Try vivobarefoot, caterpillar , camper( the ones i use and love) those are mostly casual. Sports shoes look for New Balance, Brooks, Hooka, seems like Salomon are doing some wide too. Should be specified the shoes is wide. None are cheap though. But. Once you go wide you never go back

Some do but some don’t and in that case I think it’s the other way around. Some have narrow feat because they start with narrow shoes so your foot adapts and shrinks. Happened to me as well when i went to 0 drop which most is wide foot. All if not most report that old shoes won’t fit anymore after they went to 0 drop shoes or barefoot style shoes … I certainly hope not most have narrow feet. You’d see a high percentage tipping over even if not drunk

Mass market. Most people have narrow feet therefore that’s what they make and sell need a brand that caters for wide feet anyone know which shouod benlooking at?

I think the main reason why they make narrow shoes is because some people have narrow feet.

Thanks Op, great deal. Went for the 11 as I’m usually a 10.5 with a wide foot. £35 is a bargain

SALOMON Men's Speedcross 4 Trail Running Shoes Waterproof £66 at Amazon

Salomon speedcross 4 £66 usually well over £100

Great price! Beware though! I ordered some and they came yesterday. They are super narrow! I could hardly get my feet in them! Good find though!

I honestly don't know what kind of size standard they follow, the only people I know that actually wear these go up at least one size and half the time that means they actually don't fit. Even when I've found a wide they are never wide. Anyone that can wear these true to size I think actually has to have some kind of deformity, even worse if you've like half of people spent the last 18 months barely wearing shoes, your feet may have actually widened naturally. Mine certainly have now that I'm not shoving them in my unforgiving if fashionable Ted Bakers every week day.

As others have said, go up one size from your normal with these. Having tried them on they come up small. I'm usually a 10UK but needed an 11UK.

To keep your feet dry, get yourself a pair of Aldi waterproof socks. Goretex is also less breathable relative to other fabrics.

I’ve got a pair of these and they do get wet fairly easily, but they dry super fast. Have ran in torrential rain, thick mud and these don’t hold water for long. Only an idiot would get Goretex trail runners as they keep the water in for much longer, meaning soaked feet, meaning blisters.

Speedcross 4 trail running shoes. Offered at this price a couple of months ago, been waiting for them to go on offer again. Really comfy shoes.

Really want a pair of xt-6

Poster means water going in over the top which I find is a problem walking but not so much running. I'm a recent convert to Winter fell running in goretex shoes along with sealkinz socks. Water gets in but warms up like neoprene and I can still feel my toes when I get home.

Definitely not for that. New Balance make loads of very reasonably priced road style trainers with a light trail sole. See their Nitrel range but also all the main brands do similar ranges that can be had around £40 if you look around online. For top price and very soft look at Hoka stinson or challenger but these are a uniquely soft feel and not everyone's cup of tea.

I have the GTX version of this posters trail shoes and I have never had wet feet from the rain in the UK. However running through a stream did let some water in on my right shoe once. I took the shoe and sock off dried my feet on my shirt removed the sock from my dry foot and put it on my former wet foot and carried on running whilst holding a wet sock. (lol)

I bought my second pair of Speedcross 4's for £63 in 2017. I've done some pretty serious distance in them, including the last 40 miles of a 100 mile race. They do well on most trail surfaces but are slightly more geared towards mud. But they are flat out not a road show. By Salomon standards they are roomy, which isn't saying much but they're the only Salomons I can get away with running in. Any narrower and I'd have issues but I wouldn't describe them as especially narrow. Can't knock them, they're middle of the road but decent quality trail shoes. And for hiking I love them. But I'm disappointed that they haven't come down in price more - the Speedcross 5 has been out for a few years now.

Good find and first post @CaptainBali - thanks for sharing :)

That's the two things I look for (that you mention) in a long distance walking boot. I find Salomon really fit well due to lace system too, it pulls in all around the foot. Find this style really robust even with what looks like less protection around front and sides. At this price for me they are snap your hand off offer and I've gone for it as I know they always a brilliant fit in the size I order. On top of the manufacturer warranty you'll also have the Gore-tex lifetime warranty that I've successfully made a couple of genuine claims in the past.

Just got last 11.5 size £71 (:

Looking at the worst of the amazon reviews gives an indication how well the boots hold up 10% rating of 1 to 3 stars means 90% are happy with them. I get the bit about lack of waterproofing - that is to do with mesh material at the top which might be ok for light rain but not the constant trudging through wet grass.

It seems to be hit and miss, and usually I err on the side of the 'people' doing something dodgy to the product. A lot of people have said they're extremely comfortable, and very light as well - two things I am looking for. Problem is, if I buy them now I won't need to use them until October.

Any good for running from the local 5 oh?

Thanks. Ordered. Heat added.

I'm an 11 and its to small just, but the 11.5 was a tiny bit big. Frustrating

Not working, they have increased in price now! Correction on a size 11

Definitely half a size up - a whole size is too much.
