not sure the average price on this for Amazon, but on Lego website, its £9.99 (not sure about delivery though), but i think £7.98 is decent for whats being had here, even if it just helps make one person aware that this exists :)

Resale value. Says it all really. My stuff from when I was a kid went into the loft and came out when my Son was old enough to play with it. It was well used - teeth marks, bits broken, no boxes or instructions - and had no resale value whatsoever. I hope that the stuff we have bought our Son ends up the same - bits lost or broken, instructions worn to confetti, and very well used and enjoyed. It'll go in the loft and come out for the next generation - apart from my Yellow Submarine set, which stays on the shelf!

I gather some of the Blox characters are vegan too. Seriously though, snobbery isnt the issue, they simple are not as good as lego. While they are still good in isolation, once they get into you lego it's a pain. Also means if you ever sell your lego, which does have a high resale value, you will have to remove every bit of non lego. Personally, I'm not against other brands and have bought the odd lepin set in cases where there was no chance of getting the real one.

Great comment on blox, i posted this deal which would have cost 6 times more if it was Lego. It's hard to tell the difference when blox are mixed with standard lego but the figures could be a lot better.

Fantastic comment above! At 3-4 my son doesn't exactly look after it so blox is fine for him, I'd have loved it as a kid too. I have got some lego sets stashed away for when he is older - plus a pile of blox sets too :)

There are always Lego snobs when this sort of deal crops up. Blox isn't Lego, but it doesn't come with the Lego price tag either. The plastic used doesn't click together quite as smoothly or nicely as Lego, but neither does it fall apart or need gluing. The figures aren't the same as Lego either, but once put together they are fine, and there is more ethnic diversity than with Lego, so a great tool for teaching that people come in all different sizes and colours. The sets themselves may have some shortcomings in terms of looks, but they use basic blocks to their fullest extent and are excellent value. When I was a kid, this was all Lego was, basic blocks with a handful of special parts. You can always pimp the sets with actual Lego pieces if you really want. I've spent far too much on Lego and Blox for my 7 year old, but don't regret a penny on either brand and have enjoyed putting all the sets together and taking them apart before working through them with the nipper so I know there are no surprises with bits missing. If you are awash with cash, by all means stick to Lego and be a snob about it. If you want your child to have lots of choice to be creative, and don't have fivers dropping out of every orifice, then Blox is a solid, basic, base to add specific fancy Lego sets to when you can afford them or they come up on here.

this set includes Chase McCain (the lad with the brown hair). if your kid is into the Lego City stuff, there's a fantastic game for most platforms called 'Lego City Undercover', it's one of the best Lego open-world games IMO.

Finding a van full of £1 B&M Lego is highly doubtful, and when you do they’re usually smashed to bits

The trouble with B&M stores is that its like Tesco deals, you have to be in the right time and store. I shall try of course in my local stores but well done in finding these, heat added!

Any LEGO (apart from common polybags) is an arm-sweep at £1. I drove around all the B&Ms with 50 miles of Reading last year and filled a van! Over £5K worth of LEGO for under £500!
