That's happened to mine too!!

These ones are designed to be used off road for sure . BUT.... If you read the reviews there are many complaints, fast sole wear is only one of the complaints. Another big one is the fabric failing, particularly by the small toe. This is a design fault, I had the same with Merrell. The manufacturers are still learning with new fabrics, that toe area is a particular weak spot. That toe reinforced area stops suddenly, creating a weak spot

I agree, I feel these are prob genuine though as being sold by official salomon store. I think some problems are also peoples use, wearing them on too hard a terrain/tarmac rather than the softer terrain they are designed for and then wondering why the lugs are wearing down quickly

paully

There have been a lot of problems with fake Salomon shoes being sold on Amazon and eBay over the years, chances are you have not bought a genuine pair. The real thing won't fall apart like that.

benjaminallen

These are rubbish just returned a pair the soles wore out in four weeks and stiching was loose paid 66 pounds for mine and felt ripped off they are only good for grass

I love mine. Switched the lace to lock laces. Very comfy and well made..

jstarr

Received mine today. They are probably worth £30 at a push.. very thin, yet stiff with some questionable stitching. Quite obvious cost cut manufacturing. Size wise I ordered a 9 as I do in every shoe and they fit fine. I do have slim feet though.

jazid

Be aware that unless you have an ASDA near you, these will cost you £2.95 to return via Hermes/Collect+ Also as soon as you place an order there is no way to cancel that. Not the Wiggle I used to know (but then it has been sold and bought several times over). I bought the SALOMON OUTLINE PRISMS and they are still a very narrow shoe - narrower than normal running/treking shoe. IMO these are not worth the risk for ASDA-less buyers

Mine arrived today, thanks for the heads up they look great. *added some of that thick mounting tape into the toe box where my big toe has nowadays started to wear a hole in some of my trainers with mesh uppers

LanzaJet

Got a pair in each colour at £35 at beginning of summer. Half a size up from normal for me. Usually 11 need 11.5 and perfect fit. These are no good for winter they have a very fine mesh across whole front of foot. Brilliant for hot weather though.

To be waterproof you need the Goretex versions. I have been using these for years as they are great. You need to buy 1 or 2 sizes bigger and they wear down quickly on tarmac but they are so comfortable and the laces are great. I wish they did a version with normal soles on for use on tarmac

vornstar13

Sounds about right for these shoes. Very narrow and awful on wet rock. My brother had the non goretex version and the grip was equally bad on rock. Other people rate them but I didn't get on with them. I've tried other Salomon shoes and they've had a better fit.

skullbugz_joe

I bought a pair of the speed cross ones that were previously advertised on here, from a seller on amazon. I am 99% sure that they are fake. The grips wore away within the first few weeks of wearing them. They are slippy on wet paving slabs, and the shoe itself is tight on the sides of the foot( base is soft rubber). Where as I have had an official pair of Saloman shoes, for 8 years now, they have been worn constantly for long walks and the grips are still partially there ( solid base). ( I would only buy these from an official retailer).

wilburscoville9191

So unlikely to be fake Salomon's, but the description certainly is. These are not the waterproof version.

regancipher

Echo this. I'm usually 8-8.5 and 9 were way too small for me.

Damn. Missed out.

Hi_Hjk

Awesome, just managed to get a pair for my wife. They are back at £110 now so big thanks.

alison197

Brilliant just ordered a pair, current ones are wearing out. Excellent price.

milesyboy1

Brilliant price as bought the last time they dropped to £60. Wore them for camping recently when the ground was wet and being Gortex kept my feet nice and dry.

Are these waterproof?

reyleps

These arrived mid-week. And have already been sent back. They’re Sooo narrow even for my average width feet. Shame, great looking shoes and a superb price (fierce)

taz002dev

Try vivobarefoot, caterpillar , camper( the ones i use and love) those are mostly casual. Sports shoes look for New Balance, Brooks, Hooka, seems like Salomon are doing some wide too. Should be specified the shoes is wide. None are cheap though. But. Once you go wide you never go back

taz002dev

Some do but some don’t and in that case I think it’s the other way around. Some have narrow feat because they start with narrow shoes so your foot adapts and shrinks. Happened to me as well when i went to 0 drop which most is wide foot. All if not most report that old shoes won’t fit anymore after they went to 0 drop shoes or barefoot style shoes … I certainly hope not most have narrow feet. You’d see a high percentage tipping over even if not drunk

jaffamuffin

Mass market. Most people have narrow feet therefore that’s what they make and sell need a brand that caters for wide feet anyone know which shouod benlooking at?

Great price! Beware though! I ordered some and they came yesterday. They are super narrow! I could hardly get my feet in them! Good find though!

warriorscot

I honestly don't know what kind of size standard they follow, the only people I know that actually wear these go up at least one size and half the time that means they actually don't fit. Even when I've found a wide they are never wide. Anyone that can wear these true to size I think actually has to have some kind of deformity, even worse if you've like half of people spent the last 18 months barely wearing shoes, your feet may have actually widened naturally. Mine certainly have now that I'm not shoving them in my unforgiving if fashionable Ted Bakers every week day.

Danwins

As others have said, go up one size from your normal with these. Having tried them on they come up small. I'm usually a 10UK but needed an 11UK.

AfterAGoodDeal

To keep your feet dry, get yourself a pair of Aldi waterproof socks. Goretex is also less breathable relative to other fabrics.

Sanjay_from_Bradford

I’ve got a pair of these and they do get wet fairly easily, but they dry super fast. Have ran in torrential rain, thick mud and these don’t hold water for long. Only an idiot would get Goretex trail runners as they keep the water in for much longer, meaning soaked feet, meaning blisters.
