’m looking to get a laptop for light use (storing photos, internet browsing, watching football/golf) and like the 2-in-1 flips (Asus, Lenovo) but reading the reviews online the hinges break a LOT and cost a lot to repair

iBird90

The battery is comparable if running the 8 at 60hz (at 120hz the battery life is 30% lower, you might be referring to that?). Also I forgot to mention the 8 also has a bigger screen (same chassis size), as well as 120hz as mentioned above. So the only negative is no micro-sd slot, for some significant future proofing upgrades. I can't see how that would be a big enough detractor, if you need more storage space than 128gb on a tablet you've probably picked the wrong device for your planned use case. An external hard drive or cloud storage (or both) would get around this.

Reportedly worse battery on the sp8 and lack of microsd card means this isn't such a bad deal.

Most of our work had these rolled out over the last 4 year's, the keyboards being fibre/cloth wear very quickly and generally very unrepairable, were being moved to Elite books, i wouldn't have one for home use

chrb

Surface pros can be a bit quirky we have lots of high spec ones at work and when they update things regularly go wrong Web cams stop working etc can be a real pain

myOpinion2

128gb is a bit stingy considering it's not upgradeable

fzurro

Oos?

Thanks for the comment. I'd have bought it thinking the cover was included...

I'm an IT manager an this all i use, it's my goto do anything device.

bigmo7

Sounds good - cheers. Trying to buy something not too expensive as my wife thinks I won't use it as much as I say I will (she's right btw) so thought now that sp8 is announced, this might be a good purchase!

Not tried gaming but I can try one tomorrow. If you want the option to game then the Surface Pro 8 might be better for you as you have thunderbolt therefore the option is there to plug in a GPU should you wish to play a modern game. You'll have portable and gaming potential?

Let us know how it goes (y)

I've done it but obviously not received the discount yet. The terms and conditions say - Laptops Use your estimate to complete your trade-in below, and receive cash straight in to your bank account to buy the new product you’ve selected! It specifically states that only laptops can be traded in online and using this method. I ordered the Surface before the offer was removed and I've got the free post label from Currys to sort out tomorrow.

spinach_pie

Have you done it? The terms of the £100 specifically state that it's in-store only. They pay you by BACS for standard online trade-in, but then it makes the £100 moot as there is no way to know if you will use that cash to purchase an MS product etc.
