Like I said I read it for 20 years, over the last 2 or 3 it seemed to be getting more left-wing. The Culture section has long been more left-wing than the rest being associated with the arts but that got even more so. TV reviews would often have a left-wing slant as well.

Can you give one single example to establish the truth of that allegation?

If you think the Sunday Times is getting more right-wing you must be in Momentum or something. They're getting more left-wing, try reading it. I did, for 20 years.

sarcasm or drugs?

Those vouchers are a pain TBH Cashiers seem to have problems with them. Aldi don't or didn't even accept them.

OP is correct 'Q: What Contract Am I Buying?A: 3 month minimum term, followed by flexible monthly rolling contract.' I see, for the first time, they are offering the Classic Packs greatly reduced for three months but now on a twelve month minimum contract '£2.67 a week, for 3 months Billed upfront at £34.67 Then £8 a week. 12 month minimum contract. Make sure you don't go for this one unless you want to pay £8 a week for 9 months!

3 months min for £1 a month Digital Pack which is the option this thread is about. I suggest you look for a Specsavers deal

Different sub option. Minimum term for "The Digital Pack £1 a month for 3 months" option is clearly stated as " ...3 month minimum term, then £6 a week..."

Seems a reasonable condition seeing how you are getting an awful lot of newspaper for £1 per month. Rupert may be a few things but daft he is not.

Minimum term is 12 MONTHS !!!

FREE Star Wars:The Force Awakens Poster in the Sunday Times (£2.50)
Found 13th Dec 2015Found 13th Dec 2015
Cheap stocking filler for the kids

No problem

Can't afford I'm on benefits

Updated, cheers

not sure where all this info is from, but the truth is that the poster is double-sided. front is the official portrait poster for The Force Awakens, and the reverse is a collage of images made from promo shots and stills from The Force Awakens. not sure where the new hope stuff has come from also the quality of the paper, though not excellent, is slightly better than the usual news print. it's a bit thicker and the colours come through a bit more true. again though, it's not glossy etc

This is just printed on normal newspaper paper - Really not worth it specifically just to get the poster. If however, you additionally want read about what a terrible man Mr Corbyn is, and how blowing up Syria will help fight ISIS, and in no way help create the extremists of tomorrow, then go grab a copy...

£20 per year membership is for Students via Unidays

they won't let you use all those offers at once lol. the only thing you can use with tastecard is the pizza express gift card which you can use towards drinks etc

where did you find it for £20? I can't be bothered with these memberships that I need to remember to cancel etc!

I'm voting hot. You'd never buy a times plus membership just for this, but if you have one anyway ( great value for access to film previews, other events, as well as discount on the times) this is a new freebie they have just added it is worth knowing about. Street price of a year of tastecard is about £30, whereas my Sunday Times subscription is only £94 a year all in. (£2 a week, but you can cancel for 5 holiday Sundays.)

depends on where you are. I got one for free and we went out more with the kids. just meant going into the big towns and cities near by. saved us 50% there are plenty of restaurants to chose from in my experience.

I predict The Times will soon disappear from the myWaitrose offer. Why.... Because they have thin banners at the check out advertising new year stuff and on the reverse is paper offer info that shows Guardian, Telegraph and Mail only. Also in our store all the free paper signage has currently mysteriously disappeared - anyone else scoped this in their store?

Leaving aside any subscriber coupons - shopping at Waitrose with a myWaitrose card entitles you when your in-store basket includes a qualifying newspaper and the basket totals £5.00+ weekdays or £10.00+ weekends to: " the respective newspaper cover price off the cost of your shopping..." See T&C link on So they don't give you a "free newspaper" - they give you a SAVING of the cost of the paper - that's why you can still use your subscriber coupon to pay for your subscribed newspaper that's included in your £5/£10 shopping basket. So yes - on a Sunday if you've included a Sunday Times in your £10+ basket their computer will give you a £2.50 myWaitrose credit, and allow you to present a Sunday Times subscriber voucher @ £2.50 to pay for the paper - hence net paper cost = zero and your shopping basket is £2.50 lighter too. And if you have bought more than one qualifying newspaper their computer is even clever enough to automatically credit the price of the most expensive paper! I know this 100.00% as I have done it most days for c15 months. Only very occasionally a new member of staff is confused, but the old-hands soon educate them (it happened earlier this week - her colleague apologised next day and said 'they were new - they've come from John Lewis... they'll get used to our Waitrose ways soon..."]. I've only ever once, in the early days, needed to get a Supervisor to sort out the till operator as the T&Cs are quite clear.

Re extra tip... just want to clarify as I usually shop mid week are you saying that Waitrose give you £2.50 off a £10 shop on a Sunday in addition to a free paper? Thanks Jane

Pretty much - so many regular newspaper readers now subscribe (for the significant £ savings) that most newspaper vendors will be very familiar with them - all the supermarket chains are, just don't expect them to redeem them other than on the date printed! Some small/corner newsagents MAY decline them as obviously they have to do a lot of work to redeem them for often just '1p', versus immediate assured cash in hand! (BTW If you read the T&Cs you will find they offer some 'holiday' credits in case you go away/abroad during your sub - ie where you let them know in advance and then send the unused voucher(s) back to them during a defined period to get a refund.) . Extra tip: If you're a myWaitrose customer you can of course buy your Sunday Times there on Sunday - as part of a £10 shop - and get a £2.50 credit towards your shopping, as well as being able to redeem your (£2 cost) voucher/coupon to pay the £2.50 paper cost.

I signed up for this, you get a book of vouchers. Anyone know who accepts the voucher? Is it pretty much universal?
